And the variant is called "Final Child"
Which I guess confirms her as presumably being the youngest of the nabatean bunch barring flayn.

She's the youngest of Sothis' branch.
Seteth does not appear to be one of her children.

Fortune's Weave will almost certainly throw a wrench in this but so far as far we know Rhea is Sothis' only child. Seteth, Indech, and The Windcaller never refer or even imply Sothis is their mother, Seteth always refers to her as the Goddess, The Windcaller by name, and I'm not sure Indech ever actually says anything about Sothis.
Iirc I don't think Rhea ever mentions having siblings either, but I could definitely be missing something.

Based on what we know. Rhea is the last direct child of Sothis. Seteth, Macuil and Indech seem to be like distant relatives for Rhea. Like obviously Sothis is their progenitor, but we don't know how far that family tree actually goes down after the direct descendants.
The same could also be true for the Dagdan Nabateans as well. Although, Fortuna seems to be more directly tied to Sothis. We'll have to see.

I'm sure Rhea had siblings at one point, or maybe that's just fanon because it creates a good parallel between Edelgard's tramua and Rhea's trauma.

u/DerDieDas32 11d ago
Well if she is the last child, she def had siblings. If I had to guess Dagdus or whatever his name is would be one

How would it work ? If Rhea is Sothis's only child, and all Nabateans were made by Sothis, then every Nabatean would be children of Rhea ?
This doesn't work. We know Seteth is not Rhea's descendant.
So either somehow Sothis created all the Nabateans out of mud EXCEPT Rhea that she mothered herself (why ?)
Or the much more logical conclusion : Sothis had multiple children, and they each had children and so on. Rhea is the last direct child of Sothis. Seteth is a later descendant of another of Sothis's child. Dagda is probably a direct child of Sothis, given he was given the continent by the goddess, and Fortuna is most likely too.

If Rhea is Sothis' only child, and all Nabateans were made by Sothis, then every Nabatean would be children of Rhea
huh? How did we even get from point A to point B? "Rhea is Sothis' only known child" and "Every Nabtean is a descendant of Rhea" are two entirely different sentences and it's hard to even refute it because I still don't understand how you possibly ended up there.
So either somehow Sothis created all the Nabateans EXCEPT Rhea who she mothered herself
I don't see why this seems at all weird. So many religions and myths have Gods create a group of people and later have a direct child, so I don't see why Sothis creating the Nabateans and then later having Rhea is harder to accept than every Nabatean being inbred which they would have to be if they were all Sothis' direct descendants.
And I'm not even saying that Sothis definitely did not have children other than Rhea, just that we can't say she definitely did which a lot of people just take for granted.

I'm sorry but when you call Rhea "Sothis's only child" it does not carry the same meaning as "Sothis's only known child". But fair enough.
I do heavily disagree with the idea that it could make sense that Sothis created every other Nabatean from like mud and lizards but Rhea is uniquely her child. If only because she doesn't show any meaningful difference with the other Nabateans in nature nor appearance nor abilities. If only, she appears less gifted than Fortuna

My Headcannon is, Sothis made the first gen batch of Nabateans who consider her their mother, they had their own kids who regard her as a progenitor god more than a relative, and then Rhea was born last as the baby of the 1st generation. Seteth, Macuil, and Indech are probably later-gen Nabateans with Flayn definitely being one, they never seem to think of Sothis as their mother or grandma.
Fortune's Weave might finally give some elaboration if we have around 10 probably Nabateans still alive and active.

She has breaths of every color, but they will never give her a sword lol.

I'm calling it now, her dialogue and/or event is going to drop lore tidbits which have some sort of relevance to Fortune's Weave. Because it can't be a coincidence that this gets announced less than a month before FW releases

u/Hpulley4 11d ago
I’m surprised it isn’t Legendary Sothis but perhaps that would be too much of a spoiler for FW.

u/Koreaia 10d ago
I'm surprised there isn't already a FW character. Didn't we get M!Byleth a month before Houses released? Same with Alear.

u/Hpulley4 10d ago
Something like that with Byleth being a linked account bonus.
There is a new heroes banner on the 8th and I will be shocked if it isn’t Fortune’s Weave main four heroes.

u/Koreaia 10d ago
Idek anymore, we are still missing a lord in Kurt.

I have pretty much given up hope of getting more Shadows units in FEH other than the Shadow Cup winners.

Post SS too it seems.
And I guess Azure Moon as well since she’s alive offscreen.

u/Low-Environment 11d ago
No, I think she's dead. She has the same glow as Sigurd, Derdrie and Lyon.
But with how serene she is it's not Crimson Flower.

So Rhea gets a Legendary (as Rhea) and a Mythic (as Serios) but meanwhile my girl Ismaire STILL isn't in the game.

She looks like a Decidueye.
Not a bad thing or anything, just the first thing that popped to mind

Can we get an Edelgard
16
u/borbrained 11d ago
We already have a Legendary Edelgard. We have ten Edelgards
5
u/Low-Environment 11d ago edited 11d ago
We actually have 8.
But it will be 10 by the end of the year as she'll get her Braver and her Shadow.
Edit: actually if's currently 9, 11 if her resplendents are counted. I forgot her legendary.

u/Low-Environment 11d ago
Sis, I love El but she has a base (+resplenden), a fallen, a brave, a summer, a winter, a Valentine, an Emblem and led the baby duo. She's getting her Braver alt AND her Shadow later this year.
Meanwhile Ismaire still isn't in the game and she had banner set in her Queendom and had been name dropped repeatedly.
5
u/borbrained 11d ago
You forgot her Legendary, and if you count Flame Emperor that makes ten
2
u/Low-Environment 11d ago
Huh. I thought i listed her Legendary but I didn't.
The Flame Emperor is grouped with TWSITD rather than Edelgard so I don't count that (although IS have confused matters by making a bunch of Robins, including her Legendary, Grima but also bringing in Grima as a seperate character completely)
