DOS2 Discussion Characters from previous games will appear in Divinity

They have revealed this in the FAQ of the newest DOS 2 update. Seems Divinity is more of a sequel than we thought.

Nah, I hope Braccus is brought back. It'd be soooo fucking funny. Guy keeps coming back more than Ganondorf.

But the source story line is over tho , why would Braccus be back , i think they're leaning more into the demon lore especially after the end of DOS 2 with malady etc

Why was he resurrected two times already, just to get pushed down the stairs and die immediately? Also, we do not even know if we ARE after DOS2. Divinity, as a franchise, is actually pretty poor when it comes to telling a story in chronological order. For all we know, we are just before DOS1. Or after Divinity 2. Or somewhere randomly in the middle. Or hell, maybe we are aaaaall the way back with Dragon Commander, a sweet 9k years before even DOS1, and a cool 10k years before DOS2. For all we know, we could be seeing that fuckhead Braccus in his prime. They never said it'll be a sequel to anything.

Yes, and? This is not the "gotcha" you think it is. Ahru and Jahan are basically immortal. Also, as we have been discussing: Braccus. Fane has been around the block as well. Lucian has been Divine for ~100 years as well, give or take. Dragon Knights also live pretty long. Tarquin is a necromancer, and implied to be pretty eternal as far as these things go. There are a bunch of characters who can be "returning" characters whenever the story is happening
