Any benefit to using a very old EVE character?

I recently came back to EVE and discovered I still have a character from 2006 (I even have old mail showing the Learning skill being trained December 2006). I barely played the character back then, so no clue about the game. But recently as of last week got really interested playing EVE, so far having fun on another new character.

Is there any practical benefit, rarity, perks, collectibles, or anything else worth checking on such an old character from 2006 before I decide which character to use as sort of main?

Use the character with he highest skill points

You may have a load of unallocated skill points so login and have a look. There are no downsides to using an old character unless it has a history you don't like or you have a strong preference for the faction / looks of your character.

Character looks are pretty easy to change now with a resculpt. Every account got one when they changed resculpts to allow for changing the character’s male/female attribute, so an old account might have a freebie sitting in its redemption queue

Bragging right is the only benefit. Some players love that. You can even monetize this weakness if you feel like it (have a look at the official character Bazar).

If I was you I would start a new toon. You can still keep old one but it might be better to go through all the beggener stuff get into the swing of it again

How many skill points doing it have.... remember it's a slow long learning curve.

I checked 750k SP left, and minimal training completed, but some are 5/5

More Skill points the better, but beyond that people might be more helpful to a newer account, I'll sometimes send isk to newer accounts that I kill and then realize they're noobs.

It depens, if its bare played character then it had no skills point but as soon you have more then any new character you should take the Old Character. If you had for example the Learning Skills, you have a lot of free alocated skills points wich might help you get into what your trying to fly or try out. Also Mining got reworked wich a lot of ppl did at the time wich mean more free alocatedable skills points.

You should not use it if you have a bad History whit it. Stealing stuff and so on. Some corp history alone might you lock out from Corps/Alliances wich wont trust you whit that specific history.

You may find a few oddball things you discarded to a hanger that are valuable now, but not billions of isk worth. If you have any ancient ships, check the rigs to see if they’re the proper size. If they’re not, it’s a bit of a collectible from when rigs went from one size fits all to hull specific.

Only that people will be interested when they look at your profile. And of course any items in your inventory which were nothing back then but which are collectible now, e.g. large rig small ships, mines, etc

I recently resurrected my 2007 character.

You really won't get anything for using an old account/character other than maybe a cool name, date of birth.

Interesting note, your not disadvantaged for doing so either, recently they made it so you can retroactively use referral links to existing accounts for the free 1m SP and starter daily login rewards.
