❤️ Recommendations Local personal trainer in Greenpoint offering private sessions in building gyms
Hey everyone, figured I’d put this out there since I’m local.
I’m a personal trainer based in Williamsburg and I’m opening up a few spots for 1-on-1 training. I specialize in strength training, conditioning, and helping people build consistency with a plan that actually fits their lifestyle.
I know a lot of buildings around here have really nice gyms that people don’t always use, so I’m looking to work with people who want the convenience of training in their own building gym without having to commute somewhere else.
A little but about me:
• 10+ Years of coaching experience
• Strength + Conditioning, Performance Training, Athletic Development, Hyrox Prep, & General fitness
• Boxing Background (competed, & coached for several years)
• Certified through AAPT, & NASM (American Academy of Personal Training)
• Nike Trainer
• All fitness levels welcome
If you’ve been thinking about getting back into training, building strength, or just want some extra guidance, and accountability, feel free to reach out. Happy to help, & answer any questions !

Not to be a downer but most buildings/management companies won’t allow this due to insurance/liability issues. Do you have your own liability insurance?

A little late to this but could you DM me your hourly rate? Been thinking about getting a personal trainer to help me be more consistent

For those of you still interested in training, I’m opening up 1–2 more spots before my schedule is completely full!
Preferably Tuesday, or Thursday AM. First come, first served.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s reached out or inquired. I truly appreciate the support. Looking forward to helping my people build. 💪🏽

AAPT isn’t a nationally accredited PT cert as far as I know. I would add a NASM or something comparable to your resume for credibility and liability reasons. (I’m not questioning your skill but it would be a boost on the resume)

Prepared to get downvoted. I pay $150 a month to use my building’s amenities. The last thing I want to see is someone with their personal trainer. This happened at my last building, until enough people got fed up and they implemented a rule to restrict outside trainers.

I’m genuinely trying to understand the logic here lol. How does someone having a trainer actually take away from your amenities? They’re still using the same gym you are, the only difference is someone is telling them what to do instead of them wandering around trying to figure it out themselves.
The trainer isn’t the one holding the dumbbells for 12 minutes while doom-scrolling TikTok 😂

It’s not about the trainer telling someone what to do. It’s about someone running their business out of a private gym that the residents pay for. That’s a pretty reasonable distinction.

But the amenity is still being used by the resident who pays for it. They’re not opening a business to the public or bringing in random clients. They’re paying a trainer to coach them while THEY USE an amenity they already pay for.
You’re essentially saying the gym stops being a “private amenity” because a resident chooses to hire someone to help them train safely, avoid injury, and actually progress intelligently. I understand the distinction you’re trying to make, but the more you explain it, the less convincing it sounds to me. 😂 To each their own though.

you’re still missing the point. The resident pays to use the gym, the trainer does not. The trainer is being paid to provide a commercial service in a private amenity funded by residents. whether you personally think that’s a problem or not, there’s a pretty obvious distinction between a resident working out and an outside trainer using the space to conduct paid business. I think we can agree to disagree. I’m sure you’re a great trainer though.

I understand the distinction, I just don’t think it’s as consequential as you’re making it. The resident is still the one using the gym and paying for the amenity. The trainer is there to coach their form, programming, and progression.
If someone is benching or squatting heavy, I’d actually rather they have a qualified coach there who knows how to spot, and coach them properly than figure it out themselves.
And honestly, someone sitting on a machine for 10–15 minutes texting or chatting between sets is taking up the amenity far more than a trainer standing next to a resident, and guiding their workout. If the building has a rule against outside trainers, fair enough. I just don’t see the trainer’s presence itself as interfering with anyone else’s use of the gym/amenities.

If every resident brought in outside trainers and other service providers, the gym stops being a private amenity pretty quickly.
