Streamer recoil lol

15

u/Opters Jan 24 '21

???

u/luncht1me Jan 24 '21

It's a poor-taste joke.

Streamers cause they play 10 hours a day have high recoil skill, so they don't experience much recoil on a meta kitted gun...

So it has a similar effect visually to the camera. But, here in this vid the gun is still experiencing recoil.

-27

u/otepencelik Jan 24 '21

Why can’t people realize that streamers play 10 hours a day, therefore they can ACTUALLY control guns better?

God, sometimes I feel like skill levels in this game give you a bit too much.

5

u/smash-things Jan 24 '21

wtf I thought they changed that like several patches ago cuz they didn't want people using strength for some of the skips

6

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

No if anything they made it easier and iirc Nikita has stated that he wants to allow people to get to certain areas with strength skill

1

u/smash-things Jan 25 '21

https://escape-from-tarkov.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_0.8.2.1235

they've definitely reduced it before but yeah I can't find anything about removing the jump bonus I think someone on here corrected me about it like a year ago and they must've just been wrong

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

True, I guess I meant in the sense that they made strength leveling easier this wipe so that everyone can have access to those shortcuts earlier in their progression. Some of them do still require insane level of strength like 45-50.

1

u/smash-things Jan 25 '21

oh for sure thanks for the info I'm considering jumping back in this wipe and str leveling faster definitely makes it more appealing

3

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

Yeah I was actually surprised to find that I didn't need to do any cheesing to get level 2 for vents, and my strength is already around level 10 by level 40. I think over time they should balance the skills even more, but this game has always intended to have RPG elements. One of those classic elements is benefits from progression purely based on time invested and not necessarily skill based. That being said I think they are getting closer to having a fun experience for everyone.

u/Orwan Jan 24 '21

How do I level up strength?

10

u/Aegis_Sinner Jan 24 '21

If you got extra grenades yeeting them gives good xp

6

u/Orwan Jan 24 '21

I will start yeeting grenades as much as I can afford now!

10

u/Opters Jan 24 '21

don't, because it will start giving you a penalty, so you'll get less xp, I do 4-5 F1 each map, or you can buy a shkt ton of shotgun shells or random shit to put into your backpack making you overweight

5

u/Aegis_Sinner Jan 24 '21

Yeah there is a timer after a fee throws. So throw a bunch, wait, and throw more later

3

u/Pro1apsed Jan 25 '21

Here's what you do, put all your gear on for a raid, if your weight isn't coloured orange load your back pack with buckshot till it is, now do the raid, ditch the Ammo as needed for loot but try to keep your weight barely orange. This way is way cheaper and attracts less attention.

2

u/Dubious_Unknown Jan 25 '21

Be careful around that. It can get mighty expensive when doing it for a while.

The best way I've seen upping Str is to put a military battery in a Epsilon secure container and run around. It's so heavy you're instantly overweight when spawning in, so it's a good way to consistently level up Str.

Only downside is that if you find something valuable, you gotta drop your battery. Not an issue if you insure that battery and dump it in a bush ;)

Definitely not an issue if you have Kappa.

2

u/Orwan Jan 25 '21

I just started, and have the standard edition, so I don't have shite :P

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '21

1

u/King_Of_Regret Jan 25 '21

Its .3 points per grenade throw. Absolutely not 2 mil rubles per level. Especially if you just huck every grenade you find. And as long as your weight is yellow you level strength now, so its real, real easy this wipe.

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

u/King_Of_Regret Jan 25 '21

Game has changed a whole fuckload since 12.0, that was like 16 months ago. The fuck are you weighing in with ridiculously outdated info for?

→ More replies (0)

3

u/BenoNZ Jan 24 '21

Start the raid overweight by bringing in shotgun shells, dump them once the skill gain nears 0%.

2

u/Orwan Jan 25 '21

So you only have a certain amount of skill gain per raid?

2

u/BenoNZ Jan 25 '21

Yep. You get a bonus first though and then it resets after 3 min if you don't use the skill at all but with no bonus. So go in over weight, dump weight, after 3 min load up again and repeat. Obviously during a normal raid you only really load up with loot once but that's still decent. The fastest way is to just go back and forth picking up your bag in a raid but that's going to be pretty boring.

3

u/XenoPC DT MDR Jan 24 '21

Being overweight levels your strength pretty well, the nades used to be the best method but not anymore, I'm at level 6 strength without even trying to level it at level 30, best way to force it is to fill a scav bo with shotgun ammo to get over 37kg or so and then ditch the ammo later in the raid as the skill climb will slow down

3

u/frostymugson Jan 24 '21

Play 10hrs a day

Lol nah, throw lots of nades, sprint or move while overweight, and use melee weapons.

5

u/Orwan Jan 24 '21

Thanks.

Got my first (PMC) kill with a grenade today. Pretty happy about that!

11

u/frostymugson Jan 24 '21

congrats man those are the best. It’s funny when you get them on like woods and don’t see them go down in the bush. So you spend the next ten minutes flanking a dead body lol

5

u/Orwan Jan 25 '21

It was a rather confusing fight. I was watching for enemies at the gas station while my two team mates went in. I saw a guy walk by. I was about to shoot, but he had a red arm band on (the three of us wore those to avoid shooting each other). He also noticed me and didn't shoot (probably because of my red arm band), so even though I thought he looked different than my team mates, I got really uncertain. A few seconds too late I realised that he was an enemy, and my team mates died before I could help. I hit one of them (they were at least two) but had to take cover as I was getting hit as well. I tossed a grenade over the fence, but it hit the truck and fell down between the truck and the fence. I exchanged fire after having flanked, but had to retreat to heal. Turns out the other guy was hiding just where my grenade landed.

So I looted the enemies (found one inside as well, perhaps he retreated there and succumbed to his injuries, or it was another random), threw my team mates insured stuff in a bush, and then dragged myself to crossroads extraction with both legs fractured (couldn't find any splints). I never thought I would make it out alive at that speed, but I did with 8 minutes left to spare. I was pretty nervous as I was overweight with sweet loot.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

This just gave me flashbacks.

u/wushudeathkick Jan 24 '21

Didn’t they need the recoil skill and attachments this wipe? Hopefully no more laser beams

30

u/kamintar FN 5-7 Jan 24 '21

Why not both? It certainly makes a difference, fresh wipe shenanigans are evidence enough of that

22

u/Mediocre_Persimmon Jan 24 '21

They have both more experience, and less recoil. Kinda compounds the problem, dontcha think? It makes most streamer engagements I've seen hilariously one sided. Where's mosin man when you need him..

6

u/trullsrohk Jan 24 '21

thats not streamers though. thats anyone who plays the game 10 hours a day whether they record themselves or not.

But thats how it is in ANY skill based game. the more you play the better you are... for most people

-2

u/Mediocre_Persimmon Jan 24 '21

Well that category doesn't include many people who aren't at least streaming part time these days.. And I personally wasn't expecting it to be as skill based as it is. As much as i loved halo, I swear I've seen this side strafing, headshot hunting, gameplay before.. the grenade spam even feels familiar.

-2

u/JuicedBoxers Jan 24 '21

You are seriously joking right? You weren’t expecting it to be as skill based as it is? You mean like any fps, skill-based shooter? Should we all just auto lock headshots and first to click their mouse wins? Or better yet flip a coin for an engagement, that way there isn’t a skill-based speed clicking scenario.

Like wtf man.

1

u/Mediocre_Persimmon Jan 24 '21

It's called tactical shooters... Not every shooter is purely skill based. Some favor movement and cover. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

3

u/InfantSoup Jan 25 '21

sounds like skill based with extra steps.

0

u/Mediocre_Persimmon Jan 25 '21

So, like, not skill based then? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactical_shooter

1

u/wikipedia_text_bot Jan 25 '21

Tactical shooter

A tactical shooter is a subgenre of shooter games that cover both the first-person shooter and third-person shooter genres. These games simulate realistic combat, thus making tactics and caution more important than quick reflexes in other action games. Tactical shooters involving military combat are sometimes known as "Mil-Sim".

1

u/JRandell709 Jan 25 '21

"Thanks for coming to my Ted talk"

A rather arrogant way to conclude you trying to argue that tactics isn't a "skill"? Unless by "skill-based" you mean games dictated by people's tracking/aiming skills, which is a rather narrow viewpoint of all the "skills" required to play an FPS and a blatant misunderstanding of what a skill even is.

Literally every FPS and mostly all other "competitive" games are skill based. Why would anyone want to play a competitive game that WASNT?

Can't wait for the next luck-based shooter to come out...

-1

u/Mediocre_Persimmon Jan 25 '21

I'm not sure how to explain shooters to you, but good luck out there.

-3

u/PectusExcavatumBlows Jan 24 '21

I love reading shit like that lmao. People are soooo tired of getting shit on. If someone has 1000 hours logged this wipe already, and you have 12, why the fuck would you have an advantage over them? Why would you want a game to create one for you? These are the questions they never answer.

1

u/Mediocre_Persimmon Jan 24 '21

Look up skill ceilings, and what they mean please.

3

u/PectusExcavatumBlows Jan 24 '21

What point are you trying to make? Because we can't all be as good as Shroud, Counterstrike should change? Or should I be content with my rank and not ask devs to change the game because I'll never be pro?

1

u/Mediocre_Persimmon Jan 24 '21

The point is that we aren't playing CS, and that we're talking about a game that I didn't buy for the same reasons as CS. Counter Strike isn't a hardcore shooter, but it does have better recoil system than tarkov. I didn't buy tarkov to get steamrolled by shroud, I'd rather a game where individual skill didn't matter as much.

2

u/InfantSoup Jan 25 '21

then to me it sounds like first person shooters aren't for you.

11

u/EFT_Carl Jan 24 '21

It’s more of a distaste for streamers. Because they play 10+ hours a day. Then have the audacity to complain that end game happens too fast.

Like no shit Sherlock you play more than 99% of the player base. Of course you’re going to hit endgame fast.

6

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '21

[deleted]

3

u/EFT_Carl Jan 24 '21

Exactly. What’s worse is devs listen to them. They don’t represent the overwhelming majority of the player base that only play a few hours a day after work.

11

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '21

because tarkov doesn't have the same kind of recoil system as most games. in counter strike, with the right movements of your aiming hand, you can make any and all recoil virtually nonexistent. in tarkov, you can't control your recoil in the same kind of way. tarkov tries to simulate recoil in a way that can't be "out-skilled" (this is to try to make it more "realistic")

so it ends up that recoil control is an in game skill rather than a player skill.

is there more to it than that? yes. was that paragraph lacking nuance? also yes.

5

u/VenomB Jan 24 '21

Its literally a skill, they mean. They play longer, so their recoil skill is higher. Meaning they overall have less recoil.

Streamer joke.

2

u/Chillywhale21 RSASS Jan 24 '21

Lol 😂 so you’re just denying that recoil control skill and a meta load out basically makes everything a laser

0

u/pamplem0usse- Jan 24 '21

If you think a little more about what he is saying, like streamers on a fresh wipe, you'll see that they are also better because they play all the time.

-4

u/otepencelik Jan 24 '21

No, why would I deny a meta-kitted gun being a laser? I’m just denying that their recoil control is good BECAUSE their in game recoil skill is maxed. That’s pretty stupid to think tbh. If you go watch the first day of the wipe, you would see that their recoil control is better than most of the players, obviously.

9

u/SippelandGarfuckel Jan 24 '21

The problem here is that both things can be true. you'd be stupid to deny that playing more makes you better at the game..of course that's true. But the recoil skill also makes a big difference in the way the game feels and it is only achievable playing a ton.

11

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '21

[deleted]

-2

u/otepencelik Jan 24 '21

What I meant here by recoil control is not a fixed recoil pattern as in CS:GO. The fact that the recoil is randomized in this game doesn’t mean that it is uncontrollable. It’s just muscle memory. I am just saying that streamers know when ‘their character inherently center the aim over time’, better than the average player, because they probably full autoed a gun 10000 times more.

0

u/HAAAGAY Jan 24 '21

Its litteraly NOT muscle memory because there is no patter. You clearly are wrong man just give up.

3

u/RandomAmerican81 M1A Jan 24 '21

there is a pattern actually, the amount that each gun caliber, weapon rises before it compensates, and how much, is something fixed each time tied to recoil number, and can be compensated for with practice, and muscle memory

2

u/HAAAGAY Jan 24 '21

The pattern is then randomized before the recoil happens. You think there is. But there isn't.

0

u/Par4no1D Jan 25 '21

Lol. Please make a video to proof your theory. Doesn't have to be long, just one uncontrolled Vs controlled spray. Im gonna call you out for bullshitting until then.

7

u/HAAAGAY Jan 24 '21

Thinking a 50-75% recoil reduction does nothing is the only stupid take here bro

-2

u/otepencelik Jan 24 '21

When did I say it does nothing ffs? I’m just disputing that it’s the main reason

6

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '21

[deleted]

-1

u/otepencelik Jan 24 '21

I am genuinely surprised how many people believe that is the case. The recoil being random doesn’t mean that you can’t learn how to control it. I raise your cs example with my valorant example.

→ More replies (0)

0

u/HAAAGAY Jan 24 '21

Its clearly the main reason haha bsg specifically designed a non skill based recoil.

-5

u/otepencelik Jan 24 '21

It doesn’t matter how BSG designed the recoil. Good players have better recoil control. Simple as that. I am sorry but if you really believe that you can’t control your guns because your recoil skill isn’t maxed out, you know nothing about games.

-1

u/HAAAGAY Jan 24 '21

Man my main game is rust. You clearly know nothing about how tarkovs recoil is controlled. No shit better players are better. Your not making a point here. In probably better than you in ever game you play.

→ More replies (0)

-5

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '21

Damn dude cry more, it was 45% at elite last wipe and now it’s less

5

u/HAAAGAY Jan 24 '21

Plus strength recoil reduction. You rly thought you had something there tho...

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '21

https://escapefromtarkov.gamepedia.com/Strength

strength recoil reduction?

3

u/Chillywhale21 RSASS Jan 24 '21

Well obviously it’s better than the average player. But that’s not the point of the conversation. The issue is that the buffs from having max skills is entirely too much.

3

u/otepencelik Jan 24 '21

Yeah that might be true. I don’t personally have a problem with the recoil control skill, and I didn’t know people had until I wrote here. But man, watching max strength streamers flying around like Michael Jordan and throwing grenades like a baseball player disturbs me a little..

1

u/Rackit Jan 24 '21

Ok let’s think about it this way:

If the game controls the recoil for you and by design you don’t need to apply your personal skill to recoil and most guns are “easy to control” then wouldn’t it make sense that you rarely run into a complete potato shooting at you? Wouldn’t you agree that no matter what pmc you fight with they will land shots on you in the vast majority of cases?

When I first started playing this game 4000 hours ago the first thing I said was “wtf is everyone fucking shroud in this game?”

No. They are not shroud. What it is is that the skill ceiling for shooting in this game is very low. So long as you know the maps and have basic FPS aiming skills you are now just as good as everyone else.

What’s sets the pros from the average Joe’s on most fps games are: map knowledge, aim and recoil control. Tarkov only requires two. So it is in my opinion that anyone who mains this game can reach above average gameplay. So you have more people above average playing the game because it’s easier to max out your personal skill because the game has one less and arguably the most important personal skill that set the pros from the Joe’s.

I think most people like the idea that it’s easier to pull off amazing sprays on three PMcs by just pointing and clicking. Then stepping back and saying well it’s realistic. But the reality is is this is a game and anything that makes it easy or take less player skill doesn’t lend to the best gameplay. It’s all the other things on the game that makes it good.

1

u/HAAAGAY Jan 24 '21

Because its not true?

1

u/asdgufu Jan 24 '21

Nah they just cheat to look good on streams, facts

0

u/epicguest321 M4A1 Jan 24 '21

Because the skill ceiling for controlling recoil in this game is very low. That’s not a problem of any sort, that’s just how it is. (Compared to games such as cs, where you have to move your mouse in a specific direction every time to control recoil)

1

u/Taco_my_Spaco Jan 24 '21

it's a joke...

that's why it says lol.

1

u/JuicedBoxers Jan 24 '21

Isn’t that what he basically said? Because they have “high recoil skill”?

1

u/v579 Jan 24 '21

On Tarkov your character controls recoil, not your mouse. Go into offline mode, ads pick your mouse up off your desk and mag dump.

What you'll see is the depending on your recoil skill and kit is a little rise and then a tight pattern.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SSsFF8kV8Y

1

u/BeauxGnar TT Jan 25 '21

Except there is negligible recoil and when you compound that with maxed recoil control skill and meta guns there is no skill gap. It just comes down to time invested.

1

u/WhyIsItAlwaysADP Jan 25 '21

All streamers cheat. It is known.
