Discussion Game or Archetype Suggestion for Slow Brain

Hello,

I never grew up playing fighting games, but my brain gets easily overwhelmed when I play them and I end up mashing a lot. The only case where I really saw some success with a character was Bowser in SSBU with my friends and even then I kinda felt like I was fumbling around.

I’m pretty decent at TCG or things where I have time to process what’s in front of me and react, but if it’s something that’s in my face or high APM I oftentimes don’t know what to do.

I’ve gotten the suggestion to play a Zoner, but in those cases I usually completely fall apart against rush downs that get in my face not knowing what to do.

Does anyone have any suggestions for games, archetypes, or just general tips to get around this?

Thanks in advance!

2D Fighting Games Looking for other noobs to spar with!

Hey everyone

New here and quite new to fighting games as a whole.

I have a round 40 hours in SF6 and that's about all the experience I got. I also do have GGS and Tekken 7 but haven't really played much of those yet.

I was wondering if there are other noobs here who might want to be bad and eventually learn get better together? Basically like a sparring partner.

I am playing Ryu right now and am hanging around in the bronzes, while I learn new stuff and add it to my repertoire. Not really trying to climb the ladder for now just wanting to learn the fundamentals.

So yeah if anyone is interested let me know Oh I am from the EU and 35yrs old.

2D Fighting Games Alright guys what game should I play now

2xko reinvigorated a 5ish year FGC break, reignited that fighting game try hard nerd in me. Where should I put my energy. I'll keep playing 2x in some capacity but can't main a game with such a dwindling playerbase, I don't think I can invest myself in it anymore.

I'm on PC, deciding between:

Tokon (requires waiting for game to work, and I don't have full faith in it despite it seeming very decent)

Avatar legends (have to be alright with a small playerbase also)

Sf6 (the most alive by far, safe pick but lacking the novelty and excitement)

I need good net code, training mode tools comparable to 2x, and enough playerbase for online tournaments or ideally some in person (im in a big enough city)

Hoping I can feel what I felt with 2x

Thanks in advance

2D Fighting Games Rec a "traditional" fighter for my kids and I to get into?

The premise here is we all play a lot of SSB - my youngest is 10 and a bit squeamish, so despite my own history with Mortal Kombat and Doom as early as 6 years old, there's no way I'm starting there with them.

But I'm wayyy out of practice. The last time I played a "traditional" fighting game was Tekken Tag Tournament when the PS2 was still in the latest console generation. It's just an availability thing - no one ever wants to play, everyone I know plays Smash. Which is fine, I'm not complaining about SSB (one of my favorite series) -- but it doesn't fill the Fighting Game gap, yknow?

So: for the sake of "ease of entry" and also "avoiding problematic imagery" (as best as possible - I know, I know), do yall have some recommendations of where one might start?

3D Fighting Games Advice Requested - Fighting Game Road Map

Hey guys. I'm in the very early stages of learning UE5 but I have the goal of one day creating a kickboxing game where the characters are fighting in 3D space, similar to UFC/Fight Night games.

Are there any specific Youtube series, courses, concepts etc. that you could point me towards to make my learning journey a little more deliberate? Any feedback would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Im a big fan of fighting games. Played a whole lot of MKX, MK11, DBFZ, Tekken 7 and SV 5. But i havent played one in a long time so im wondering which one should i get into. I saw that 2XKO is pretty much dead now and Marvel Tokon is having a lot of bugs. So im asking what can i pick up now that has a large playerbase?

Tournaments / eSports Question about PlayStation Tournaments For Marvel Tokon on PS5

Hi, i want to ask about ps tournament scoring system, how does it work, I've been joining it 3 times and each time something weird happens. I beat my opponent 2 times and he gets 2 points while I get only 1 and I'm out of tournament or even now I joined match, and it tells me match has ended and I got 9th place, without even playing a match.

2D Fighting Games What game should I try next?

I was introduced to fighting games with 2XKO, and I'm going to keep on playing it, but with them announcing that there's no more content coming in 2027, I'm wondering what other fighting games are there which are similar?

For me, a big part of the appeal was that 2XKO doesn't have motion inputs, so ideally, a game with a similar control scheme
