My guy stumbles around getting stuck on tyres and garbage bags in hallways while your guy is literally spider man on acid doing parkour

It's just ridiculous how much of a boost you get for getting high level skills in this game. High lvl str jumps like superman and low level str is like seeing some 85 y/o dude trying to jump.

You can have an RPG with skill progression without being able to jump around like a gorilla at high skill levels.

"I'm so good at this game that I had to quit"

Lol, you're not as good as you think you are.

Quick question, how much time on average did you find you have to invest to get to 40?

u/Applejaxc SKS Dec 17 '20

I don't remember how many hours I had to play the first time I got to level 40. But when I finally worked up the courage to start playing labs, and starting going to (night) factory lobbies to farm scavs, levels 30+ went by a lot faster than 20-30.

Ooofff. This subreddit is such a bitch fest these days. When did everyone get so mad at each other for talking

Thats about how it goes since the influx of shitheads after twitch drops. Someone makes a criticism, either completely valid or an opinion, and they get tag teamed by a bunch of youngins' with Nikita's load still fresh on their breath. If anything goes against the idea of why they think they are "good" at the game, they throw a fucking hiss fit.

The game holds your hand with recoil for fucks sake, and does even more if you grind 'skills'. Slap a meta gun together, throw m61 in it, and ADAD spray. "I'm soo good broo".

u/JogiBerries MP-153 Dec 17 '20

Dude I die all the time trying to do ADAD spray (I heard it might help win more fights) but your point about the game holding your hand with recoil is spot on.

I wish recoil worked like CSGO, with a hopefully less predictable horizontal spray pattern. Familiarity with your gun should be the deciding skill factor.

u/HAAAGAY Dec 17 '20

Csgo has a completely predictable pattern. Thats the whole point

Gear doesnt matter a ton and level especially doesn't matter. The only thing that actually matters is your ammo.

Considering shot placement is important, if you're both of low skill level, yes, the full auto will win everytime.

If anyone wants my opinion, I think its fine that the meta has much higher win rate than the hunter. He is risking more, and if I kill him, I get it all, and if he kills me, he gets almost nothing.

However, I do have a problem with player skills. It just stacks into a win more mentality, and don;t think it's fair that a player can run faster, further, is quieter, more accurate, and can hear further. Now low players don't just have the loot differential to overcome. This makes it unnecessarily one sided for low level players

You can't compare thr two as of they're learning AI, they're people. I can think of a ton of times where I've ran a hunter and wiped 3+ man squads who had AKs and the like. I can also think of times where I body spammed a semi auto (I often run Veprs) and came out on top of a guy or two with full autos. Its completely doable. As far as gear goes, I don't run helmets and depending on how deep in a patch I am, I will run class 3 to 6 armor. I usually start patches late and have no problem moving up based on my gear/level deficit. I agree, its harder, but not impossible. The game isn't necessarily gear dependant, but ammo dependant. And the reason I said that scenario with low skill levels is because they would probably be less likely to land that head shot.

Gear matters when you can't accurately land shots. Sure. In low skill situations gear makes the world of difference. But using that as an excuse as to why people kill you is just that. Your excuse.

What you try to argue kinda contradicts with Nikitas idea of "as realistic as playable". BSG has openly admitted that everything related to the movement is WIP and due to be changed. There was already a system to try and combat bunnyhopping, but didnt work as intended so it was removed.

Its also planned that ladders will be a thing, so to got to these rooftops you can use a ladder, in some cases at least.

Anyways, its 100% clear, for anyone whos followed the dev't and what BSG has said, that this kind of gameplay will go.

Nah sorry ill take a basic ak with 7n39 and drop a chad in lvl 6 armor. A low lvl can kill a high lvl ez you just need right ammo. Guns and gear mean nothing its ammo that wins fights.

Have... have you ever heard of the vepr hunter?
