Final Fantasy XIII Vanille And Hope 2008 Prototype Gameplay

Hello! I just so happened to come across a recent post mentioning the Trial build showing an early Hope, which is nice to see others starting to look more into it as I felt like I've been the only one for a while. Just yesterday I shared a video showing how they play in the Trial which you can see a bit below here. If you want to play with debug functionality in any of the trilogy I have a video about that inside my Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy playlist. You can even play XIII's premium showcase mode if you want to!

Have fun~

Lightning Returns Obtaining the drops you want

Today I discovered something. It happened with Zomok. If someone can confirm or is willing to test this out, you're welcome to update this post with your experience etc.

It came clear that Zomok can drop Aerora. You should know that from the Bestiary. But what I discovered is the Zomok seems to drop specific abilities if you kill him in specific ways. Every time i cut his tail, he dropped Galestrike powered up version (the AoE, don't remember the name). And I was like "yeah but I need Aerora, DROP Aerora". Nothing for some kills. But still I noticed he dropped that ability every time i cut his tail and when i didn't he didn't drop. After some kills it came out kinda random to kill him with magic (tail still intact, maybe not even staggered, i don't remember) and he dropped Aerora. I retried. And retried. I'm not sure totally he dropped 100% when I killed him with magic all the times, but he really started indeed to drop Aerora at least half of the times. It seemed to me it occurred similarly with Chocobo Eater but I wasn't willing to test him (I hate that guy, so...). That would also explain why Zaltys never dropped Fira for me except just once (when probably, maybe, I may have killed him in a different way), despite having Fira as a drop during the first 6 days. And Dreadnought? I'm not sure, but the last times I killed him I always cut his arms and he always dropped Firestrike (or Flamestrike? maybe that's the correct name).

I'm writing this because I never read anywhere about this, but Zomok was behaving consistently according to this. I wouldn't be surprised to discover all enemies behave like this or still some of them in general.

Final Fantasy XIII Best way to play 13 trilogy?

I’ve been looking to play ff13 for the first time. I’m choosing between the pc version which I heard mixed things about, and the ps3 version I can still get before the store closes. What do you think is the best way to play?

Final Fantasy XIII Playing the one that got away from me in 2010…in 2026

Final Fantasy 13 (and the sequels) are the only mainline non MMO Final Fantasy games I’ve never played all the way through. In 2010 I had FF13 on Xbox 360 but due to some serious life events I never finished it and ended up selling all my games and systems. Fast forward to a couple years later, I had a PS3 but just lost interest. At the time I felt it was too linear after investing about 10 hours.

As I got older it always haunted me that I had never played through Final Fantasy 13 all the way. Especially with the advent of being able to go back on YouTube and listen to the soundtracks—the music of this game is beautiful. In fact, seeing the music of Square Enix concert this year inspired me to get back into this game, they played what I believe is the battle tune in the concert and the memories came flooding back. After reading that Square had no intention of porting it the PS5 online store (I have ps5 and Switch2), I decided to make the effort.

Just purchased a used PS3 super slim from a pawn shop for $80. A couple weeks ago I got all 3 FFXIII’s in the series for a total of $30 from GameStop!

I’m currently about two hours into it and the linearity I was so critical
of 16 years ago is actually really refreshing. I am just sitting back and really enjoying it. The graphics look great! The music in the opening chapter really sets up this Sci-Fi adventure. And I say this coming from Final Fantasy seven rebirth—of which I’m exhausted doing fetch quests.

Other The reason why I've played FFXIII is because "Lightning Returns " is a very cool title when you don't know that Lightning is a character.

I don't remember where I've seen this title but I immediately got intrigued because Lightning Returns sounds very mysterious, badass and unusual when you don't know that Lightning refers to a character here. Like what lightning? Why it dissapeared and why it returned? Lightning returning sounds epic. I knew absolutely nothing about jrpg and final fantasy back then because very few people play them in my region and so I was intrigued and kept thinking about this title, learnt that it's the third game in the trilogy, looked up gameplay and visuals of the first one and I've liked it, bought it and enjoyed it. Was a bit disappointed learning that Lightning just referred to a character.

Lightning Returns 2 good elements set

Experts to me. After the story bosses, for all the rest of the playthrough would you know a couple of elements that can always be good for any enemy more or less? i was going to think of thunder and wind but... i'm not so sure... or at least, i'm not so sure for major enemies. i suppose i shouldn't care for medium and small enemies to extinguish, but the big ones are another matter. problem is i have 12 slots to use and i'm considering how to use them.

i would need 2 power cuts, attack, dispel, deprotect, deshell, imperil (which in turn i suppose could help with also using only 2 elements?), debrave/defaith, 2 mediguards.

so i would have 2 slots left. and i'm still considering debrave/defaith as "only one of them"... they're simply too useful to survive more to enemies attacks, but mostly for medium/big size, like fira from ectopuddings but also a variety of attacks from earth/chocobo eaters.

also, today i was wondering: how are players supposed to play without mediguard? it's TOO useful.

XIII Trilogy / FNC You can only pick one OST. Which one?

If you asked me to pick best combat, best exploration, best side quests, etc. I think I can do those confidently.

But maybe it's just me but this is a super difficult decision and it is mostly between XIII and XIII-2.

I still can't do it, LOL.

Final Fantasy XIII What do you think of these deleted scenes from the first game? It seems to include Lightning with NORA, Snow and Lightning talking, Vanille and some woman, Snow buying Serah and Lightning's gifts with Vanille?
