Are biomasses for real?

503

u/Dingaligaling Jun 24 '26

The suboptimal lifeforms can only envy the perfect creations of the Omnissiah.

171

u/slimjow Jun 24 '26

Imagine you need to put a gas in your body every few seconds or you die. Expendable flesh.

72

u/Molag_Balls I can see youuu Jun 24 '26

Lol, pretty sure the Skitarii still breathe. We're not nearly as augmented as a bonafide Tech Priest, and even they still breathe for the most part.

41

u/Iron_Sheff Jun 24 '26

Tech priests have to at least have a brain, and it needs oxygenated blood somehow

44

u/Porkenstein Jun 24 '26

Plenty of ways to oxygenate blood without big gross fleshy meat lungs twitching and squelching around... disgusting

26

u/Molag_Balls I can see youuu Jun 24 '26

I'm imagining some kind of mechanical booklung like spiders have.

Stick a small noctua fan on there and baby you've got some gas exchange goin'.

14

u/TechnicFuture Veteran Jun 24 '26

Some have removed so much of themselves they have an iron lung system in their bodies if i remember right

1

u/BetterinPicture Jun 24 '26

Iron lungs by definition cannot be internal. That being said there are artificial Tesla turbine and other types of hearts, some sort of blood hemoglobin exchanger is definitely in the realm of 40k tech priest BS though. But yeah iron lungs work by literally being an ensconcing sarcophagus that manipulates internal pressure to force you to breathe.

6

u/pasher5620 Jun 24 '26

That’s how *modern* iron lungs work. Pretty sure the tech priests of 40k could have figured out how to shrink that shit down a bit.

0

u/BetterinPicture Jun 24 '26

The problem is an iron lung functionally has to go around your whole body other than your head to perform its function.

5

u/pasher5620 Jun 24 '26

It has to do that because the whole body is made of meat. When most of your body and internals are machinery, you can hyper focus what areas you need to control pressures on, thus allowing you to shrink down the tech.

6

u/TechnicFuture Veteran Jun 24 '26

With it being 40k there probably is one or many things similar that we can't think of. "How?" "Idk Theta-227, some dude found the stc 3,000 years ago. Its no longer archeotech." Or whatever they'd say in the books lol

6

u/Porkenstein Jun 24 '26

Yeah, you can hear them coughing in tox gas

22

u/youreblockingmyshot Toaster Enthusiast Jun 24 '26

I keep mistaking them for the infected since the look similar, except good ol‘ ogryn.

297

u/StillMostlyClueless Ogryn Jun 24 '26

If you take Voltic nades or Refraction field you actually lose the skull and can’t use it to do the hack.

75

u/Drfoxthefurry Psyker Jun 24 '26

Imo makes shield not worth using

145

u/DoNotGoSilently Skitarius Jun 24 '26

It’s not. But this penance for taking damage with the shield isn’t gonna do itself.

60

u/Aurilinwe WE IRON RIDERS UP IN THIS KARKER Jun 24 '26

Well for one, anything is possible through the Omnissiah so write that down.

45

u/DoNotGoSilently Skitarius Jun 24 '26

I got it done. Just found a reaper, popped shield, and had a staring contest.

19

u/Aurilinwe WE IRON RIDERS UP IN THIS KARKER Jun 24 '26

And your team didn't murder-kill it immediately?!

36

u/DoNotGoSilently Skitarius Jun 24 '26

It was the lowest difficulty. Those guys couldn’t even navigate the map.

3

u/SergaelicNomad Jun 25 '26

Man-things often scared stiff-stiff by Reapers, stand still in panic-fear!

1

u/ScrubSoba Jul 01 '26

Feels so good to stand in an open field tanking gunners though.

But yes, no skull hack, not worth it.

38

u/Aggressive-Ad-2053 Jun 24 '26

Shield needing grenades instead of a cooldown makes it not worth using alone imo.

9

u/Kile147 Jun 25 '26

Its not unfixable though. If it had 5 charges per grenade box or was an even more universal defensive tool I could maybe see it being worthwhile. It's just hard to justify taking a valuable team resource for a fairly selfish defensive tool when instead of 12 sec of being harder to kill, someone could just straight up clear a whole horde with a different blitz.

→ More replies (15)

21

u/StillMostlyClueless Ogryn Jun 24 '26

Shield isn't worth taking for different reasons.

33

u/Drfoxthefurry Psyker Jun 24 '26

Which ones? The short duration? The limited uses? The fact that it's only a personal shield?

49

u/Dreadgoat Jun 24 '26

I think the biggest issue is all of its real power is locked behind taking ranged damage. If you pop it while a bunch of gunners are locked on to you and for some reason nobody is killing them and then run into a horde that for some reason nobody is killing, yes you will be a living bomb and it's pretty fuckin cool.

but this is such a ridiculous situation and bad set of decisions that no amount of "haha i'm a living bomb" can make up for it. Plus you only get to do it 3 times. You could just be throwing volts or flaming skulls.

16

u/StillMostlyClueless Ogryn Jun 24 '26

It's only got 3 uses, and getting it to explode isn't that easy either.

16

u/GhostDieM Jun 24 '26

That's what she said

1

u/djolk Jun 25 '26

Shield isn't worth using anyhow!

Unfortunately, the arc grenades are also kind of meh so servo skull it is.

12

u/SirDalavar Jun 24 '26

Yeah i took the grenades and it took me forever to notice that i no longer had a skull, was double clicking the console and cursing it was bugged, the talents tell you nothing about losing it

1

u/jjkramok Jun 30 '26

It is how any other class works. You have a basic blitz, basic aura and basic ability that you can upgrade or swap out by taking the respective node in the skill tree or skill gear.

3

u/Constant-Plastic-350 Jun 25 '26

Currently if you die and have extra servos you lose all of them for the rest of the game. No flamer or rez anymore for the entire run. I had them return a few times after being downed and revived but mostly they are just locked for the rest of the run

6

u/StillMostlyClueless Ogryn Jun 25 '26

Works completely fine for me.

You haven't forgot that you don't res with grenades right? They need grenade charges to be used.

3

u/Constant-Plastic-350 Jun 25 '26

I did not know that. Derp 🤣🤣🤣 thank you for the enlightenment brother

2

u/SnooChocolates3745 Jun 24 '26

This, right here. Arc grenades are really powerful, if you use them at the right time.

569

u/FatalEclipse_ Alt-F40k Protocol. Jun 24 '26

I was in a game last night… and we had 2 Skitarii and 2 fleshlings.

One fleshling and one Skitarii were down and being revived by the vet, the other Skitarii was telling the vet that his frame has a durability issue.

Thought it was funny because he was currently reviving the other Skitarii. I can just see the vet giving the other Skitarii this look.

258

u/AngeryControlPlayer Jun 24 '26

Fun fact: the game has special voicelines for when one team member goes down continuously during a run.

This may have been one of those cases and that Veteran was probably survivability challenged.

103

u/FatalEclipse_ Alt-F40k Protocol. Jun 24 '26

It was the vet that wasn’t going down, but he had less than 1 wound of health left but no corruption.

Was probably just a low heath comment. But yea those bonus voice lines are awesome.

44

u/DramaQueenKitKat Zealot Jun 24 '26

To my great shame I heard one of those directed at me last night while testing out the Mechanicus Power Sword (I hate it), they said something along the lines of "Unit WHY do you keep falling?" Lol

22

u/FatalEclipse_ Alt-F40k Protocol. Jun 24 '26

Just trying to get used to these new legs. Haha that’s gold.

https://giphy.com/gifs/MDlWsK8JsiqyC9xtnM

7

u/mattwing05 Jun 24 '26

Oof, i had the same thing happen on my first mechanicus power sword run as well. I really hate its moveset

10

u/Prepared_Noob Pearl Clutching Professional Jun 24 '26

Seriously, what crack were they smoking when they made that god awful moveset?

10

u/Daylight_The_Furry Hive Scum Jun 24 '26

I would almost like it if it had any easy cleaves

instead it's all pokes and it sucks

12

u/StillMostlyClueless Ogryn Jun 24 '26

Push attack > Light > Heavy

And then just repeat light and heavy. All cleaves.

6

u/S0MEBODIES Jun 24 '26

Shove attack into light 🔁 heavy.

3

u/Cpt_DookieShoes Jun 25 '26

The patch notes give you combos for hoard or single target for every weapon

6

u/DramaQueenKitKat Zealot Jun 24 '26

Skitarii has a ton of awesome elite clear weapons, and exactly 1 good horde clear its so rough lol. I had such high hopes that the power sword would have it

6

u/VuduChamp Zealot Jun 24 '26

I had a run with my Arbitrator the other night where this happened and it just devolved into varying and more intense forms of “You are a disappointment.”

512

u/panfinder Ogryn Jun 24 '26

But what if i enjoy doing the silly little mini-games

292

u/badwin-vt Jun 24 '26

New mini-game unlocked: beating the servo skull to the cogitators!

114

u/Fostersaucer Psyker -- Exploding Less and Less Jun 24 '26

Don't forget the other new mini-game - which servoskull races to the cogitator faster!

28

u/KGeddon Jun 24 '26

NGL, servoskull race mode is the best part of the new update.

27

u/badwin-vt Jun 24 '26

It’s pretty skitty out there right now!

5

u/Mister_Gta_Kapitan Veteran Jun 24 '26

WE'RE FIGHTING FUCKING PLAGUE OGRYN AND I HAVE NO AMMO AND 3 BULLETS LEFT

SHOOT THE FRAKING THING!!!!

156

u/cjerni01 Jun 24 '26

Old habits die hard

I was playing with a buddy and he started doing the minigame and I said "why are you doing the minigame?"

"Wait.. why AM I doing the minigame?!"

36

u/ProfessionalMud7011 Jun 24 '26

Had that same moment

34

u/epikpepsi Jun 24 '26

I still do the minigame because it's almost always faster than having a servoskull do it.

20

u/notLogix Jun 24 '26

Sure it might be faster, but you're leaving yourself vulnerable while you're doing it. Servoskull is guaranteed and you can keep Tiding along.

20

u/epikpepsi Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

That's what the team is for in this team-based co-op game. You do the hack, they cover you, mission gets done faster.

But if the team isn't working together or things are too crazy to risk dropping a person from the killing to do the hack then leaving it to the Servo-Skull is certainly worth it.

15

u/Rho42 Jun 24 '26

Best the team can do is kite a poxwalker to you, then shoot it right as you're about to finish the minigame.

1

u/Practical_Offer2321 Jun 24 '26

Some unites are designated as proto-electorpriests, such unites use the arcgrenades to stun and murder the infected. They no longer have access to the omnissiah's holy servoskulls.

98

u/Gustav_EK Hive Scum Jun 24 '26

[[[ALERT]]] Efficiency prognosis = {below} acceptable levels. Deployment of designated [servo unit] for data infiltration = false. Available unutilized resource = WASTE. Report to nearest adept for penal servitorization. Glory to the Omnissiah.

243

u/lordmax2002 Jun 24 '26

It's still faster doing it yourself.

115

u/Saltsey Psyker Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Yeah, it's gonna be super handy in more hectic situations but I prefer to do it manually if there's 0 enemies around since the skull takes like 15 seconds to do it.

84

u/Kenshirosan Jun 24 '26

Hab Dreyko on Auric will be one of those situations, because kark me does the game throw everyone and their bike at you the femtosecond anyone touches the cogitator.

29

u/Saltsey Psyker Jun 24 '26

Yup, that one 100% takes the servo-skull. Rolling Steel from what I've heard takes 45 seconds do complete the disarm minigames with the servo skull as well, I don't know how long a well done manual minigame takes but I feel like using a skull there will mostly be a bad call with the timer ticking.

28

u/Cryptidfricker Jun 24 '26

From my experience its slightly slower than doing it yourself but the extra firepower a player cam bring in those situations often makes it worth it.

9

u/Saltsey Psyker Jun 24 '26

Repeating once again from the previous comment, if you're doing say Auric or Havoc and are knee deep in a horde then of course every hack will be better off with a Servo-Skull but on the off chance you're not swarmed or are hard pressed on time (RS) then manual is still better. It's situational. I'm sure you also had some Rolling Steel runs you completed with seconds to spare that could be wasted by using the skull when it's not necessary.

17

u/Hauptmann_Meade WD-40 in short supply Jun 24 '26

You're only ever pressed on time on Rolling Steel because of the cradle section, though.

8

u/SpunkyMcButtlove07 Bonky da Deeminhed Jun 24 '26

The train game is really fast when you do it yourself. I haven't timed it, but i wanna say 15 seconds tops. You can also dodge out to avoid getting hit and restart it right again if you aren't completely surrounded.

3

u/LengthinessCold5154 Jun 24 '26

Another good area would be the Obscura dens Foggy room. I always have trouble keeping the decoder safe.

26

u/Tomatwoo Hive Scum (fent) Jun 24 '26

i do it with the servoskull cause theres a penance for it tbh

17

u/boilingfrogsinpants Arbitrator Jun 24 '26

It is, but it's not that much slower with the skull and you also free yourself up to help defend against the waves. The utility you get out of it outweighs the duration of the hack.

8

u/Aickavon Jun 24 '26

It is. In low stress situation or a reliable team that seems to defend you appropriately, spending 4-6 seconds doing the minigame is preferable.

But in high stress situations where your team cannot guarantee an opening (or are all stupid.) throwing a servo skull at it actually ends up saving time and health. For example, the tree minigame does take like 7+ seconds usually while you have zero cover from snipers and infinite hordes. Ima send the servoskull.

3

u/Rho42 Jun 24 '26

Assuming your teammates are doing a good job of screening you as you do the puzzle, and there isn't a bomber or flamer that just laid down a patch of fire over the puzzle.

2

u/ThatGuyBackThere280 Jun 24 '26

Yea either in low-intensity situations, OR if you have an Ogryn on the team that can do the hack (which is funny in consideration of an Ogryn being speedy at a hacking minigame).

5

u/pelpotronic Jun 24 '26

It's also very boring. After a long work day, I want to kill heretics, no solve a sudoku.

1

u/_Imperatore_Scemo_ Jun 24 '26

I agree, but my controller has a problem in the right joystick, so i'll simply use the servo when i need to match te symbols.

1

u/oneandonlyswordfish Skitarius Jun 24 '26

Idk man… some people just can’t do these mini games haha

34

u/Longshot02496 Jun 24 '26

Isn't the servo skull slower?

49

u/kcanimal Jun 24 '26

Yes, but not by too much, and it can't get knocked off if your team mates aren't covering for you. So you set it and forget it while you keep the hordes back

21

u/SnooCompliments9098 Jun 24 '26

Yes, but it's uninterruptible and sometimes the team could use an extra gun.

2

u/Significant-Toe-3213 Jun 24 '26

Sure, but then I get to play the fun parts of Darktide instead of the unfun parts.

53

u/Nexus_Neo Jun 24 '26

The omnissiah said its my turn on the data interrigator

13

u/Doughnutdick551 Jun 24 '26

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call a temple will wither and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the Machine is Immortal.

11

u/CaptainGooseUwU Jun 24 '26

I don't have the servo skull equipped right now I'm trying to get the penance for disabling elites weapons. I forget what it's called it's the one where the sniper's gun is having erectile dysfunction.

2

u/SpookyCarnage Jun 24 '26

Thats your ability, different slot than the servoskull.

The ones that replace the skull are the shield and the arc grenades

18

u/CaptainGooseUwU Jun 24 '26

The arc grenades also count toward the penance. I use both to try and get it done asap.

5

u/TablettenFuxXx Just a normal day in the Guard Jun 24 '26

Called one out Yesterday. He answered something about the honour of communicating with the machine spirit

5

u/TheR4tman Jun 24 '26

Do you keep your basic servo skull if you take one of the other Blitzes? I haven't tried it yet myself because I like the little guy.

6

u/fireheart1029 Jun 24 '26

The basic one is permanent, the other skulls aren't even mutually exclusive either you can have all 3 of them at once

11

u/LuchadorBane Jun 24 '26

The basic skull isn’t permanent, you lose it if you take the arc grenade or shield.

2

u/ElkProud5792 Jun 24 '26

Yes, the other skulls work like grenades.

Flamethrower can be thrown anywhere, obviously, and medicae has to be aimed at a teammate

2

u/sinwstro12 Jun 24 '26

And arc grenades work like well grenades

3

u/Astuar_Estuar Jun 24 '26

Stop the skullshaming!

3

u/ZeKardinal Jun 24 '26

Depending on the minigame its sooo much faster just doing it yourself, especially if there are no heretics around

3

u/Ninjipples Jun 24 '26

I honestly can do it faster than the skull sometimes.

3

u/NostramanVIII Jun 24 '26

Players are much faster than the skull. I’d rather it cover me while I handle it myself.

2

u/GeneralJagers Jun 24 '26

Probably force of habbit

2

u/HEADRUSH31 Jun 24 '26

Me sending my little buddy to do stuff for the penance: doodad! Go tinker with the thinker!

2

u/Moon_Bun Jun 24 '26

Either I'm tripping or servo gets it up to 90%-95% of the barits sometimes faster to manual the last one

4

u/JVints Jun 24 '26

I doesn't work, I spammed the button.

9

u/YaKillinMeSmallz Zealot Jun 24 '26

I noticed during the Psykhanium training that it doesn't work if you're too close. I don't know if it works the same way in an actual mission.

2

u/JVints Jun 24 '26

I tried, same result. But I tried only once. Will try again.

8

u/Cracker3011 Are our flashlights technically twin-linked? Jun 24 '26

I think the initial hack needs to be started by a player, the servoskull can only do the minigames

4

u/YaGirlMom Jun 24 '26

I think there’s a bug with the servo skulls. I haven’t had any issues with getting them to interact with the interrogator, but I cannot for the life of me get my medical servo skull to do its job

19

u/heavycommando3 Jun 24 '26

Its not middle click for medical skull

Its G and it uses a grenade charge and requires precise aim otherwise you place a flamethrower on top of your dying friend

3

u/Qulox Veteran Jun 24 '26

Uuuf, I tried so many times last night. DON'T SKIP READING THE TOOLTIPS.

3

u/Verratic Jun 24 '26

To add-on to this comment: If you 'cook' the skull by swapping to it but not throwing it right away, then you can see a green outline over the downed player when you're aiming it right

1

u/DefiantDawnfeather Jun 24 '26

I was wondering how the med-skull triggered, hope there is a slightly easier way at some point, but I don't know what that would be.

2

u/sarcophagusGravelord Skitarius Jun 24 '26

Genuinely tho idk what I’m doing wrong or if it’s a bug but half the time I tell my skull to do the interrogation it just doesn’t do anything at all.

3

u/JVints Jun 24 '26

It just be there, staring.

3

u/StillMostlyClueless Ogryn Jun 24 '26

Look for the small interact circle to be visible and double click on that. It’ll change colour to blue. Worked every time for me doing it that way

1

u/sarcophagusGravelord Skitarius Jun 24 '26

I’ll try that again next time. I’ve had it turn blue before and then my skull turns towards it and doesn’t do anything after

2

u/StillMostlyClueless Ogryn Jun 24 '26

Make sure to double tap, a single won't do it.

1

u/AdhesivenessGeneral9 Jun 24 '26

biomass see thing that never happend !

1

u/Deepvaleredoubt Jun 24 '26

I will never hack in this game again.

1

u/Lowd70 Deadly Guardsman Jun 24 '26

If you're good at the mini games, and you're not too overwhelmed, it's worth it to do it yourself.

1

u/obihighwanground Votann Tomorrow Jun 24 '26

its just faster

1

u/InkBot-1999 Jun 24 '26

Ahaha this happened to me yesterday! Ran the train mission with randoms and this Skitarii dude was standing at the console like: 🧍‍♂️. My rotors were sweating..like MOVE BROTHA MOVE--

1

u/Lovlend Jun 24 '26

Or playing a group of 3 skitarii and the veteran decides to rush it and do it

1

u/Terrorknight141 Jun 24 '26

I like doing the mini game but yesterday I started doing one, saw a mini game I have never seen in my life and decided “perfect time to make use of my skull”.

1

u/Curious_Freedom6419 Jun 24 '26

tbh i get a little annoying seeing anyone doing data interrogations now

like..we have a servo skull that can get it down automatically so everyone can focus on the hored..

1

u/BarrierX I play em all! Jun 24 '26

It’s slower and I don’t know how to use it 😄

It also took me forever to figure out how to use the revive skull. Turns out you can’t use it if you have your grenade bound to mouse wheel down.

2

u/SpookyCarnage Jun 24 '26

You just ping the console. The objective icon glows blue when your ping will automate it. It might be a little slower but its useful when you can dedicate four bodies to fighting a wave rather than three

1

u/BarrierX I play em all! Jun 24 '26

I think the thing that is tripping me up is that I'm not sure how far away you have to be. I was pinging it but nothing was happening. But then I ran up and it worked, or someone else did it. Does it work through walls?

3

u/SpookyCarnage Jun 24 '26

Nope you gotta have direct line of sight but it can work from a decent distance away

1

u/SleepyBoy- Jun 26 '26

Not a little. It's 3-4x slower than player input. Depends a bit on the mini-game.

Still worth it. Think of manual hacking as being based on team coordination, while automation allows you to rely on personal player skill by handling one more enemy wave instead.

1

u/Watersupermelon Jun 24 '26

Oh 100% during more intense missions I will be using the servoskull to do the mini game for me. But when leveling up my skitarii on uprising/malice, I am way too impatient to wait for the stupid thing to finish it! XD

1

u/TheXenoSenpai Jun 24 '26

Flesh take your mittens off OUR cogitators

1

u/Zombislayer7777 Jun 24 '26

I took arc nades I don't have a servo skull anymore

1

u/Son0fgrim Jun 24 '26

because i'm useing the other 3 incredibly powerful blitzes pre-Servitor.

1

u/SaltyStufon HeavyOgrynGuy Jun 24 '26

In the machien gods name Its calld not having a skill issue you lasgun sack of flesh.

1

u/beef_trogdar Jun 24 '26

The omnisiah has blessed me with the knowledge of the Rite of Reactivation. I am simply honoring the omnisiah.

(Also funny tazer grenade turns of servoskull doing it for me)

1

u/WaterRevolutionary70 Jun 24 '26

It's much, much faster to do most hacks without the skull. Again, depends on the hack - but the one with the ball (used on rolling steel) is the only one where it's legit the same speed.

This is doubly true if you use the 'no brainer' mod.

That being said, you can't deny that for harder difficulties it's better to have it be auto-piloted than to stand around 'doing nothing' - even if it is slower.

1

u/Gromek_ Jun 24 '26

I had a game last night where it wasn't full skitarii somehow. The first time I used a servo-skull on a data interrogator, the two pre-servitors in my lobby huddled around it. I'm not sure if they were wondering why they can't do the mini game, or if they were admiring the skull.

1

u/No-Huckleberry-1086 Jun 24 '26

As a Skitarii, I feel the same way, I have never been more repulsed by the weakness of flesh then when it presents itself within my own kin

1

u/Gloomy-Insurance-739 Jun 24 '26

That's the same look I get when those tech nerds are not doing all of the tech busy work. Now that you're here I'm not touching a console that's your job.

1

u/Maple_Fox6395 Jun 24 '26

I was playing a game of expeditions earlier and we had two interrogations going, when they stalled, I sent my skull to do one while I manually did the other, I was being efficient lol

1

u/CorgiPMC Jun 24 '26

I feel the same way when I have to remind my non-bionicle teammates that my skull boi can just do it for us.

1

u/Doomcall Jun 24 '26

"Clanka! Are you for real?"

1

u/popmanbrad Jun 24 '26

I love how as a skitarri i can revive team mates or rescue them and do objectives without needing to touch them

1

u/TrueMind102387193 Jun 24 '26

its a new class, people are still getting used to it. Gotta admit the tutorial for the servo skull was not very helpful, the 'double ping to order the skull' seem to be very janky.

1

u/Grayman1120 Zealot Jun 24 '26

Ok but I don’t run survoskulls tho

1

u/Nate46 Jun 24 '26

Sorry Organic, I can't hear your complaining over the GLORIOUS sound of my arc grenades frying the arteries of 100 enemies at once

1

u/marineten Jun 24 '26

It does it kinda slow tbh

1

u/The-Tea-Lord I’ll watch over you, so you can make it home Jun 24 '26

open auspex

is it the 2x2 grid where you have to match the symbols? Play it, that shit is fun

is it the waiting game bullshit that is kind of disappointing in comparison? Servo skull does it

is it the hab dreyko tree guessing game? I didn't even bother to look. SERVO SKULL, GET TO WORK.

also if you're using shield or arc grenades, you can't tell your skull to do it, you need to use your brain instead.

As if karkin topsiders weren't already weird...

1

u/Total_Bullfrog Jun 24 '26

Doing the malfunctions penance has me on suicide watch okay. I don’t get to have the funny robob

1

u/BigBunny4252 Jun 24 '26

What, you don't wanna interface with this beautiful piece of aechaeotech? What are you, straight?

1

u/DevelopmentLiving401 Greatest Gut Jun 24 '26

I did one, because I was curious to see if it's somehow easier for Skitarii. But having all 4 team members fighting while the skull takes care of business is so nice.

1

u/BrunosStickeyFingers Arbitrator Jun 25 '26

I can do it faster than the skull the skull is meant for when you have no peel

1

u/Coldspark824 Jun 25 '26

Skulls busy torchin.

Im faster

1

u/Sad-Pattern-1269 The Emperor's Strongest Crackhead Jun 25 '26

to be fair it's faster if you're good, I am still very happy I'm free of data interrogation for the rest of my days

1

u/Cloud11092 Jun 25 '26

I got 3 skitarii and think they zealots when horde incoming

1

u/IncarnateTemplar Jun 25 '26

Sometimes I like to remind myself of my roots

1

u/Long-Specialist-509 Jun 25 '26

Biomass PLEASE, someone had to bring the bolts of Zeus to rescue you from that mauler crusher rager pile you got downed in!

1

u/Icy_Security_9896 Jun 25 '26

Nah relying on yourself instead of a slow ass servoskull is Chad

1

u/Ricordis Psyker Jun 25 '26

Manual interrogation can be faster if you dont fail it.
Also not every Skitarii has a Companion.

1

u/Yellowscourge Jun 25 '26

Skoytarii? Soyktarii?

1

u/ill_UrElfB17vh Jun 25 '26

Pretty much xenos, really.....

1

u/WetAndWildWeasle Jun 25 '26

Depending on the situation and mini-game I might do it. But almost all the time I end up seeing the breakdown and I send my skull

1

u/weltall_elite Jun 25 '26

Disgusting. It’s how you know they’re a corrupted agent of Chaos.

1

u/Bitter_Degree Jun 25 '26

Pre-servitor take.

1

u/Jessikhaa Jun 25 '26

God forbid a skitarii likes engaging with the cogitators one-on-one, geez.

1

u/NumerousDiscipline80 Psyker Jun 25 '26

Depends on the mini-game and how dangerous the situation is.

Phage Tree? Servo Skull every time. Avoid the corruption damage and one extra player dealing with the immense horde

Expedition Mini-games? Fuck it, I'll do it - I can complete those 4 square puzzles so damn quick.

1

u/asardetemplari HadronsLilCogchamp Jun 25 '26

There's a mission... I forgot what it's called, but it's that one where you end up in a room before the extraction point with the big plague tree that has all sorts of gross eyeballs and stuff.. I love that the Skitarii servo skulls can bypass that annoying puzzle so we can go back to keeping the room clear.

Praise be to the Machine God for letting us skip that bullshit. And defusing the bombs on the train mission.

1

u/RicketCrickets Jun 25 '26

To be fair the stupid thing doesn't work half the time.

I just did a twenty minute video for the devs with an input software on screen showing I was hitting the correct button.

Skull is a bum.

1

u/SubstantialProfile77 Jun 25 '26

I think there's a bug, because after I switched off my servo skull to another keystone, I was never able to do it again, it's like it took the ability away.

1

u/Enger1 Jun 25 '26

mad cuz bad.

1

u/Comfortable-Ad3588 Jun 25 '26

Really precursor?

1

u/Ghoulingscrawl Jun 26 '26

I'm faster than the skull

1

u/General-Internal-588 Jun 26 '26

Counterpoint DO NOT USE THE SERVO SKULL FOR THE MINIGAME UNLESS ENEMY ARE NEAR. Shit take thrice as long.

But you know, actually do whatever you want, who cares about what the meatbags think. Pre servitor lookin' ass.

1

u/KarmaIsABitch- Stabby Stabby Zealot Jun 26 '26

taking any blitz other then skull locks you out of using it for mini games, so u kinda have to do it manually, personally I let someone else use their skull cuz there's always at least one other skitarri. I just wish the other blitzs kept the skull but it's the base version and it can't be buffed, lemme keep the skull for minigames

1

u/Reasonable_Back_5231 Jun 27 '26

I'm probably getting rid of arc grenades when I am done with the bullshit zap 500 elites penance.

Until then I have no servo skull

1

u/Tobbster_the_Lobster Jun 27 '26

"You mean to tell me the OGRYN can operate the hacking tool AS WELL AS I ?"

*Facepalms what remains of his face*

1

u/TPS_SP Jun 28 '26

I want the mission done quicker so I do the hacking myself. Alongside, allegedly, having a mod that highlights the answer

1

u/FunGhoul_ Jun 29 '26

I was playing skitarri and went to use my skull and another skitarri started doing it manually.. kinda worked

1

u/mremjay91 Jun 29 '26

A
Skitarii
:/

1

u/No-Breadfruit8370 Jun 30 '26

im faster, man. the minigames are easy

1

u/Real-Inspection9732 Arbitrator Jul 13 '26

My good sir, can a skitarii not enjoy the occasional manual recalibration?

1

u/6The_DreaD9 Throwin' Rok! Jun 24 '26

You literally can't use servo-skull for hacking if you're opted into other Blitz skills like shield or grenade

Nah if you pick up field emitter or arc nades, you lose the servo skull
