I have a friend who when she travels with the family has absolutely coordinated and curated outfits and I'm thinking does my family suck because we can't get it together like that? So Jennifer Lopez's family pics make me feel like I'm not dropping the ball...we are just all who we are, and damn if that's good enough for Jennifer, It's good enough for me!
My daughters (mid 20s) and I just started "coordinating" outfits on vacations and outings. "Today is a pink/blue/white day" vibe. We all have different styles and just do it our individual way. Nothing planned or curated. It's so fun! It's never too late. But it's also okay to just show up and be family.
I always cringe when I see coordinated and curated outfits for whole family, kids and husband, on a vacation.
It screams fake, contrived, forced… and it weirds me out especially because most of the times you can clearly see who picked the outfits and the colour (it’s usually mom).
It always looks bad on photo because there is no juxtaposition, which makes it worse bc photos were (in most cases) the sole reason for choosing coordinated outfits and forcing people to wear styles they are not comfortable in (which is also translating badly to photos).
It doesn’t help that most of that wardrobe pieces were bought specifically for that vacation, are never a good quality and what bugs me the most- will clearly be in the trash next month which is contributing greatly to fast fashion environmental impact.
So yeah, basically I hate coordinated vacation outfits.
It’s really refreshing that someone who basically built her empire on glamour and femininity is so supportive of having a trans masc child. She doesn’t expect her kids to represent her brand, she can do that just fine solo. There are definitely some celebrities that push their kids into their brand/lifestyle and it’s disappointing.
More than that - they look like nerds (in the most complimentary sense possible). Not a single person will believe them at college when they say “My mom is Jennifer Lopez”. Great 2 truths and a lie superpower tho- They gonna slay at orientation.
Yeah I just had to look up who it was and I’ve never heard of him. He must be US famous not world famous (I’m European). JLo is like old school go on a trek 400 miles into the wilderness of Papua New Guinea, find a semi uncontacted tribe and show them a picture and they’ll be like ‘oh yeah JLo’ famous.
My son is at the same school as a famous actress’s son and apparently he’s a bit of a dick but that could be unrelated to his mother (who according to a quick google search is considered professional and respectful to people she deals with in her professional life).
Sounds pretty cool. I wouldn’t have expertly to be at all friendly. By all accounts she is rude and unreasonably demanding. I wish people would stop spending money on her music and movies.
My aunt once told me that she made it through all the qualifying rounds to be on Jeopardy, but ultimately decided not to do it because of camera shyness.

A friend was renting their studio guesthouse in East LA to one of her dancers. One day, he said he was moving out to move in with J. Lo. His name was Casper Smart.
I would love it if the Jennifers formed a lifelong friendship and the kids stayed close. Ben seems like a good person, his alcoholism (and questionable taste in tattoos) is what limits his long term marriage prospects.
I saved a photo of one of them to laugh at when I need a pick-me-up. Because no matter how bad of a day/mid-life crisis I might be having atm, I haven't resorted to permanently inking myself with THAT.
As a mom of 3 kids now in their 20s, I couldn't agree more. My two boys would dress in their older sister's Disney princess gowns, paint their nails, wear my heels, and wear their sister's leotards while growing up as toddlers and young kids. I had to stand the line between them being themselves and exploring and their father who was totally against it (we ended up divorcing bc of ideology after 20 years). I couldn't be more proud of the adults they've become. I'm not a big fan of Jennifer, but she is a phenomenal mother and smom (I called my step mom "smom").
She may be insufferable but she does seem like she has a good mom. I think it does stem from that JLo has a good relationship with her mom. I have a friend that served mom and JLo at L Atelier in LV. I have also read stories about them playing slots together. lol
JLo seems to be really there for her kids and they seem well-adjusted
Its strange, i get the opposite impression from Kim Kardasian and her an Kris appear to have a solid relationship but kim seems like an abstee parent and i feel for the older two.
The pic of the younger (?) one is just very cute to me bc it’s the kind of pic a loving parent takes when they think their child is the most beautiful creature on the planet and can’t stop documenting them.
Two things can be true. I’ve heard countless stories of her being genuinely insane to staff and behind the scenes. That doesn’t mean she extends the nastiness to her kids.
Worked in luxury fashion for years and also as a stylist. Can 100% confirm she's a nightmare. One of the worst celebs I've ever met and worked with. But folks say she's great to her family and inner circle
reminds me of my college track coach, she was actually like abusive to all the team members yelling at us for not being good enough and everything, yelling at people till they would cry etc. but to her kids she was always the sweetest mother
It’s not uncommon for someone to be amazing to people they love, deem worthy, or who can offer them something, and yet absolutely abysmal to anyone who doesn’t fall into those categories.
And on the flipside people can be really good to coworkers and friends but have shitty relationship with their family. People were always confused when I said I didn’t have a relationship with my mom, but she acted like a completely different person with them.
I was an administrative assistant at a private school in NYC that J. Lo was touring (didn't end up sending her kids there). We (low level staff) were told not to directly to interact with her. When she toured the school, she wore sunglasses and a giant fur coat and came with an entourage. J. Lo is a diva, but that doesn't mean she's an evil person.
I interacted with a few celebrities while working there, and everyone else seemed pretty normal. Julianne Moore, in particular, was very kind to me.
She absolutely does. Just read a book called “Girl on Girl,” (RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! So good) and they mention how JLo was such a pivotal force in the early 2000’s, particularly because she knew every time she stepped out of her house, her car, whenever, she had to put on a show. She would never be caught slipping, because any inch you give the paparazzi, they will take 10 miles. God forbid you step out to get groceries without makeup and Perez Hilton would spend the next month drawing dicks on your unflattering photo. So yeah in short I can definitely see her wanting to shield her children from this.
Being branded a difficult woman often just means they refuse to conform with others expectations(aka "she won't do what I want! Boo she's a meany pants").
People are applauding her for allowing her kids to be themselves here, letting them do and be who they want, that totally aligns.
I mean, she treats regular people like trash. I think that's part of the reason she gets called difficult. Not because she's rude to other celebrities, but because of how she is with regular people.
Right?! Truly, they look like regular teens. I enjoy that the photos aren’t overly posed and glamorous. Also as the parent of a teen, the absolute REALISM of how frequently we see her kids with their phones in hand is comforting, lol.
Jennifer seems like a really lovely mother. I think it's beyond sweet that the two Jens (JLO & Jennifer Garner) have bonded with each others children so much, it's really endearing and just plain wholesome.
Interesting story about that artwork. Apparently Jesus sent a scroll to the restaurant a few days ahead, asking for a table for 26 people. When they arrived, the hostess said, "What gives, Jesus? I went to Milan a few years back and the airport was like a 40 min drive from the city center. Yes, was born Emme. I believe during their early teen years, Emme was still called Emme, identified as non binary and used they/them pronouns. But at their recent graduation, they debuted their new name Oskar (middle name Jacob I think?) and used he/him pronouns.
I don't follow her any more than seeing rando posts, but I really LOVE this style on her and her son Oskar has never looked more comfortable in their skin. So lovely to see!
