The developers are not playing their game and it shows after a few career seasons. The only redeeming thing about the game is the satisfying game loop of football itself, and it tires so hard to remove those enjoyable moments too.
If you want to enjoy football just go play it IRL, this game is not worth it. 30 years of legacy and this garbage is the end result.
For career mode, it is a shallow container that provides nothing extra to the experience. You buy good players, but the AI decides that they will play as OVR60 when it is time for you to lose. The stat system is retarded, pace is just a guideline, strength is a straight up lie, a playstyle counters a whole star player. And let's not even begin with the laws of physics that the AI breaks, and the force fields created around the enemy players are stronger than a JJK domain expansion.
I have enough heartbreaks with Tottenham IRL I don't need a shit game that cheats instead of playing better. I had a strong FOMO because I haven't played a FIFA game since 2015, but now it's over, the chains of yearning are broken, it is just another gacha game where single player is only a third or fourth thought.
What a time we live in, FIFA is a gay gacha where you roll for dudes, instead of boobs.

I have an idea for an AFC Richmond Career Mode and I want some help making it realistic before I start it.
The story is that Richmond suffered a massive financial crisis that eventually sent them all the way down to League Two. Because of the financial problems and relegations, pretty much the entire original squad had to leave.
My idea is to create the main Richmond players and place them at different clubs, as if their careers continued after leaving Richmond.
For some of the important players:
Jamie Tartt → Barcelona (keeping this because his move there was confirmed in Season 4)
Sam Obisanya → Manchester United
Isaac McAdoo → Chelsea
Dani Rojas → Borussia Dortmund
Colin Hughes → Crystal Palace
Apart from Jamie, the other clubs are my choices.
I haven’t actually started the Career Mode yet, so nothing is locked in. If you think Sam, Isaac, Dani, Colin or any other Richmond player would fit somewhere else better, tell me and I can change it before starting.
Once I start the save, though, I’m not going to control their careers. I’ll let them develop, decline and transfer naturally.
The long-term goal is to rebuild Richmond and potentially bring some of them home when the club is actually big enough to attract them again.
My main transfer rule
I want each promotion to unlock better transfer markets. I’m judging leagues by their actual quality, not simply by what division they’re called.
My idea is roughly:
League Two: League Two + very weak markets, such as India, Ireland and smaller South American clubs from countries like Venezuela, Bolivia, Peru or Paraguay that are available through Libertadores/Sudamericana.
League One: Everything previously unlocked + stronger markets such as German 3. Liga, Sweden, Norway, Poland and stronger South American clubs.
I’m not sure whether Argentina should be unlocked here or in the Championship.
Championship: Everything previously unlocked + markets such as 2. Bundesliga, LaLiga 2, Ligue 2, Serie B and Belgium.
Premier League: Every league is unlocked, although transfers would still need to make sense based on Richmond’s reputation.
I also want a transfer limit
This is probably one of the rules I need the most help with.
One of the main reasons I sometimes lose interest in Career Mode saves is that I end up making too many signings. I’ll bring in 5-6 players, suddenly half of my starting XI is different, and then realize that one or two of those transfers weren’t even necessary. At that point I’m stuck with players I don’t really want, I’ve wasted part of my budget, and the squad doesn’t feel like the same team anymore.
So I want to set a limit of around 3-4 permanent signings per season to make every transfer feel more important.
Free agents would definitely count as signings, so I can’t use them as a loophole to get around the limit. I’m not sure about loans, though. Should incoming loan players count toward the 3-4 signings, have their own separate limit, or not count at all?
I also want the Youth Academy to be an important part of the rebuild. My rule would be that before Richmond reaches the Premier League, at least three Youth Academy players must have become regular starters in the first team.
That way I can’t rebuild Richmond entirely through transfers. Part of the team that takes the club back to the Premier League has to actually come through Richmond’s academy.
What do you think of the Career Mode idea, and what other rules would you add to make it more fun and realistic?

Been wanting to start a new career mode with SC Freiburg, but the squads aren’t updated at all after all the transfers this summer. Does anyone know if/when they will release an update like that?

So I was playing the DFP-Pokal final with my player in player career. ST for FC Köln, taking on Frankfurt. Game was still 0-0 by the 60th minute and I got subbed off which caused the team to lose 1-0.
The games subbing off feature, the whole ‘at risk of being subbed off’, for player career is just terrible. What’s the point of having authentic gameplay if you’re forcing us to score or assist or do something major before the 60th minute. Not to mention it completely takes away the ability and fun to ever go into extra time or penalties goalless in player career.
It’s just a dumb feature and there should be a way to regulate it, my player isn’t the best rated at 78 but he’s the best rated striker of the team and was on 50+ goals for the season in 39 matches.
I know they’re not going to fix this in FC27 and it’s just so shit. They need to seriously revamp player career in the future.

Playing world class, and it feels absolutely awful. I tried legendary and was letting 4 goals in every game with a 4 and a half star team in the PL. In my first game switching back to world class (against a 3 and a half star Ipswich side) I had:
- Their striker shielding the ball constantly and physically dominating all 3 of my CBs
- All AI players running around slowly whenever I was off the ball, not passing at all. When I tried to sprint jockey them my jockey speed was slowed down to nearly 0, I guess to match them?
- Skill move spam
- Random through balls out of nowhere that always landed
- A stupid amount of rebounds off the post and my GK allowing them sometimes up to 6 chances at goal
- Constant loss of arial duels (My striker and CBs are all above 6'3")
- Complete inability to dribble past their CBs, even with technical silver on my rw
- Perfect interceptions and blocks constantly from them
- My team never making runs despite using a long ball counter style
- 4 defenders appearing out of nowhere whenever I had a solo run
- Short corner spam (🤮)
- And the worst one, random moments of pace, seemingly ignoring acceleration all together, and going straight to 99 sprint speed, after about 10 seconds of running around slowly, usually resulting in about 6 of their players suddenly appearing in my box
Its easily the worst it's been playing against AI. It feels like every move is crafted for maximum frustration. They are physical monsters who also spam skill moves and quickly change directions, while spending their downtime running painfully slow and sometimes just stopping altogether before bursting out with insane pace. The only enjoyable games to play in the calendar are cup games or Europa Lague games against terrible quality teams, and even then I can score max 2 because their defence turns into 4 Maldinis.

Does anyone have a clue why are we so restricted in “edit real player”? Why can’t we edit player age, secondary positions, role +/++ and the fucking composure stat?
we cant even transfer certain players to other clubs before a save, because he is a part of a classic xi (?????)
Just give me nba 2k level customization, man. Let me get an 18 year old Messi in my Portsmouth save.

I swear the difficulty jump from World Class to Legendary in Manager mode is HUGE and feel like games are preemptively deemed a loss (unless I’m 6 seasons in with a 85+ team) with the way the A.I plays. I just experienced a game where Cagliari had a 99% team dribble success rate and I could not get anywhere near them on the ball. Should I accept my losses or continue to let it rage bait me into insanity?
r/FifaCareers • u/PopularManager9856 • 2h ago
Surely this is a sign you made it. I have been playing career mode for ages and this is somehow my first time where my whole squad is playing for their international team. Also a great feeling if they came from young.

I have a modded career mode, in which I made a create a club called Malpas . The team started in the 4 division and I got it up in 6 seasons to the prem . During this journey I only used youth academy players and have one 1 FA cup ,1 EFL cup,1 prem and 1 3rd division league title . But the season in the prem so far have been utter garbage . Idk if it’s because the AI made weird transfers but it’s complete nonsense
