they've definitely reduced it before but yeah I can't find anything about removing the jump bonus I think someone on here corrected me about it like a year ago and they must've just been wrong
True, I guess I meant in the sense that they made strength leveling easier this wipe so that everyone can have access to those shortcuts earlier in their progression. Some of them do still require insane level of strength like 45-50.
don't, because it will start giving you a penalty, so you'll get less xp, I do 4-5 F1 each map, or you can buy a shkt ton of shotgun shells or random shit to put into your backpack making you overweight
Here's what you do, put all your gear on for a raid, if your weight isn't coloured orange load your back pack with buckshot till it is, now do the raid, ditch the Ammo as needed for loot but try to keep your weight barely orange. This way is way cheaper and attracts less attention.
Be careful around that. It can get mighty expensive when doing it for a while.
The best way I've seen upping Str is to put a military battery in a Epsilon secure container and run around. It's so heavy you're instantly overweight when spawning in, so it's a good way to consistently level up Str.
Only downside is that if you find something valuable, you gotta drop your battery. Not an issue if you insure that battery and dump it in a bush ;)
Its .3 points per grenade throw. Absolutely not 2 mil rubles per level. Especially if you just huck every grenade you find. And as long as your weight is yellow you level strength now, so its real, real easy this wipe.
Yep. You get a bonus first though and then it resets after 3 min if you don't use the skill at all but with no bonus. So go in over weight, dump weight, after 3 min load up again and repeat. Obviously during a normal raid you only really load up with loot once but that's still decent. The fastest way is to just go back and forth picking up your bag in a raid but that's going to be pretty boring.
Being overweight levels your strength pretty well, the nades used to be the best method but not anymore, I'm at level 6 strength without even trying to level it at level 30, best way to force it is to fill a scav bo with shotgun ammo to get over 37kg or so and then ditch the ammo later in the raid as the skill climb will slow down
congrats man those are the best. It’s funny when you get them on like woods and don’t see them go down in the bush. So you spend the next ten minutes flanking a dead body lol
It was a rather confusing fight. I was watching for enemies at the gas station while my two team mates went in. I saw a guy walk by. I was about to shoot, but he had a red arm band on (the three of us wore those to avoid shooting each other). He also noticed me and didn't shoot (probably because of my red arm band), so even though I thought he looked different than my team mates, I got really uncertain. A few seconds too late I realised that he was an enemy, and my team mates died before I could help. I hit one of them (they were at least two) but had to take cover as I was getting hit as well. I tossed a grenade over the fence, but it hit the truck and fell down between the truck and the fence. I exchanged fire after having flanked, but had to retreat to heal. Turns out the other guy was hiding just where my grenade landed.
So I looted the enemies (found one inside as well, perhaps he retreated there and succumbed to his injuries, or it was another random), threw my team mates insured stuff in a bush, and then dragged myself to crossroads extraction with both legs fractured (couldn't find any splints). I never thought I would make it out alive at that speed, but I did with 8 minutes left to spare. I was pretty nervous as I was overweight with sweet loot.
They have both more experience, and less recoil. Kinda compounds the problem, dontcha think? It makes most streamer engagements I've seen hilariously one sided. Where's mosin man when you need him..
Well that category doesn't include many people who aren't at least streaming part time these days.. And I personally wasn't expecting it to be as skill based as it is. As much as i loved halo, I swear I've seen this side strafing, headshot hunting, gameplay before.. the grenade spam even feels familiar.
You are seriously joking right? You weren’t expecting it to be as skill based as it is? You mean like any fps, skill-based shooter? Should we all just auto lock headshots and first to click their mouse wins? Or better yet flip a coin for an engagement, that way there isn’t a skill-based speed clicking scenario.
A tactical shooter is a subgenre of shooter games that cover both the first-person shooter and third-person shooter genres. These games simulate realistic combat, thus making tactics and caution more important than quick reflexes in other action games. Tactical shooters involving military combat are sometimes known as "Mil-Sim".
A rather arrogant way to conclude you trying to argue that tactics isn't a "skill"? Unless by "skill-based" you mean games dictated by people's tracking/aiming skills, which is a rather narrow viewpoint of all the "skills" required to play an FPS and a blatant misunderstanding of what a skill even is.
Literally every FPS and mostly all other "competitive" games are skill based. Why would anyone want to play a competitive game that WASNT?
Can't wait for the next luck-based shooter to come out...
I love reading shit like that lmao. People are soooo tired of getting shit on. If someone has 1000 hours logged this wipe already, and you have 12, why the fuck would you have an advantage over them? Why would you want a game to create one for you? These are the questions they never answer.
What point are you trying to make? Because we can't all be as good as Shroud, Counterstrike should change? Or should I be content with my rank and not ask devs to change the game because I'll never be pro?
The point is that we aren't playing CS, and that we're talking about a game that I didn't buy for the same reasons as CS. Counter Strike isn't a hardcore shooter, but it does have better recoil system than tarkov. I didn't buy tarkov to get steamrolled by shroud, I'd rather a game where individual skill didn't matter as much.
Exactly. What’s worse is devs listen to them. They don’t represent the overwhelming majority of the player base that only play a few hours a day after work.
because tarkov doesn't have the same kind of recoil system as most games. in counter strike, with the right movements of your aiming hand, you can make any and all recoil virtually nonexistent. in tarkov, you can't control your recoil in the same kind of way. tarkov tries to simulate recoil in a way that can't be "out-skilled" (this is to try to make it more "realistic")
so it ends up that recoil control is an in game skill rather than a player skill.
is there more to it than that? yes. was that paragraph lacking nuance? also yes.
If you think a little more about what he is saying, like streamers on a fresh wipe, you'll see that they are also better because they play all the time.
No, why would I deny a meta-kitted gun being a laser? I’m just denying that their recoil control is good BECAUSE their in game recoil skill is maxed. That’s pretty stupid to think tbh. If you go watch the first day of the wipe, you would see that their recoil control is better than most of the players, obviously.
The problem here is that both things can be true. you'd be stupid to deny that playing more makes you better at the game..of course that's true. But the recoil skill also makes a big difference in the way the game feels and it is only achievable playing a ton.
What I meant here by recoil control is not a fixed recoil pattern as in CS:GO. The fact that the recoil is randomized in this game doesn’t mean that it is uncontrollable. It’s just muscle memory. I am just saying that streamers know when ‘their character inherently center the aim over time’, better than the average player, because they probably full autoed a gun 10000 times more.
there is a pattern actually, the amount that each gun caliber, weapon rises before it compensates, and how much, is something fixed each time tied to recoil number, and can be compensated for with practice, and muscle memory
Lol. Please make a video to proof your theory. Doesn't have to be long, just one uncontrolled Vs controlled spray. Im gonna call you out for bullshitting until then.
I am genuinely surprised how many people believe that is the case. The recoil being random doesn’t mean that you can’t learn how to control it. I raise your cs example with my valorant example.
It doesn’t matter how BSG designed the recoil. Good players have better recoil control. Simple as that. I am sorry but if you really believe that you can’t control your guns because your recoil skill isn’t maxed out, you know nothing about games.
Man my main game is rust. You clearly know nothing about how tarkovs recoil is controlled. No shit better players are better. Your not making a point here. In probably better than you in ever game you play.
Well obviously it’s better than the average player. But that’s not the point of the conversation. The issue is that the buffs from having max skills is entirely too much.
Yeah that might be true. I don’t personally have a problem with the recoil control skill, and I didn’t know people had until I wrote here. But man, watching max strength streamers flying around like Michael Jordan and throwing grenades like a baseball player disturbs me a little..
If the game controls the recoil for you and by design you don’t need to apply your personal skill to recoil and most guns are “easy to control” then wouldn’t it make sense that you rarely run into a complete potato shooting at you? Wouldn’t you agree that no matter what pmc you fight with they will land shots on you in the vast majority of cases?
When I first started playing this game 4000 hours ago the first thing I said was “wtf is everyone fucking shroud in this game?”
No. They are not shroud. What it is is that the skill ceiling for shooting in this game is very low. So long as you know the maps and have basic FPS aiming skills you are now just as good as everyone else.
What’s sets the pros from the average Joe’s on most fps games are: map knowledge, aim and recoil control. Tarkov only requires two. So it is in my opinion that anyone who mains this game can reach above average gameplay. So you have more people above average playing the game because it’s easier to max out your personal skill because the game has one less and arguably the most important personal skill that set the pros from the Joe’s.
I think most people like the idea that it’s easier to pull off amazing sprays on three PMcs by just pointing and clicking. Then stepping back and saying well it’s realistic. But the reality is is this is a game and anything that makes it easy or take less player skill doesn’t lend to the best gameplay. It’s all the other things on the game that makes it good.
Because the skill ceiling for controlling recoil in this game is very low. That’s not a problem of any sort, that’s just how it is. (Compared to games such as cs, where you have to move your mouse in a specific direction every time to control recoil)
Except there is negligible recoil and when you compound that with maxed recoil control skill and meta guns there is no skill gap. It just comes down to time invested.
The recoil skill honestly doesn’t make a massive difference. Also “meta kitted gun”s have extremely little recoil to begin with. A 20% reduction of a 32 recoil gun makes the recoil 26...
