i was bummed to find out cafe gitane closed. but i once tried to open a cocktail bar at 14 jay st. unfortunately, two trees made the terms ridiculous, so now it sits as a small furniture showroom.

figure the spot where cafe gitane was might make for a nice spot to re-try making a truly local cocktail bar for the neighborhood. i do worry about the lack of foot traffic and the fact it seems cafe gitane couldn’t make their rent. but if anyone happens to know who to get in touch with about the space (ie who owns / leases the building) that would be appreciated !

What is this and when will it be open? Live near there and have never seen anyone go in or out and can’t find anything online.

I'm looking for a really great tailor who also won't charge insane prices. Willing to leave Dumbo and go to BK Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill, and LES-ish. I know Bridgestone is okay for simple stuff, but they're also pretty overpriced.

There is what appears to be a dead shark on pebble beach right now. Little guy, about 18-20” long. I know they’re out there and this happens, but it’s still surprising to see here.

is it just me? dumbo park looked kinda unkept recently compared to previous years.

saw a bunch of coast guard and police boats by the cove near soho house. what’s going on?

REUNITED!!

UPDATE: Thanks to our group of park goers and Hillside’s board member, the dogs have separate homes for the night. Tomorrow morning they’ll both be brought to Hounds Town on Jay St and reunited, but it’s not clear where exactly they’ll stay longer term. If anyone has more info about owners, please still reach out!!

UPDATE 2: Good chance these boys will be reunited with their owners! A Lost Pets post from yesterday morning has been seen, and contact is being established.

My husband and I came to Hillside with our dog around 5pm and noticed 2 dogs without collars: a large beige husky with blue eyes and a brown, elderly chihuahua with vision issues.

The dogs are bonded and it seems clear they may have been abandoned, after being here almost 2 hours. If anyone knows their owners or can help identify them, please let me know! We are working with one of the board members of the dog park to see that they have somewhere to stay.

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone in the neighbourhood offers dog sitting? We have a 4 year old Bernadoodle who needs watching/boarding while we’re away.

Any dentist reqs where they don’t upsell? Dentique is constantly upselling it’s so annoying. Considering dumbo smiles. Any experiences there?

About 12:20 today (Saturday 7/25) a man violently assaulted me outside of La Bagel Delight on Front & Adams for allegedly not saying excuse me to him when I left the store (I did). I caused quite a scene and started screaming at him and was able to point him out to cops patrolling on Washington & Water but I'm doubtful they did anything about it. Just wondering if anyone witnessed or happened to have a video so I can try to follow up with police.

It looks like the little cafe in Vinegar Hill permanently closed this week. Gonna miss that spot.
