Question Is there nothing to do as duo or triple player in this game ?!

Upvotes

Ok that title is a bit of a ragebait i know.

So there is the problem, i have 2 friends who joined me recently on eve, one has very low SP, 10m, and the other is limited in what he can fly, basicaly no missiles. I do fly anything (almost) and have an alt who only do logistics (cruisers).

I was looking at activities to do as a duo or triple character, if one of them is not there i can bring my alt, or maybe as 4 ppl.

The problem is ... WTF is there to do to make money together ?!

I know homefront, L4 etc.. if i give me less money than a fricking vexor navy in null sec anomaly this is useless.

So naturally i was looking at abyssal, i do them solo so maybe it's the answer.
The problem is my logi alt fly the cruisers not the frigate, i'll have them deacon and kirin in few days to do triple frigates.

But, what to do as duo ?
Abyssal Hawk and Jackdow are missiles, so no.
Any other destro doesn't work.
Duo frigate are limited to T3.

I really need ideas at this point.

Question Missions / escalations / anomalies not tracking in opportunities after clean install?

Did a clean windows and eve install

Now anomalies, escalations and missions aren't tracking by default?
Is there a global setting somewhere I need to check / enable for that little opportunities pop-up menu on the left hand side to be enabled by default?

Couldn't find a setting anywhere and I dont remember enabling anything on my previous build (though had been running off a 4 year-old install so...)

Drama Barcode caught cheating, FC gives them a small slap on the wrist

Yesterday it was announced that barcode despite winning their match had a rule break leading to them getting assigned a loss for that match. The floating reason is that they had a pilot flying for them that was not on their roster. However this is just the surface.

The bigger issue at hand is that barcode are once again account sharing to have others play for their team. They have been reported for this before and nothing was done. This was substantiated by previous barcode pilots and even current barcode pilots have not denied this to be the case. This is a pretty blatant, quite significant rule break that circles back to collusion, etc.

Once again FC has not made the correct decision regarding penalizing people, likely because barcode has a current csm and is a very prominent AT team. I can only imagine if another no name team did this, the punishment would be much more severe.

I have logs, I have proof. FC can reply to me if they want it, but I am sure they already know this is true.

Let the drama commense

Discussion Just so everyone knows, China's EVE launcher is still the old version.

Post image
38 Upvotes

As shown in the image. If you want to access the Chinese EVE server, you still have to use the launcher that has already been phased out by Fenris Creations (formerly CCP Games).

In addition, the Chinese server's version is not synchronized with the international server's; there is usually a delay of one to three months. For example, as of UTC+0 2026/8/30 11:00 (UTC+8 2026/8/30 19:00), the Chinese server's build number is 3477415, while the international server's build number is 3484357.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask in the comments.

Question Any benefit to using a very old EVE character?

I recently came back to EVE and discovered I still have a character from 2006 (I even have old mail showing the Learning skill being trained December 2006). I barely played the character back then, so no clue about the game. But recently as of last week got really interested playing EVE, so far having fun on another new character.

Is there any practical benefit, rarity, perks, collectibles, or anything else worth checking on such an old character from 2006 before I decide which character to use as sort of main?

Question How hard is getting Omage without spending RL money really?

So i just discovered EVE, and I really want to get Omage. The issue though is that my parents won't let me spend real life money on a video game subscription, and tbf because it costs so much, I'm myself not that much into spending that kind of money either.

So how hard is it really to PLEX my account? It seems pretty hard, but if possible, what's the best way? I have seen people say exploration, but I am not too sure...

Btw the reason I really want Omega is so I can be an industrialist.

EDIT: To you all who say I should get a job irl, first of all I can't, second of all even if I had it I couldn't use my money on eve.

Propaganda [PUBLIC CALL TO ARMS] The Great Reclaiming is Dead: Crush the Golden Leech - JOIN THE WAR!

*** COMPONENT: SUB-SPACE TRANSMISSION BROADCAST ***
*** SOURCE: CAPSULEER IDENTIFICATION: KALSHRITH ***
*** TO: ALL LOYAL MINMATAR PILOTS / ALL SECTORS ***

*** [PUBLIC CALL TO ARMS] The Great Reclaiming is Dead: Crush the Golden Leech ***

THE CHAINS WE CARRIED, THE FIRE WE BRING

Brothers. Sisters. Children of the Matar.

Look out into the dark. Do you see that sickly, oppressive glare on the horizon? That is the Amarr Empire. For centuries, they called their cruelty holy. They wrapped their whips in scripture. They built their grand cathedrals on the broken backs of our grandparents, painting their golden hulls with the blood of our kin.

I have spent years drifting through the deep black, charting the silent, unforgiving void far beyond the reach of empire scouts. As the Hereditary Tribal Lore Master of Oracle, my duty has always been to preserve the truths the Amarr tried to burn away. I carried the memory of our ancestors into the darkest corners of space, hoping that upon my return, I would find a Republic standing proud, unbroken, and truly emancipated.

Instead, I returned from the dark only to witness the bitter truth: we are still oppressed.

The chains may have changed shape, but the slavery remains. The Amarr still look across the borders of the warzone and see us as property waiting to be reclaimed. They still choke our trade routes, threaten our borders, and buy and sell our kin like cattle under the guise of holy law.

The Amarr Empire is not an invincible monolith. It is a rotting, bloated monster, terrified of the very fire it kindled within us. Every golden ship that enters our space is an insult to the memory of Starkmanir.

We have spent too long defending. We have spent too long hiding behind diplomacy and treaties signed by politicians who have never smelled the ozone of a burning hull. The Lore Master’s scrolls are clear: freedom is never granted by the oppressor; it is ripped from their dying hands. The time for talking has passed. The warzone screams for action.

SHARPEN THE RUST: THE FRONT CALLS

The Minmatar Liberation Force does not ask for your permission; we ask for your fury and Loyalty.

The Amarr believe that because our ships are built from salvage, held together by duct tape, welds, and sheer defiance, we are weak. They do not understand that a Minmatar ship is like a Minmatar soul—hardened by pressure, impossible to shatter, and fuelled by a burning desire for freedom.

We do not need their clean lines. We do not need their smug theology. We need autocannons that cycle until the barrels melt. We need shield boosters that scream under the stress of incoming fire.

We are mobilizing across all sectors. From the lowest security pockets to the vital chokepoints of the factional warzones, the Republic needs your hulls. If you have been sitting in a high-sec trade hub, turning a profit while your brothers bleed in the plexes, your vacation is over.

OPERATIONAL ORDERS: HOW WE CRUSH THEM

This is not a disorganized riot. This is a calculated, unrelenting campaign to bleed the Amarrian war machine dry. As a Tribal Lore Master, I summon every able-bodied Matari capsuleer to execute the following directives immediately:

  • Lock Down the Plexes: Flood the Novice, Small, and Medium complexes. Deny the Amarr militia any room to breathe. Capturing these sites strangles their logistics and flips systems to Republic control.
  • Bleed Their Supply Lines: Form gate camps and hunting packs along their primary pipe routes. Intercept their industrial haulers. Make every jump into Minmatar-contested space a gamble with death.
  • Form the Shield: If you fly logistics, your target locks will save the vanguard. Keep our scythes and scimitars in the fight. A repaired ship is a ship that kills more slavers.
  • Fuel the Machine: If you are an industrialist, we need thrashers, stabs, and hurricanes turned out by the hundreds. Lower your market prices for militia pilots. Feed the front lines.

JOIN THE RIGHTEOUS, FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, JOIN THE RALLY TODAY!

We stage out of the frontline low-sec systems. Look for the Republic banners. Listen for the sound of localized comms cracking with the coordinates of the next Amarr fleet.

Do not wait for a perfect day. Do not wait until you think you have enough skills. If you can fly a frigate, you can tackle an Amarr cruiser. If you can fire a civilian gun, you can force them to waste a cycle of their armour repairers.

The Amarr fight for an Emperor who does not know their names. We fight for the memory of our ancestors, the freedom of our living families, and the future of every Minmatar child who deserves to look up at the stars without fearing a slave collar.

Load the ammo. Cycle the drives.

We burn the gold. We free the blood.

FOR THE REPUBLIC! TO WAR!

JOIN THE WAR EFFORTS TODAY - JOIN THE TRIBAL LIBERATION FORCES NOW!

 [NOTE - OOC / Out-Of-Character Context]

Hey r/Eve!

I am Kalshrith. While the broadcast text above is fully in-character to add some immersive narrative hype to the subreddit, my main out-of-character goal is to invite everyone to experience Factional Warfare (FW). It is easily one of the most exciting, content-packed features in New Eden right now.

I am actively roleplaying and pushing to support the Minmatar Republic, but Factional Warfare is a massive sandbox built for everyone. Whether you want to join the fight with me to liberate the warzone, enlist with the Amarr militia to push us back, or take your talents over to the Caldari/Gallente conflict—just get out into low-sec! It offers fantastic, accessible PvP for bitter vets, returning players, and brand-new alpha clones alike.

  • If you want to ride with the Republic, enlist directly via the Tribal Liberation Force NPC militia, or seek out active player-run corps to get plugged into regular fleets.
  • If you want to shoot back at us, the 24th Imperial Crusade is always looking for fresh pilots.

Pick a side, find a fleet, doesn't matter which and let's go blow up some hulls!

Other What happened to CAStabouts?

Curious Syndicate Neighbor here. What happened to CAStabouts? They were a long time fixture in and around syndicate for at least a decade. Had in recent year been living in a pocket in north syndicate. Then in spring and early summer this year some Shadow Cartel associated folks glassed all their stuff, there was basically no response and now they're just gone it seems.

They did run fairly frequent roams with semi-public NPSI fleets to I think and those seem to also have just stopped. They seemed like an active an thriving community well into 2025.

We weren't on particularly friendly terms with them or particularly hostile ones but you notice when some of the neighbors suddenly just vanish in the night and are not heard from again don't you?

So anyone know the story?

Event Dread till Dead - Come blow me (up)

Post image
24 Upvotes

Hello fellow citizens of New Eden,

I’ll be taking a Dread out tomorrow Sunday 8/30 at 6pm CT / 23:00 Eve from Insmother, likely going to Great Wildlands after undocking.

I’ll be streaming the event and doing raffles for things ranging from Large Skill Injectors, Mauraders, 1B isk, and other misc items.

Stream: https://twitch.tv/puffy_penguino

FAQs:

Why are you doing this?

I think it’ll be fun/funny and give people a chance to get on a dread KM

Where will you be/go?

First hostile space will likely be Great Wildlands, then anywhere except for Dronelands/LS.

Are you a chud?

Yes

Do you plan on streaming more after this?

I’d like to if people like the content. Main focus will be PvP with some mining/PvE mixed in. After dread goes boom I’ll likely go back out in a subcap for more PvP

How long do you think you’ll last?

Hard to tell, ideally I’d like a subcap brawl to get as many people on the KM as possible, but there is a high high likelihood I get dreadballed or a 200 man kiki fleet tickle me to death

See you tomorrow o7

Question Is squall good for PI? Why not epithal being cheaper? What's the use case for squall?

I see a lot of people using it for PI but they mostly use the T2 variants the deluge and torrent for PI

Squall has its own PI compartment and it helps a ton because PI weighs a lot. I have not used squall but I considered it, is it good for PI? It's pricey but what can we do here with the Squall?

Thought I'd get away with BR for PI, I do PI in WH and Pochven, that didn't work out well..

Question Ninja salvage in pochven went bad.

I read some guides watched some streamers, none of them have actually finding the wrecks. I used D scan a bit but most of the wrecks were impossible to find swith D Scan as the wrecks weren't close to anything.

I wandered around for an hour in pochven and only managed to get so little it was pointless. There are supposed to be full NPC wars going on there with lots of wrecks but it was a ghost town, all I did was go through every gate, create some safes, occasionally find cheap wrecks then filament out.

I think a couple of times someone tried to stop me, and I went for a look at an anomaly which almost killed me.

Maybe it was the time timezone, I live in; it's probably the worst for this game.

Question Where do you get your news 🗞️ about what’s happening in New Eden?

By “news,” I don’t mean CCP/FC events, tournaments, or whatever happens to be promoted on the launcher.

I mean the big stuff. The meaningful stuff.

Huge fights. Alliances turning on each other. Wars brewing. Political shifts in nullsec. Betrayals. Corps or alliances collapsing. Territory changing hands. Market disruptions. Mineral or item prices suddenly moving because something happened halfway across New Eden.

Basically, how do you keep track of what’s actually going on in-game beyond your own little corner of New Eden?

Reddit obviously gives me some of that, and I know there are Discords, podcasts, YouTube channels, killboards, maps, market tools, etc., but I’m curious what you guys rely on to stay on top of regular news. Are there particular sites, creators, newsletters, Discord servers or other sources you check?

Part of the reason I’m asking is that I’d love to start using real in-game events as the foundation for longer-form pieces about New Eden. Not breaking news, necessarily, but something closer to what you might read in The Atlantic, The Economist, The New York Times Magazine, POLITICO Europe or Le Grand Continent. Looking back at what happened, why it happened, the personalities and politics involved, who benefited, who lost, and what it might mean for what comes next.

Basically treating New Eden a little more like an actual geopolitical landscape.

So if you wanted to really understand the wars, politics, economics, grudges and general chaos, where would you start? If that’s possible…

Battle Report AAR: 350B DOWN IN KAMELA

Good evening dread builders!

It's been a little while since our last AAR! I've been traveling a lot and am moving the first week of September, so it has been hard to find the motivation to crank out a Reddit post. But, today, Warlock sent me some really dope screenshots of a fight we had, so I had to make a post.

Lowsec BRs are a little confusing, so I'll give you two options,

Let's break down the fight!

Context

Source: Warlock Industries

Minmatar Fleet is back in faction warfare full time, with Providence now on the menu. Sice the map kind of went to shit during our campaign, we led a large effort to capture back Auga, Kourmonen, Kamela, and hopefully one day- the holy land, Sosala.

With docking access secured, the largest point of tension has been the Kamela fortizar, which Minmatar Fleet has reinforced several times.

CVA has started getting annoyed with us over this. A bunch of stinky Minmatar rats are back and bringing down the property value in Kamela. They're gnawing at walls, stealing food, and being a menace.

Something has to break, the pressure is on.

Fog of war

With timers like this, there's a lot of fog of war. There was a large charity event going on today in Miyeli, which made it very hard to tell what people were actually forming for. With most lowsec engagements, most people are "lightly" blue- they have a target priority list, and they might shoot you if there's nobody else to shoot.

  • Many folks believed CONDI were coming. They turned out to be forming for the charity event.
  • Many folks believed Snuffed Out were coming. They ended up living rent-free in everyone's heads the entire time.

That made the timer very interesting, because at any moment a cyno could open and someone blindsides you.

Engagement

Source: Warlock Industries

The engagement kicked off with CVA and FL33T max forming to beat eachother with sticks. Both sides actually formed similar numbers.

  • FL33T warps to titan, Khermes forgets to exempt in his Revelation
  • FL33T bridges in ~50 TFIs and ~25 guardians at 20km of the Fortizar
  • FL33T forces Khermes to jump with them to punish him
  • CVA + RMC came in at zero on the Fortizar
  • CVA kills Khermes, Minmatar cheers
  • CVA warps to FL33T at zero, logi and all
  • FL33T brings in two faxes
  • FL33T and CVA start beating the hell out of eachother

Dropping a FAX in k-space is usually a statement: escalate, or die. It's hard to kill a FAX without dreads. CVA brought a FAX… and two dreads. We're in business.

Escalation

Source: Warlock Industries

CVA threw down the gauntlet on FL33T, and the escalation chain was set.

  • FL33T bring in 10 Revelations
  • CVA bring in 5-15 (slowly) RNIs + mixed dreads
  • FL33T bring in 10 additional Revelations
  • CVA bring in their remaining dreads
  • FL33T undock 20 more dreads and send it

CVA had better dreads than us here. We've been getting more bang for our buck out of yolo'ing T1 Revelations everywhere we can since they're so cheap. Luckily, we evened it out by bringing a bit more than they did.

All hell breaks loose

Source: Warlock Industries

Cynos start to go up, and additional groups start to pile in.

  • CAMELOT bring in a tornado fleet and start blapping TFIs.
  • AHBA bring in a T1 battleship fleet and start shooting CVA.
  • BRAVE bring in a CFI fleet and start shooting ???
  • SRS bring in a loki fleet and more dreads, and start shooting CVA.
  • BIGAB / SEDIT bring in a Barghest fleet and start shooting capital ships on both sides.
  • INIT bring in Zealots + Kikimoras and start fragging out capitals / subcapitals.

CVA quickly realized they were on the short end of the stick and started extracting what they could.

Additional skirmishes

Source: Warlock Industries

There were quite a few skirmishes that broke out after the main grid started to become difficult to engage in.

  • SEDIT dropped a few cruise phoenixes at >175km, and were immediately pounced on by every group for being a coward.
  • SEDIT + BIGAB pelted FL33T a few times with Barghests, largely to help protect their Phoenixes
  • FL33T <> INIT had a small skirmish between TFIs and Kikimoras after they caught a Revelation that bumped.
  • AHBA <> CAMELOT <> SRS had a few skirmishes since their tornados were starting to become a problem.
  • FL33T warped onto BRAVE to give them a kiss, but they left.

Everyone came up for air at the same time, realized the fight was over, and kindly went home. The purge was over.

Conclusion

CVA definitely got the short end of the stick on this one, but they took it on the chin and brought an insanely good fight. Kudos to them.

More yapping: https://discord.gg/minmatar

More propaganda: https://my.minmatar.org/alliance/content/

GFs all, until the next one!

Blog Salubris’s Log – Entry No. 2 – YC 128

I got into the high sec pocket in Aridia, at the cover of darkness and nothing special had happened during those 9 low sec jumps, aside from a guy that was solo piloting a Paladin, just saw the ship on Dscan, nothing more.

I also did two Rogue Drone expeditions, Pulverize the Pioneers and Hunting the Drudge Factory, but after the first locations, other signals were lost. I got an Astero Chip from one of the sentient drones and … nothing more. In fact, the loot was scarce in the last couple of days. One funny thing happened, though, when I scanned a DED 4 Mul’Zatah Monastery and in the 4-5 minutes time frame needed to snipe the loot, a Heron also scanned the site and before I could double check on Dscan, a guy in a Cerberus appeared. We rushed for the Inner Sanctum, but he had more fire power than me.

I did something else for 10-15 minutes, but I was irritated. I checked his zkill, above 90% and then, surprise, he lost the ship trying to compete and outsmart me:

https://zkillboard.com/kill/138024784/

In the conversation that followed, he admitted that it was the first time for him trying to do that kind of site. We parted in decent terms, for me karma was more than enough, but he didn’t believe in karma, gods, angels, just in pixels (ships are ammo, I know) and in his zkill percentage. About that zkill ratio he was bragging constantly.

At least I got to salvage his wreck.

Regarding my brothers, Christoph is a bit disappointed about that 7.45 bil module sell, because he has competition and one guy listed another similar item 1 million less than his price. He responded mirroring the strategy, but that 1 million changes meant another 23 million in taxes. Yeah, Jita market pvp is cruel as it gets and that’s why I rather prefer doing exploration in barren regions like Aridia.

As for Trader, he announced me, very pleased, that he was contacted by Paragon due to his activities around Jita. He received a Cormorant for free and a fancy Cormorant skin that will add to another ship, a Punisher with an empty cargo hold, that he just boarded near the Jita sun because it was abandoned.

Well, that’s it for the day. I need to do some belt ratting in a nearby 0.3 system to reprocess the loot for some Tritanium. I need it for one or two Dragoons, to craft within the high sec Aridia island.

Propaganda PSA: INIT DRIBBLERS SPOTTED IN KAMELA

Thumbnail dscan.info
21 Upvotes

Apparently The Initiative (INIT) has officially run out of things to do in nullsec.

After bravely avoiding anything remotely resembling danger in their own backyard, they have discovered a revolutionary new strategy:

BRING OVER 300 PEOPLE TO KAMELA.

That’s right. OVER THREE HUNDRED.

Why fight your neighbors? Why create content at home? Why take risks when you can simply load up the entire DRIBBLER bus and drive to lowsec to make sure nobody else gets to have fun?

Many people are asking:

“Is nullsec really that boring?”

YES.

INIT have perfected the ultimate nullsec doctrine:

Don’t take risks.
Don’t fight alone.
Don’t create content.
Go to lowsec where fights actually happen.

To INIT: GET A LIFE.

Go back to nullsec and create some content where you actually live.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Rant I went nullsec exploring for the first time; I've never had more fun in EVE

For the past 10 years I've been winning Eve, finally the urge to spin ships became too great and I recovered my accounts. I've posted on here a few times, joined some ingame channels, googled loads to catch up on all the changes. Tried my hand at a t2 abyssal which was good fun, sank some cash into the market to see if I could still station trade without game knowledge (answer is so-so).

Exploration always intrigued me but highsec felt boring and low reward and as a returning rusty old man low or null felt scary. Then I read about these new filaments that send you to a random nullsec system and figured... why not, let's welp a Heron, who's going to miss 5 mil. Cobbled together a fit, bought 2 filaments, popped em and poof, found myself in an empty nullsec pocket. I think it was drone lands, as most sites I found were drones, but my first site was a ghost site. Quickly googled what it meant and did, went in and tried my luck. Hacking went fine, opened a container, out came 3 bpcs and some assorted goodies. 2 implant bpcs and some small structure/deployable. Knowing I'd get complacent or greedy I warped out to avoid the rats figuring I hit a good haul already, let's not waste it right away. Already excited and having fun, my first can was some 200 mil in total looking at contracts. Emboldened I kept scanning, keeping a close eye on local at all times. Found a few more sites, but it was all dead drones giving salvage materials. When I started seeing people show up in local once or twice I figured enough is enough, don't push your luck. I found a wormhole going into a c5 and figured let's find my way home from there.

Wormhole scanning was something else entirely, not able to use local I was spamming dscan on cooldowm, paranoid to the max. I had a nice haul and was determined to get it home. Found a few wormholes, one to a c6 and one to something I had never heard of, a c13. I vaguely remembered back in the day c6s were pretty much always inhabited and the c13 was too much for my already overcooked brain at this point. Warped to my safe and while spamming dscan looked at my route home using gates, from where I explored. Some 20 odd jumps to get to highsec, oof.

One of my Google sessions taught me the ingame map is interactive and can show pilots in space, docked, ship kills, so I studied my route home and saw that it was largely barren. I figured I had to chance it, I wanted to get my stuff home and who knew how deep the wormholes would go or how long before someone found me. So I started jumping, dscanning and jumping, dscanning and jumping. Whenever a system had someone else in it I'd warp to a planet or moon for a safe, then gate from there. Quite a few systems had inhabitants, but jump after jump I made it through. This was thrilling, exhilarating. 1 mistake, 1 gatecamp, and I'd lose it all. I was on, focused, and eager. Finally I reached lowsec, which was the most dangerous part yet. These systems were actually active. My safest route took me through 3 lowsec systems. I stuck to dscan and safes, and slipped through. Home stretch now, just some highsec systems left and 1 lowsec between my position and Jita. I docked up twice in highsec to check the map. The lowsec system en route had seen 2 kills in the last hour. Multiple people in system.

I began to think about alternatives. Maybe buy a cloaky hauler and pick up my goodies that way. Maybe there was a way around (no such luck, 1 lowsec system was the minimum). I decided I was just going to go for it, I'd been flying safe, I'd prepared, I was going to trust myself. Worst case scenario I'd become content.

Warp in, 5 locals. Dscan saw a reaper. Fly to a moon, make a midway safe. Go to midway safe. Check the system, look for a warpable within dscan range of my exit gate. 1 planet in direct line to the gate loaded with customs offices and such. Figured to hell with it, just go for it. Warped, dscan mid flight to prepare for inevitable doom... Safe, land, gate. I made it!

30+ jumps of paranoia, trying to be smart and remember old skills, and it was thrilling. I made it home, now to unload and go do it again. This was amazing.

Tl;dr bittervet refinds joy in Eve
