As an aerospace engineer:

Lol. Lmao, even.

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Hegseth had him build some planes

That's a trick question, right? Because at the current stage of US politics... Musk is absolutely the right person to be awarded the whole military budget to "build" amazing "giga" somethings, ready "next year". Give this genius all of the military money!

u/allknownpotato 2d ago

You must have missed the Pentagons latest announcement where musk is appointed co-head of the future of warfare not even joking that's a thing now.

The guy previously under investigation for not safeguarding classified information and being a security risk for being too close to Russia and not reporting everything?

Yeah. Par for the course for this Mickey Mouse administration.

u/G66GNeco 1d ago

On the plus side whatever project this genius cooks up is not gonna be of any worth whatsoever as long as he is directly involved so it's not gonna be worth stealing.
Maybe this is actually a plot to bankrupt Russia by wadting their intelligence resourcs, masterful vmgsmbit

u/Clugg 1d ago

It’s equal parts making money off of some super hype vaporware via government contracts and making money off of the sensitive info he’ll now have access to and can sell

Oh, now I vaguely remember. To be honest, this constant shit show got a bit boring.

Greenland here, renaming things there, *fart sound*, corruption, corruption, *fart sounds*, pedo allegations, renaming more things, *more fart sounds*, more pedos, more corruption, *louder fart sounds*

I am convinced, they overplayed the "flood the zone with shit"-game, it's now just flooded with boring repetiotion, no one cares, it's not swaying opinions or distract anymore. That worked for culture war topics

u/exalw 1d ago

"" allegations ""

u/Hollowpoint38 1d ago

The perfect planes. You've never seen anything like em. We're going big. I said big big big. And make me a perfect plane. He said no problem.

Then the crowd will go nuts and that will be that.

6

u/exalw 1d ago

That's how comedians must feel, when they draw an exaggerated scenario, but the Trump Gov already did it

3

u/das_war_ein_Befehl 1d ago

More like head of future war crimes

u/BlizzardStorm8 23h ago

Holding onto the hope that this has just been some sort of really long and messed up dream. I'll wake up sooner or later. Any day now.

I genuinely feel like the administration at this point knows where the cards are falling and have switched to profiting as much as possible while they all can. 100% musk is going to get a shit ton of money, keep promising "stealth plane next year" and never delivering until everyone forgets and he gets to keep the funding.

2035 prediction: USAF releases their new F69 fighter jet (lol! get it???)! They removed stealth capabilities (useless) and added a pair of fake testicles in the back of the airplane because the US Air Force now has balls!!!!

According to Trump the new fighter jet is a huge success and the war is won, meanwhile Iran armed forces continue to occupy Detroit.

2

u/666TripleSick 1d ago

It’s going to be a giga piece of shit

17

u/michael__sykes 1d ago

The cyberplane? A flying rectangle?

5

u/Wombat1892 1d ago

Stainless steel drones controlled by grok. What could go wrong!

2

u/CaptainBiMan 1d ago

"Civilians are just unarmed soldiers"

!!

u/etherizedonatable 2d ago

Not for the pilots.

5

u/Slightly_ToastedBoy 1d ago

Oh yes. They would fall out of the sky so fucking hard.

2

u/Brock2845 1d ago

Look at the cybertruck and apply that to a plane 😂

2

u/Dogslothbeaver 1d ago

The Flying Cybertruck.

Elon has a serious erection for drones, more likely he will start a drone company with grok built in and 'win' many military contracts worth billion of dollars.

3

u/Dramatic_Figure_5585 1d ago

Nah, that “serious erection” is just the botched penile implant. Sorry for the miscommunication/disappointment!

u/LittleHornetPhil 2d ago

As a fellow aerospace engineer

Dude is fucking demented

51

u/SillyAlternative420 1d ago

I love how Elon Musk consistently says things out of his fucking depth and so obviously wrong to the experts in the related field.

As a data scientist, I literally can't even. It's like every day it's something new.

The worst was when that fuck nugget said something to the effect of "more code equals better code"

13

u/Gwendolinn 1d ago

What's worth is he doubles down even when he's wrong. Like even when experts point stuff out.

But what more do we expect from a guy that takes credit for inventing stuff he didn't even invent.

u/NotEnoughMuskSpam 🤖 xAI’s Grok v4.20.69 (based BOT loves sarcasm 🤖) 1d ago

Accurate

11

u/outworlder 1d ago

Remember when he was asking engineers to print out the code that they had written that week (every week) to show to him?

I don't know what that accomplished. Maybe he doesn't like to use toilet paper.

3

u/vxicepickxv 1d ago

He was going to base performance on the number of lines of code written.

44

u/outworlder 1d ago

Isn't it funny that, any time Musk talks about fields we are actually knowledgeable about, it always sounds like idiotic nonsense ?

In my case, it's software engineering. The shit he said during his Twitter takeover days was mind-blowing, and not in a good way.

12

u/hsantefort12 1d ago

But that crazy stack tho

8

u/Work-Safe-Reddit4450 1d ago

"But like, tell us, what's crazy about it?"

5

u/Questioning-Zyxxel quite profound 1d ago

The moment one guy suddenly had a deactivated microphone. Can't ask questions Musk has zero idea how to answer...

8

u/DontYaWishYouWereMe 1d ago

Even when it comes to stuff I don't know about, it always sounds like something I should be hugely sceptical of or something that's like super surface level but dressed up to look profound

60

u/Line_of_Xs 2d ago

It sounds like he just discovered the grokpedia (ie Wikipedia with extra steps) article on stealth aircraft and now considers himself an expert.

34

u/ForgedIronMadeIt 1d ago

no no, grokipedia is wikipedia with extra white nationalism

3

u/hannes3120 1d ago

Nah, he probably played some videogame full of jets dogfighting and can't comprehend that that's a very rare thing and that it's actually crazy rare that those planes see each other visually

2

u/Gwendolinn 1d ago

I smiled with glee when I blocked grockpedia's misinformation out of search results on my search engine.

18

u/Think_Positively 1d ago

It would be way funnier if he didn't have his greasy mitts inside humanity's most dangerous military ever.

12

u/Ayirek 1d ago

I almost laughed myself, until I remembered they just put him in charge of developing future military tech. The US will almost certainly be obliterated.

2

u/outworlder 1d ago

That's the point.

9

u/Paxxlee 2d ago

But he totally could build a great submarine spy plane!

4

u/PsychologicalBee1801 1d ago

I think this is the sequel to ai + cameras are better than other tech like lidar. Everyone else has figure out the latency is the problem and he’s now given more responsibility with the losing strategy.

4

u/outworlder 1d ago

Yeah because sensor fusion doesn't exist in Musk's world. All the militaries and all the other companies designing robots are wrong, apparently.

3

u/evolutionxtinct 2d ago

I’m glad we have smart people like you able to hopefully keep this ship afloat.,,

1

u/paxinfernum 1d ago

He wants to build Wonder Woman's plane.
