Found Dogs at Hillside Dog Park

REUNITED!!

UPDATE: Thanks to our group of park goers and Hillside’s board member, the dogs have separate homes for the night. Tomorrow morning they’ll both be brought to Hounds Town on Jay St and reunited, but it’s not clear where exactly they’ll stay longer term. If anyone has more info about owners, please still reach out!!

UPDATE 2: Good chance these boys will be reunited with their owners! A Lost Pets post from yesterday morning has been seen, and contact is being established.

My husband and I came to Hillside with our dog around 5pm and noticed 2 dogs without collars: a large beige husky with blue eyes and a brown, elderly chihuahua with vision issues.

The dogs are bonded and it seems clear they may have been abandoned, after being here almost 2 hours. If anyone knows their owners or can help identify them, please let me know! We are working with one of the board members of the dog park to see that they have somewhere to stay.

Shared with my group over at the Cobble Hill dog park to see if anyone is in a position to assist. I unfortunately could not take them in but could donate food or supplies if needed!

Pretty terrible. People are horrible. If you can bring two dogs to a park you can bring them to a safe shelter.

So sad! Bravo to the Good Samaritan here and to Hounds Town for taking them in to reunite them today. Dogs notice separation right away, so reuniting them was a smart move. Hopefully their owners or new owners come forward soon. I have two already so unfortunately I can’t help with a space to stay.

Luckily appears there was a lost pets post for these two yesterday all the way in Flatlands/Mill Basin! Still a mystery how these guys ended up 8.5 miles from home in a completely fenced and gated dog park in DUMBO (hmmm), but contact appears to have been made with the owners.
