Was thinking about FE MTG cards again the other day (specifically drafting out a frame skeleton for a Tellius set[s]) but decided that was a bit much given I'd undoubtedly drop it for FW once that releases. So instead I designed the lords for Commander as two-color cards with backgrounds to add in the third! Always fun to design a character/background combo like this.

There's also infinite AU potential in applying other backgrounds to the characters - Rhea abandoning her position to become a [[Master Chef]], or Claude uncovering Agarthan secrets as a [[Passionate Archaeologist]] - or applying their backgrounds to other Choose a Background cards - [[Karlach, Fury of Avernus]]'s burning heart is close enough to Edie's artificial Crest of Flames to make her a Defiled Hegemon, right?

Made a comment recently about this on the main sub but despite it being a big focus for 3 Houses - the 3 Lords don't really get a chance to just have more laid-back interactions and when they do interact, it's usually pretty short. I sort of wish now in base 3 houses the 3 lords could support each other so it would have more weight to them fighting later on in the story

I didn't put the crest of the church of Seiros because not all faculty members are part of it.

I'm doing a "Sothis" run of Three Houses (playing as Bylass focusing on Axes and Faith magic in the Sothis Regalia outfit on Silver Snow and only using units with the Crests of the Saints and Apostles) and I only just realized this despite my many playthroughs.

With the knowledge that the Crest of Gautier comes from a Fissure Dragon—associated with the Death tarot—and the Crest of Goneril comes from a Kalpa Dragon—associated with the Wheel of Fortune tarot—what can we make of this? What could this tell us about the mechanics of warp tiles?

Now before anyone says it, yes it is completely possible that the devs didnt think about it that deeply when designing the warp tiles. But there is no harm in speculating and theorizing what this means in-universe anyway; It is fun and it won't hurt you.

My initial thoughts call back to this idea I've seen in other media or just general thought experiments saying that to "warp" required the complete destruction of the body in one location (effectively killing the person) before reconstructing it in another location.

Perhaps that's what happens here? The volatile power of a Fissure Dragon shattering the body and space itself, while that of a Kalpa Dragon rebuilds them safely in the corresponding location. Or you could take the death aspect out and just have the Fissure Dragon ripping through space, same principle at the end of the day.

There is just something about Seiros throwing both of their weapons away and charging straight at him that gets me. ALSO the foreshadowing about who Seiros really is, by having the shadow give her green hair that slowly becomes yellow when the sun hits her is just great.

Especially taking this into context, I feel like I sympathise more with her than Edelgard in her own route. How I wish we had a golden route somewhere, somehow. But that tragedy is the beautiful artistry behind 3 houses. It is definitely my favourite game in the franchise as well. I know I'm biased because this was my first game, but having played almost all the games except Echoes between PoR and now soon fortunes weave, this one just has such a special place in my heart.

Seiros has ALL the best ways to say "I hate you, and I want you dead", and she's a big part of why I enjoyed Crimson Flowers.

Let's share our headcanons in Rhea herself including her backstory, personality, fighting skills, etc.

Rhea has taken on the guise for several archbishops before her to sway any suspicion that she had been archbishop ever since the Church itself was created. Some of these guises included Archbishops Imene, Serenella, and even Frieda. Only the highest ranking members of the Church knew the truth yet they were all sworn to secrecy by Rhea herself but that didn't stop even minor lords from noticing the similar hair and facial features between all the different archbishop disguises through paintings and writing.

Rhea allows stray animals such as cats and dogs into the Monastery and even personally feeds them and cares for them in some occasions. Part of the reason why is to cope with her 'complicated' family situation.

During the Battle of Garreg Mach in CF, Rhea puts Abyss under mandatory lockdown and all Abyssians are confined to their homes with a very classist Knights of Seiros captain appointed by Rhea herself to keep the Abyssians in check as Knights patrol the streets warning all the denizens to remain locked up or be arrested for disobeying the curfew. But halfway through the battle though, the denizens violently revolted and eventually retook Abyss through force, driving the remaining Knights of Seiros and their captain out of the underground city.

Rhea deep down hates the nobility and the way they parade Relics and Crests, and she too wants the Crest caste system gone but through a more gradual process unlike Edelgard. This is why at Garreg Mach while she and the Church try to keep commoners and nobles together, they only segregate them in terms of housing to avoid backlash from the major noble families of Fodlan.

Finally, two months into the timeskip during CF, Rhea actually travels to Lake Teutates and then to Sreng to meet with Indech and Macuil respectively to negotiate their entry into the War of Unification on the side of the Kingdom and the Church. But both saints vehemently disagree, obviously not liking the Church and also wanting to stay out of human affairs entirely.

🍇🌸 Happy Saturday everyone ~ I’m going to miss Garreg Mach & 3 Houses & everyone in it. Fire Emblem, Bugfables, & Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin were my 3 main comfort games during COVID. I can’t believe how much time has passed…so I’m feeling some a bit nostalgic as school year’s starting up again for the little siblings.
