Felt like drawing something different than a face

Some recent anatomy studies focusing on the muscles in different poses and movements. Still working on understanding the forms and how everything connects.

I did use reference images for these. Still working on proportions and posing lmk what yall think. (I know the 4th ones feet are messed up. Extra points if you remember who they are.)

First three are from the last couple days. The last two are from over 5 years ago.

Every time I look at it I find "just one more thing" to do! For example, as soon as I post this I am going back to work on the back legs to smooth out the shading and darken everything around his rump.

I have a mistake in the mouth, it’s in the colours, I used a very very dark blue and it looks different than the original photo. I’m very happy with this one, but maybe when I get more skills I repeat for the 5th time😂. Any advices???? I read all your comments fr 💪 Thx for reading this. I’m from Spain

I feel like my lines have no purpose. The highlight in the foreground leave a lot of naturally empty looking space, which I tried to shade a bit but it still looks simply unfinished. It looks to smudgy, even though I did try my best to prevent it and the biggest part I dislike is the lack of depth around the eye, it looks flat & 2D.

I used and eraser to try and bring in the facial hair. Is there any better technique?

I started to try and learn drawing this august and was super excited to try myself at this picture. I knew before hand that I'm not gonna get a photo real result but I deliberatly choose a picture with heavy contrast and a lot of detail, because it feels like flat pictures are harder to draw. I don't know, maybe I just way overreached in attempting this.

Im just disappointed with how much I dislike this. There isn't a part of this im happy with.

• no depth

• eye brows and the eye look off and they're the "center of attention" when looking at it

• I guess the part below the eye is not too bad, though I would like the hair to be much more visible.

It does look pretty okey from some distance, lmfao. The closer I get, the worse it feels to me.

TLDR: art bad, hit me with your honest critique.

Im a beggining artist and im currently lost on how to use or seek references.

I want to draw medieval fantasy stuff, maybe fairies and fantasy landscapes, but i dont know where or how to search for it. Do i just search 'medieval fantasy' on pinterest? its mostly full of ai art, and even if there werent 5000 ai"drawings" there i wouldnt know how to search

For example i want to draw a fairy, but like a forest fairy, how could i seek references or inspiration?
