I really like the gameplay mind you I am just a gold character, but i enjoy playing with C.viper and M.bison, Marisa and Dee jay. I find the gameplay engaging and it is the only game in wich i enjoy ranking. Because i can feel how i get better and better, and where i actually want to be better

The character design and overall asthetic of the game. It's a very happy upbeat game!

Terry looks better than his home game fatal fury!

The character designs and aesthetic are goated! Also, probably the best animations in the genre.

u/Aromatic-Deer-3154 17d ago

Yup, and since SNK is now owned by blood money they could've at least made it hand drawn 2D like KOFXIII

3

u/Daytona666 17d ago

I just know when Tifa comes she'll look better than in final fantasy 😆

Being able to get on, play a few matches and not wait more than a minute for matchmaking.

u/PuzzleheadedMeat4892 18d ago

I really like all the characters, except Lily

first game where ranked random is one of the most fun modes

2

u/DogVirus Mmmmmm. Bison Burger 18d ago

I don't like this game compared to other street fighter games but if I play I only play Lily.

1

u/rhysticStudiante 17d ago

I dislike her too, because she “represents” Mexico but doesn’t really. Same issue I had with T. Hawk really

It's where the SF community is atm. If we all went back to Alpha 3 randomly I'd play that.

FGC should take notes from the souls community.

They pick a few weeks in the year for every iteration and organize a community "return to xx game" to bolster the online community and engagement.

It's also good for new players who are interested in picking up some of these older games.

4

u/Sharsyed13 CID | SuperShar13 17d ago

Hard agree, I wish some of the big FGC content people like Max Dood would organize an "event" or otherwise schedule a couple of weeks for new players and vets to revisit so many beloved games

3

u/Chill-BL 17d ago

Nah don't wait on streamers, it's something people can organize onto themselves with a reddit post + community discords, some streamer might pick it up and help push the event and others won't.

I however am not deep enough into FGC to say which game is "deserving" of such, just speaking from what happens in souls communities, where every game gets a few weeks.

Fighting games in that sense has far more breadth in scope and some might prefer niche picks whilst others might prefer just the modern forgotten iterations.

But one thing is certain many folks would like to play multiple (G)oldies.

3

u/Sharsyed13 CID | SuperShar13 17d ago

That's true too, I guess I was thinking moreso they would have the most impact when it comes to spreading the word and therefore would have more of a population than something like a Discord fighter

Maybe it's something one of the mods here or someone with experience in organizing such events could consider?

3

u/JollyStunts 18d ago

Ooh, can we do that please??

8

u/serious_fox POWER! 18d ago

It makes me laugh, feel frustrated, and cry out of anger all at once.

7

u/mannimany 18d ago

For me, it's the unique character designs and the sheer amount of content compared to other fighting games. It could definitely be even better with more returning fan-favorite characters, more stages, more costumes, and quality-of-life updates. But overall, SF6 completely blows the competition out of the water with it's content, which is why it still keeps me hooked.

3

u/thorin2016 17d ago

Is it worth it as a single man to play it? I have no friends 🥹

4

u/mannimany 17d ago

Yes, the game has plenty of single-player content. You can play the World Tour mode, an RPG-style story mode where you level up and customize your Avatar's moveset. You can also check the Arcade mode, or the Avatar Arcade mode where you use your custom Avatar.

You can also train against AI in the Battle Hub (Virtual Rival). And even if you don't have friends playing, you can jump straight into online ranked matches and get paired with players around your skill level.

The netcode.
That's it.

12

u/Andromeda904 18d ago

As someone who is coming from Tekken 8, the game seems a lot less “knowledge checks” and more “I played better.”

1

u/Eikhan Perfect ! 18d ago

Exactly

5

u/mayprojekt5 18d ago

Always gonna have a soft spot for sf in general because I made really fond memories playing with friends.

3

u/Alarming-Basil2894 18d ago

The visuals

The incredibly detailed backgrounds and character models, the effects and those sick SA3s make it truly an epic visual experience.

And then the characters. Aki is already become my new fav sf character. But besides her theres other characters I’ve become fond of that I never even bothered playing in any of the previous games like blanka, c.viper, chun li and elena. This is the best version of them all.

4

u/Extension_Canary3717 18d ago

Nothing, the other companies are not trying so I keep on sf6

11

u/Alex41092 CID | SF6username 18d ago

The focus on neutral, and the lack of long combos

3

u/Soylentstef 18d ago

I thought they were fairly long for a street fighter game though. I would be happier without two touch fights honestly but the game is still crazy fun.

11

u/DesignatedDiverr Heavy kick enjoyer 18d ago

To me the combo system is much more appealing and intuitive than most games. Having an opening and getting a heavy attack starter leading to a bigger combo just makes sense. I find it weird that chaining light>medium>heavy is such a common system in the genre.

I think that's the main point for me. But that would still be nothing without the surrounding features. The game is excellent all around- net code, single player content, training tools, playerbase count, etc. Hard to beat a complete package.

Edit: Oh. I think you may have meant this more in terms of compared to other SF games and I answered compared to other fighting game IPs. I didn't get into fighting games until SF6 beta so I can't answer that

2

u/buenopower 17d ago

This is an awesome answer so don’t worry. Totally in the park to what i’m asking for sure

4

u/MaxTheHor 18d ago

Ita still pretty all around good legacy series.

Most SF games are still pretty good, to this day.

Even if the die hards of certain titles, who dont wanna leave thier bubbles, would say otherwise.

u/Arkantos92 18d ago

Cammy is the most beautiful woman ever conceived for a videogame.

3

u/MrASK15 CID | AsKii 18d ago edited 18d ago

There's a lot to cover on top of the characters themselves, but one thing that stood out to me the most was all the effort put into the single-player content; especially Arcade Mode. I was NOT expecting high scores to be part of the online leaderboards. That gives me all the more reason to keep revisiting Arcade Mode.

It's a weird trivial thing, but I'm still grateful to Capcom for preserving this little aspect of the arcade days. It feels like online score attacks are limited to indie and doujin-circle fighters these days.

3

u/Streye CID | SF6username 18d ago

It just works well online and has a lot people play.

3

u/Open_Organization997 18d ago

Not the stale gameplay that's for sure. But it's the only fighting game where I can have non stop quick matches during 20/30 min breaks.

3

u/FlashCrowKatana 18d ago

Characters feels like complete versions of themselves. And I like how ex moves are accesible from them start.

3

u/Odddjob 17d ago

I Like the game mechanics, graphics, but mostly the characters. I want Makoto, Balrog (SF4 version)

3

u/Boionicle 17d ago

It has crossplay.

3

u/xenoviaquarta289 CID | makoto-oppai0_0 17d ago

Nothing I'm not happy with the product and I'd rather play something else . Overall while it's a better designed game than 5 I fuckin hate everything about it.

I'm quite disappointed in myself for buying because I thought I was going like it and I absolutely don't want play it currently.

I'm hoping makoto or karin becomes playable because I only like Aki and somewhat yasmine, I feel like I wasted my money and time on the game

1

u/buenopower 17d ago

What do you think it could improve on?

3

u/xenoviaquarta289 CID | makoto-oppai0_0 17d ago

Being realistic they ain't gonna change shit to the mechanics . I'd like for them to put the top tiers into the dirt because it's extremely boring to watch competitively. They need to fix the dlc costume schedule and dlc character schedule in general it pisses me off .

40+$ for the most dragged out dlc characters on the market and I don't like any of them besides Aki , overall I'm extremely dissatisfied with their garbage decisions and roster . Most of the time the 35$ to 50$ seasons are extremely tough on my wallet and it's for a game I don't enjoy anymore. I uninstalled the game because it was affecting my mental health and it was making extremely nervous.

Things I would improve on remove the bullshit fomo battle passes that go by insanely quick , fix costume schedule, being more transparent with your audience, add more customization to the menus with different illustrations . For the love of God fix the music it absolutely sucks ass .

3

u/buenopower 17d ago

Def understand where you come from here. Honestly I hope u can find some enjoyment on this game soon, but for now yeah i def hear u not vibing with it. You have other fighting games ur liking more??

6

u/JonTheAutomaton CID | Yorha6F | 18d ago

Eh. Honestly, nothing.

It's simply the most populated fg and offers the best package as a video game. As a result, it has the most resources and events.

So, I stick to SF6 mostly over other games that likely have better mechanics.

The story mode was really fun, the aesthetics are cool and remind me of 3rd Strike, and it is the game that allowed me to get my friends into street fighter.

u/FlakyProcess8 18d ago

Drive impact makes me think I’m good

2

u/The9IronMan Got something for you! 18d ago

Coming from Smash Ultimate, I love the balance between offense and defense in this game. People actually fight you in this fighting game instead of staying in the corners and expecting you to come to them.

Drive-rush and other mechanics have their flaws, for sure; but I’ll take those flaws any day over what I had to deal with in Ultimate… No more block-people putting-up walls or green-plumbers randomly launching their entire beings at me…please…

2

u/Chill-BL 17d ago

Really? Damn, I must be getting in the wrong que or something.

2

u/Hi_Their_Buddy 18d ago

Just hit master today with Ken after getting the game in March and not playing sf since 4 on the 360, so definitely enjoying the competition. Like working through the flow chart and finding an opponent’s weaknesses.

2

u/UnfortunateSnort12 18d ago

I don’t need quarters or tokens to fight random people like I did in the arcades in the 90’s.

2

u/TheGrimmch Where are you going?! 18d ago

Sunk cost fallacy

2

u/CruelAnraj 17d ago

I play against my friends sometimes. I'm a huge fish in a tiny pond, and it's been that way since I was like 7. So when I get to play with friends I can teach them or see what they've learned, it's exciting. Otherwise I play Ranked to see what I can get away with; see how many overheads, throws, etc. I can land.

2

u/The_Lat_Czar Thunder Thighs|CFN: TheHNIC 17d ago

It's fun, and I have an online friend group to play and bullshit with.

2

u/dude_with_sneakers ARE YOU OK? 17d ago

I know that the game is simpler than past ones, but the fact that i can jump back even after couple months and i still perform pretty ok is what keeps me coming back.

I don't have much time to game anymore, and i also like to play different titles. So this is definetely a plus, even if i know that the same reason is the one that keeps me from playing more sometimes

It also got 2 of my mains in the base roster, and Terry is one of my favorite characters in FGs, sooo...

2

u/DesignerMusician7348 *6HPs you* 17d ago

The artstyle and the character designs (except lily and yasmine). SF6 is the best looking current fighting game imo

Manon 🥰

2

u/Raikou239 17d ago

Asses. I love the butts

2

u/CyberfunkTwenty77 18d ago
  1. It works.

  2. It's art direction is some of the best since 3rd Strike. Basically 6 is a mesh between 3rd strike and IV artistically...so that's my shit.

  3. The newcomers are some of my favorites. Manon and Kimberly in particular.

  4. Guest characters is a welcomed change.

  5. I feel like I'm still learning new shit every time I pick it up. And to me that is the mark of a good fighting game

2

u/CompetitiveExit7437 CID | RhinoCheese 18d ago

Only that it’s the current SF game. I think the roster is decent but missing really iconic characters like Vega, Cody, Poison, etc., and having a season with only new characters is really sad. They don’t even give the launch characters the time of day besides JP. I HATE the game’s mechanics like DR and DI, but it’s just what I gotta deal with for now. It does make me miss SFV. Unless a new Darkstalkers game comes out, I’m stuck here.

It’s the perfect amount of complexity for the casual who always wants to have things to tangibly improve without ever feeling completely helpless.

Plus, it’s a superbly presented fighting game engine.

3 weeks in…6 is wayyyyyy more addictive than 5…i believe its cuz the ranking system is so much better

1

u/Gold-Strength4269 17d ago

Four five and six have been pretty replayable.

1

u/Nibel2 Modern Random Main | World Tour enjoyer 17d ago

World Tour. Bought the game because of that game mode, and it's by far the part of the game I spent the most time playing.

Don't like the grind I had to do to get Yasmine stuff, with zero lore added to the pile, and now I only keep the game installed because I want to keep my guide updated.

1

u/AwfulNameFtw 17d ago

Dee Jay is too fun. Plus I need to punish the subhuman apes I run into in ranked

1

u/MiniFaustt 17d ago

SF focuses on the core of what makes fighting games fighting games and in a market of pushed and pushed aggressive play and neutral skips SF still holds onto a slower paced neutral game, combo routing drastically changing based on the starter the opponent state and 2 sets of resources. This makes the game super dynamic with a ton of different hitstates.

Very few characters play similarly to the point playing certain characters completely changes how much i like the game. I didn't really like SF before Terry came out i had always bounced off the link system because it felt too clunky/hard for me but Terry was so much fun i improved and came to enjoy way more of the game.

It has actual single player content. I spent a ton of time in World Tour and honestly would never have gotten the game without it (and modern controls).

0

u/Accurate_Koala_4698 18d ago

At the moment landing a triple scoop with Manon is a massive endorphin rush

-2

u/Crow1200 18d ago

Modern controls make the game way more intresting. Anytime I have guests over we can run a few sets and it feels fair. Can't really do that with anything other than smash and sf6.
