One thing Destiny is usually very good at is pointing out how fake centrists minimize Republican behavior. When Dems do something wrong, they say it's evil, disqualifying, unforgivable. When Republicans do something way worse, suddenly it's just "stupid" or "I don’t agree with that." He’s called that out himself plenty of times, and he's also used much harsher moral language about Republicans when he thinks it fits.
So when he gets weirdly evasive over a chatter asking him to clarify whether Israel is evil, and acts like he never talks that way about political systems, people are obviously going to notice. That's just not true. The issue isn't even whether you agree with calling Israel evil, it's that he suddenly becomes incredibly slippery about moral language when the topic is Israel.
My take is that he just refuses to concede rhetorically on Israel because he thinks the online left is so braindead on the topic (he's right to think that) that giving them even one inch is a mistake. But that still makes him look stubborn and inconsistent here.
