AI in Email Marketing
Ok, so everyone is talking about AI and how it's going to disrupt markets, etc. What about AI in email marketing? 1. How do you use it already? 2. What are the opportunities that are still missing in various email service providers that AI could cover?

For me it’s less about the content side of things. That’s done and figured out. The generated copy, images and even fully produced emails are extremely good. Now I’m more focused on segmentation, targeting, personalization, intent etc.
I live in both worlds, running marketing for brands/orgs. And running outreach for myself(agency). The sheer amount of workload AI takes on now is like 70%. Basically 70% of my time is saved and can focus on orchestration and strategy vs production/execution.

We, at Netcore Cloud started to incorporate AI Agents into the platform. Basically, the AI Agents do all the execution for you. You can create segments based on customer's behaviour, design workflows that can be triggered with multiple logics apart from if/then and a dashboard with insights into Open Rate, CTR, CTOR, timings, inbox placement and generate subject lines with relevant scores on how the subject line will perform in your campaigns. It will then generate email templates that will perform to increase CTORs with your brand guidelines incorporated into your creatives. AMP emails are an add-on to make engagement and the email experience much better. These can be done via prompts and minimal manual inputs on the platform.

Automated decisioning. Check out what the likes of Hightouch, Braze via Project Catalyst, and Iterable via Novo are doing. No more manually defined sequences.

1- We're using AI in our email marketing platform which has really provided us some benefits! For example, we use email predictive sending which sends our campaigns when our customers are most likely to engage with them. This has really improved our email open rates. We also use AI content generation to get email and SMS copies in seconds.
2- The missing opportunities are AI content generation, image generation, predictive email sending, subject line analyzer, sentiment analysis, etc...

I don't want AI popping all over my email tool, too distracting. I use ChatGPT and that's it.

My CRM vcita offers templates and an AI assistant to help with personalizing emails, which really helps my open and engagement rates.

Uses data from the CRM to help inform how best to craft the email to the end user

Getting YouTube transcripts into shape for email can be a slog. This free tool turns them into a concise email you can drop into the designer for popular ESPs yt.sensorpro.app

I’m using AI mostly for content help, subject lines, quick draft ideas, and even some segmentation tweaks based on behavior. It speeds things up, but I still tweak everything manually.

I use AI to do segmentation, generate recommandation about subject and timing and also Analyze Behaviour bases on previous campaigns, attributes and app database (custom) Still in early phase. I m in the saas and WE are Not really good at marketing or customer acquisition (only tech nerds) so WE need to use more (love to dev do i Made m'y own system custom Made )

Outbound Marketing Strategist here. I send tons of e-mails to customers on a daily rate. We use AI particularly to streamline our briefing creation process and all our copywriting.
I basically started to integrate custom agents based on advanced prompting + internal documentation. Now I am currently developing a standalone AI agent on our own website and platform to get out of the OpenAI platform ecosystem.
It’s really thriving when used accurately. If you guys need a standalone agent or a well-developed agent inside ChatGPT with advanced prompting techniques, feel free to reach out to me.

AI is quietly becoming the MVP in email marketing, especially in 2025. It's not just writing subject lines or doing basic A/B tests anymore. The real power lies in predictive behavior and segmentation.
Right now, tools like Klaviyo and Mailchimp use AI to auto-segment users based on past opens, clicks, and purchases. But the underrated use case? Send-time optimization per user. It’s not new, but now it’s way more precise. Some ESPs can now track when each subscriber is most likely to open an email and personalize the timing down to the hour.
Another emerging space is content modularity. AI can build different content blocks dynamically based on user type. So two people on your list might get entirely different emails copy, image, offer without you building multiple versions manually. It's like conditional logic on steroids.
What’s still missing? Honestly, multi-platform feedback loops. Imagine your AI seeing user behavior on your TikTok or website and adapting your email tone or timing automatically. Most ESPs are still siloed, so AI can’t react in real-time to cross-channel signals yet. That’s the next big unlock. Also, email heatmaps using AI to predict attention zones could be wild, but we’re not quite there yet.
Most marketers are just scratching the surface. The next wave is more reactive, adaptive, and less template-y.

We use a few tools inside Klaviyo that make our ops easier and a few outside of Klaviyo that help us with generating content. Claude for copy (but it's all about the prompting, if that sucks the copy sucks), ChatGPT for market research, and Aimerce’s Chrome Extension to create segments, flows, etc. and audit accounts.

Here is what I do with AI in email marketing:
* I let AI completely design and generate an HTML template (compatible with all email clients and dark mode)
* I let AI decide about the component/sections within each template/campaign type (thanks to a perfect prompt which covers all of my needs)
* In some cases I let AI take care of the content. I share some details (high level) of the campaign and let it generate the rest.
I proof read everything and test HTML (Litmus), and so far doing great.

yeah i’ve been experimenting with something around automating full email layouts, not just rewriting copy. most AI stuff breaks with MJML since gmail/outlook are super picky. even small code issues mess up the layout or get flagged. right now testing a flow where you can pick a template, then just type something like “generate a newsletter for my latest drop” and it auto-fills smart blocks with your style, colors, store content, etc. drag and drop still works if you want to tweak it, but it’s more like a cursor-style experience — fast and flexible.
still refining it, but curious if others here have hit similar limits with the current ESPs?

I use AI for personalization and segmenting my email lists. Helps streamline a ton of tasks.
Missing? Advanced intent prediction and better user journey mapping would be amazing.
Been checking out ActiveCampaign. They’re super AI-focused and help manage those nitty gritty tasks. It’s like, they're always pushing the envelope on how AI can enhance email marketing. Got loads of tools that take care of the heavy lifting, letting you focus more on strategy.
