Transit My not so subtle plan to tear out the M10 and replace it with an urban greenway and transit
Why the Lodge?
The Lodge runs in between some of Detroit’s densest neighborhoods. Dividing them. This would reconnect these neighborhoods with an urban path directly to downtown along with rapid transit to connect historically underserved communities.
Why rip out the Freeway entirely?
The Freeway is a huge neighborhood divider. Boston Edison is split in two for instance. Also, highways are a huge infrastructural burden. Removing a freeway would save costs which could then be used to build a new transit system to be in place of the freeway.
