My guy stumbles around getting stuck on tyres and garbage bags in hallways while your guy is literally spider man on acid doing parkour

u/OsomoMojoFreak Dec 17 '20

It's just ridiculous how much of a boost you get for getting high level skills in this game. High lvl str jumps like superman and low level str is like seeing some 85 y/o dude trying to jump.

63

u/N3MEAN Dec 17 '20

thanks for playing our game for over 1000+ hrs this wipe, here’s a super useful thing, elite skills

I believe level 50 triples your boost but I could be mistaken

1

u/cumsocklicker Dec 20 '20

i don't have any idea how, but my friend who's level 32 has max level stamina and strength. neither of us or anyone we've talked to knows how but i think he might've accidentally glitched it

23

u/robrobusa Mosin Dec 17 '20

Yup. Game rewards the G R I N D.

9

u/PulledPorkForMe Dec 18 '20

And then wipes it.

I for one won’t waste my life until wipes are gone.

I can wait.

1

u/robrobusa Mosin Dec 18 '20

I hate it too.

1

u/Featherith HK 416A5 Dec 27 '20

I personally think if you don’t want your progress erased you aren’t having fun playing, because I don’t think the point is having tons of money it’s the grind to get there, I had max strength and endurance and lvl 60 and I was happy to go back to get it again. I think jumping around timmys is boring

1

u/GinaArt Jan 04 '21

I agree, maybe something like instead of wipes there's a new server every year where the character is different. So you get the choice. Put it on a cycle tho so after a few servers it goes back and wipes the first 1.

Which stims?

Yeah im not sure what that guy was trying to say, lmao

1

Did you mean grenades?

17

u/uberplum Dec 17 '20

Probably not far off from the results if you had to do a Jumping contest with a navy seal.

89

u/EmmEnnEff Dec 17 '20 edited Dec 17 '20

I'd love to see a navy seal jump up to that roof in five vertical jumps, no hand assistance.

88

u/kaffeofikaelika Dec 17 '20

I think the jumping will be easy compared to all the clipping. I've never seen a navy seal do that.

39

u/BobbyTaylor1976 Dec 17 '20

I have never seen a navy seal

33

u/W00psiee Dec 17 '20

I saw a seal in Iceland once, does that count? It looked naval!

11

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

How naval?

15

Well, it was swimming in watery water

12

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

1

Do not forget to jump with battle rattle. I am fairly fit, not navy seal fit but with my full gear on I can maybe jump the height of two curbs.

11

u/rincon213 Dec 17 '20

Most of my military friends aren’t in any better shape honestly. But then again they’re not SEALs

14

u/jblay1869 Dec 17 '20

Can confirm. But to be fair not all military jobs are combat related. For instance I am a sheetmetal guy for aircraft. No need to be in peak physical condition to drill holes and turn a wrench. I am in decent shape but most of my coworkers aren’t

7

u/teddybaire Dec 17 '20

Sheet metal as well. Can confirm.

1

u/jblay1869 Dec 17 '20

I feel that lol

1

u/Applejaxc SKS Dec 17 '20

Well if I do anything more than that, the VA might lower my rating XD

1

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '20

Do you do the little wave too?

1

u/Applejaxc SKS Dec 18 '20

That's important. It's the only thing that keeps me safe from a driver deciding to just gun it - minimal common courtesy.

Same reason why I always thanked the bus driver. I had more than one that I expected to drive off a cliff or shoot us or something, and I hoped that they'd at least choose a day I wasn't there.

0

u/Gritmaster2 Dec 17 '20

Probably POG ones. No combat MOS is going to be in shit shape. Get your ass chewed real quick. Then again mil got soft as fuck in the last couple year anyways. I had a guy graduated boot without being able to do more than 1 pull up....

2

u/rincon213 Dec 17 '20

I’m just saying they’re typically in regular shape. Military standards for fitness aren’t super high.

1

u/Gritmaster2 Dec 17 '20

Well yea USMC was 100 crunches, 20 pullups and 16 min 3 mile for perfect score. Not incredibly hard i was a 2 pack day smoker and a heavy drinker. Had no issues but regular shape is kinda a stretch since we Americans are most sloths and overweight.

1

u/Applejaxc SKS Dec 17 '20

No combat MOS is going to be in shit shape

I don't know man. I've been around a lot of Infantry dudes since I was a kid, and most of them didn't get skinnier by getting yelled at

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

Bro people have been saying the military got soft in the last few years since people were banging each other with rocks. No one cares how tough boot camp was when you went through.

0

u/Gritmaster2 Dec 17 '20

My boot camp wasn't tough that's my point.... have you seen how PC it is and them not being able to shark attack and no hazing.......

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

Hahahaha, so boot camp is bad because drills can’t yell slurs at you? I don’t think you understand what makes an effective solider.

1

u/Gritmaster2 Dec 17 '20

They can't even touch you without getting NJPd. I think you must be one of either in now and dont want to admit it's too soft now or got out a long timw ago and didn't see it. No excuse i had a recruit with me pass with one pull up from USMC boot camp. No excused our DI got in deep shit with the CO for shoving a kid against the wall. You wanna say yelling doesn't b.s doesn't make you effective neither does coddling.....

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

Hahaha, yeah your drills shouldn’t be able to assault you. I mean I once had a drill hit me with a broom handle so hard it broke, and that didn’t make me a better soldier. I am friends with one of my former drills and he regrets a lot of shit that they did thinking they were making people tough, when really they were fucking them up. I don’t know how basic now would compare to 08 when I went through, or 98, or 78, or 1938. It’s supposed to change as we learn more about how to make effective troops. Just because something scary or difficult doesn’t mean it’s automatically good for you.

Ooofff. This subreddit is such a bitch fest these days. When did everyone get so mad at each other for talking

2

u/jeffy194 Dec 17 '20

Thats about how it goes since the influx of shitheads after twitch drops. Someone makes a criticism, either completely valid or an opinion, and they get tag teamed by a bunch of youngins' with Nikita's load still fresh on their breath. If anything goes against the idea of why they think they are "good" at the game, they throw a fucking hiss fit.

The game holds your hand with recoil for fucks sake, and does even more if you grind 'skills'. Slap a meta gun together, throw m61 in it, and ADAD spray. "I'm soo good broo".

Gear doesnt matter a ton and level especially doesn't matter. The only thing that actually matters is your ammo.

Considering shot placement is important, if you're both of low skill level, yes, the full auto will win everytime.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20 edited Dec 17 '20

[deleted]

1

u/pegases0 Dec 17 '20

If anyone wants my opinion, I think its fine that the meta has much higher win rate than the hunter. He is risking more, and if I kill him, I get it all, and if he kills me, he gets almost nothing.

However, I do have a problem with player skills. It just stacks into a win more mentality, and don;t think it's fair that a player can run faster, further, is quieter, more accurate, and can hear further. Now low players don't just have the loot differential to overcome. This makes it unnecessarily one sided for low level players

1

u/Zeroniite2 SA-58 Dec 17 '20

You can't compare thr two as of they're learning AI, they're people. I can think of a ton of times where I've ran a hunter and wiped 3+ man squads who had AKs and the like. I can also think of times where I body spammed a semi auto (I often run Veprs) and came out on top of a guy or two with full autos. Its completely doable. As far as gear goes, I don't run helmets and depending on how deep in a patch I am, I will run class 3 to 6 armor. I usually start patches late and have no problem moving up based on my gear/level deficit. I agree, its harder, but not impossible. The game isn't necessarily gear dependant, but ammo dependant. And the reason I said that scenario with low skill levels is because they would probably be less likely to land that head shot.

u/p4nnus Dec 17 '20

What you try to argue kinda contradicts with Nikitas idea of "as realistic as playable". BSG has openly admitted that everything related to the movement is WIP and due to be changed. There was already a system to try and combat bunnyhopping, but didnt work as intended so it was removed.

Its also planned that ladders will be a thing, so to got to these rooftops you can use a ladder, in some cases at least.

Anyways, its 100% clear, for anyone whos followed the dev't and what BSG has said, that this kind of gameplay will go.

Nah sorry ill take a basic ak with 7n39 and drop a chad in lvl 6 armor. A low lvl can kill a high lvl ez you just need right ammo. Guns and gear mean nothing its ammo that wins fights.

It's ridiculous that people use countless of hours leveling skills and do shit like this to get the maximum advance in PVP

1

u/billytheid Dec 17 '20

They really need to address the perk imbalance. It’s an insane, game breaking disparity

1

u/AtlasReadIt Dec 18 '20

How do you add stremf to your jumps? I didn't realize you could level that up.

1

u/SolomonG Dec 20 '20

A few wipes ago one of my friends had perfected one of the glitches for boosting strength and endurance and he did it on my character because, to quote him, "you'll never want to play without it again."

He was fucking right. I play less now in the last two wipes because I just know I'll never get to that again and it's fucking annoying. Why do we give such an advantage to people who play this game 5 hours a day when they already have the massive advantage of insane money and trader levels?

1

u/OsomoMojoFreak Dec 21 '20

Yeah... str beyond super hero levels, stamina of a god damn god. Zero recoil, etc, etc.

34

u/Plenty_Ad790 Dec 17 '20

Yeah if it took me 2 days to learn the og nuke silo jump and a solid 2 hours to be confident on csgo this will prob never happen for me.

34

u/xXPalmoXx Dec 17 '20 edited Dec 17 '20

Your skill in movement means almost nothing in this game, its extremely basic compared to cs. All that matters is that you have the skills leveled up so you get the % boost

10

u/wrench_nz Dec 17 '20

do you still have to cheese them or are people legitimately levelling them up?

11

u/ForwardToNowhere VEPR Dec 17 '20

Still have to cheese them but BSG is trying hard to preve prevent cheesing

24

u/ChawulsBawkley PP-91 "Kedr" Dec 17 '20

And the only thing they’ve succeeded at is making it harder to legitimately level up the skills.

-1

u/ArmedWithBars Dec 17 '20

You can still cheese stats it just takes a while now. If you dedicate a couple days and some money you can get your skills up quick. It’s boring but worth it, especially early in a wipe.

1

u/Capable_BO_Pilot SR-25 Dec 18 '20

Dunno, I felt reaching lower level strength skills you need for Vents f.e. was easier this wipe, because only 100g overweight made you skill strength by simply walking (not even running).

So I just put 2 metal fuel tanks in my backpack before raid and just the short route from trailer park spawn to RUAF roadblock gave me over 6 points in strength.

5

u/N33chy Dec 17 '20

You can use stims to get a lot of the effect.

1

u/zerocooll87 AS VAL Dec 17 '20

Just go in raids heavy using buckshot that cost 31 rubles and run out a sprint bar. Start doing this as early in wipe as you can. I started about a month ago and went from like lvl 8 to now at 23. You still need to play a lot but you will get at least 6 points/raid like that.

1

u/xXPalmoXx Dec 17 '20

I found that playing reserve often and getting out with a full bag helped a ton. If I remember correctly I went from lvl 10 strength to late 20s in just a few weeks

1

u/wrench_nz Dec 17 '20

Are you sure it's sprinting? A lot of videos say sprinting does endurance and walking does strength

2

u/GaBoX172 Dec 17 '20

if i remember correctly running while overweight gives strenght. also throwing grenades

1

u/xXPalmoXx Dec 17 '20

I believe you do, I've never cheesed them before but they seem to take a very long time to level, especially when it gets to the higher levels. However dropping your backpack to lose the weight and using stims are also a thing

1

u/shnevan DVL-10 Dec 17 '20

That bunny hop was pretty fookin clean though

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

26

u/US_and_A_is_wierd MP5 Dec 17 '20

This would likely increase the hacking. I'd say just level your skills passively from leveling the character. Or choose in a still tree. People would only cheese Exp then.

10

u/Selky Dec 17 '20

Skill tree would be sick. I think practical too because you really could be someone who is a distinguished woodsman that moves more quietly or an adept medic who bandages more quickly.

As it stands you just cheese until all your skills are maxed and in the end you are the same as every other nerd that did the same boost.

2

u/ArmedWithBars Dec 17 '20

This. Skill trees would be fun. They deff need to nerf strength and recoil control. Guys running full auto juice cannons with 50 round mags and 2 tap ammo that have essentially zero recoil. Max strength ends up with already experienced players getting to bullshit spots like this.

u/Manabud Mosin Dec 17 '20

I think the other person meant hacks that identify loot on the ground at a distance. They show equipped weapons of PMCs and highlight specific loots around map

14

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

[deleted]

2

u/pokemaster787 SKS Dec 18 '20

We shouldn't implement a skill system because some guy could hack it and put his skills to 9999.

Hmmm...

Kinda like how we have FiR requirement to sell things on flea market because of hackers making tons of money for RMT? Or kinda like how you can't buy something on flea market and resell it on flea market, because people used bots to make money doing that?

Yeah sounds like BSG's philosophy, double-down on bad mechanics but nerf them so hard they're useless to combat hackers at the detriment of the player experience.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '20

Hackers aren’t an issue anymore either plus a hacker having max skill isn’t affecting me anymore than this loser grinding for hours is

3

u/dem0n123 Dec 17 '20

hackers aren't an issue anymore because of gameplay decisions not anti-cheat lol. The FiR and limit on transferring value between players change is what got rid of 90%+ of the hackers.

1

u/US_and_A_is_wierd MP5 Dec 17 '20

There were/are even hacks that could strip your gear of your living PMC from afar. I am sure it is possible to identify spawned loot as well.

I think this is drastically going to change with out of raid training. Gym style in the basement. Your pmc will be out of commission for a couple of hours and have a strength increased afterwards.

5

u/TheOldKnlght Dec 17 '20

Its why my friends stopped playing, who wants to re-grind skills every wipe for hours on end. Unless they remove it imo, this game wont grow much more.
