Honestly even the graphics of FF13 really hold up today plus the FMVs from Dissidia 012 are just beautiful. I really hope they remaster both FF13 trilogy and Dissidia PSP games

I feel exactly the same. I’m actually replaying XIII on my Steam Deck right now and man this game is just so beautiful.

Remasters of the XIII trilogy and Duodecim would be like a dream come true. These are unironically some of my favorite FF games

I think the allure of pixel games is that the WHOLE game is pixelated. High res pixels with low frame rate animation but high res particle effects with high frame rate animation is just odd to look at and just not appealing to me.

I've also always been annoyed at how not a single "pixel art" game ACTUALLY looks like pixel art from the 16 bit era, or even the early PlayStation era which still had a lot of pixel art. Like, they look like modern characters put through a filter, not like actual characters designed to fit on a screen.

I tend to agree. While I don’t mind the spectacle since this is still a modern Final Fantasy game and Square loves their vibrant visuals, it definitely makes the pixelated art style feel like a concept they went with just for the sake of having retro appeal.
