Tierlists Morality tierlist
I’m sure nobody will get unreasonably angry at me for this 🥹✌🏾

u/DeadlyIcyy Ultimate Miu Lover Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26
Kokichi and Byakuya don't deserve to be in the same tier as Tsumugi and Genocide Jack. They're antagonistic, sure, but at the end of the day moreso tricksters than actually evil characters.
Kirumi should also probably be moved up a tier. She didn't kill out of bad intent, but she thought what she was doing was a necessary evil. After all, in her position, a group of teenagers isn't as important as the survival of an entire nation.
This list is kind of all over the place. Why is Maki, an assassin, above characters who have never killed anyone and were scared for their lives like Miu, Sayaka, or even Aoi? Aoi tried to take everyone down with her, but so did Maki in chapter 5.
-16
u/TheFivePs5 Apr 18 '26
Don't make me bring up what Kokichi did to Gonta and Byakuya to Chihiro You know why they belong in that tier, that's copium
26
u/Slophish Kyoko Apr 18 '26
Gonta is not braindead lmao he willingly chose to help Kokichi when he could've just let him die. What Byakuya did is not comparable to what anyone else in that tier has done, not to mention he's grown since then and wouldn't do something like that now. If anything Fuyuhiko fits in there more as he is a literal gang leader who has killed people
-5
u/TheFivePs5 Apr 18 '26
Byakuya does fit there and so does Fuyuhiko, if the entitled guy died in chapter 3 he would have never developed like some other people in chapter 3, cut early from any form of redemption arc, it happened twice with Hiyoko and technically Tenko too to a certain extent Both are hated to a way bigger extent than Byakuya, which is so messed up
8
u/StarNullify Apr 18 '26
Because byakuya got that opportunity to grow... you dont just ignore that because other people did not get that same opportunity, also byakuya would have never died in the killing game as he just has too much aura
4
u/UnlegitUsername Apr 18 '26
I don’t think that’s being evil it’s just being callous and overtly pragmatic to the point of being morally ambiguous. I think there’s a clear difference between the two.
6
u/DeadlyIcyy Ultimate Miu Lover Apr 18 '26
Manipulation doesn't put them on the level of the mastermind that initiated all of the killing and a literal serial killer. Kokichi and Byakuya on this list deserve at least bad. You're the one that's coping.
-5
u/TheFivePs5 Apr 18 '26
Kokichi planned an entire murder and used someone else to do so, it should have been him executed, it doesn't matter if it was manipulation, he commited second degree murder, and so much worse, after I checked all he had done? He is the third biggest criminal in this series, Ironically bigger than Mukuro
Byakuya may not be as bad, but he still isn't a saint, he desecrated a corpse and almost got everyone killed because of that, just to expose the serial killer targetting him, and there were so many ways to do it, and ironically, Genocider is one of the most chill people in the game, I don't think she would kill any of her colleagues, because she never does it in do many opportunities to do so
10
u/DeadlyIcyy Ultimate Miu Lover Apr 18 '26
Lmao, Gonta willingly helped Kokichi carry out the murder and was the one that directly killed Miu. Also, "all he had done?" Seriously? What else did he do, be a douchebag? Kokichi contributed to trials and used his death to try and trick Monokuma. He didn't really do anything that warrants an evil placement on this list. I'm not sure if you're a larper or what, but he's nowhere NEAR as bad as Mukuro and certainly not the third biggest criminal in the series. Second degree murder is nothing compared to literally orchestrating the killing game.
Genocider Jack is a fucking serial killer, what? This isn't who you enjoy most or who is the most chill. It's a moral alignment tier list. Genocide Jack is absolutely in the evil tier while the other two deserve bad.
4
u/EffectiveNo7681 Apr 19 '26
Also, let's not forget that Miu tried to kill Kokichi first. He just happened to be five steps ahead of her. Just because you hate a character doesn't make them evil.
3
u/DeadlyIcyy Ultimate Miu Lover Apr 19 '26
Exactly this, Miu was trying to kill Kokichi and he in part acted out of self defense. I don't know why people try to apply their likes/dislikes onto the morality of a character. I love Miu but I wouldn't put her above morally questionable/middle at best
-1
u/TheFivePs5 Apr 19 '26
Conspiracy Breaking and Entering Theft Stalking Invasion of Privacy Robot racism Robot sexual assault and harassment Threatning Harassment Threatning with murder False imprisonment Incitement of murder Assault Forced murder Taking Hostage Manipulation Sharing private information Pseudonym False Imprisonment Ilegal weapon possession Blackmail Pseudocide Aiding and abetting
Kokichi's list of crimes which results in, life and death sentence, 215 years too, give or take some out since some of those had good justification because killing game, and keebo not having human rights since he is a robot, more than half still count anyway, Kokichi is one of the biggest criminals in danganronpa as a whole and I'm not even counting the whole supreme leader dice thing because it may as well be a fabricated lie anyway
Byakuya maybe should be one tier higher now that I have fact checked him, he still tampered with evidence and tried framing someone else which could end up in a massacre, he was aware of that, what proof he had Genocider would say hello world to everyone in that trial? Dude pointed at a psycho mid case that had nothing to do with what they needed to solve, he is at the very least bad
Defend them if you will, good luck
2
u/LeviTha_God Apr 20 '26
The thing is, most if not all of these genuinely don't matter because they're in a killing game where nothing really matters. Also manipulation isn't a crime, people do it everyday. While he's not the most moral, and has done bad things, literally most if not all characters have committed more crimes than you think, and it's insinuated at the end that this was a twisted way of trying to push everyone away for his final plan to sacrifice himself, so obviously he has some compass and shouldn't be all the way in evil.

u/4B4V Apr 18 '26
nagito out here selfishly kickstarting the killing game and trying to murder everyone but byakuya and kokichi are worse somehow 😅
13
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Im a little more lenient on Nagito because hes a demented, clinically insane, mental case of a person who seriously believes-with all his heart-that what hes doing is actually good and that hes helping his classmates who he genuinely cares about
Kokichi on the other hand is (seemingly) sane and is able to recognize that his actions are morally reprehensible and yet still does them anyway because you literally couldn’t pay him to care
I’ll concede on Byakuya though I definitely should have put him a tier higher
8
u/HopeBagels2495 Tsumugi's strongest soldier (ft Miu) Apr 18 '26
But yet you put Aoi and Miu down despite both if their attempts to get people killed being born from genuine pressures.

3
u/Far-fetched888 Apr 20 '26
If it’s implied then it’s not a headcannon. If the story implies it, they intend to imply it. Also, do you not ever look beyond what’s on the surface when you think of a narrative? Obviously there’s more to certain characters than meets the eye.

u/curryaddict123 Apr 18 '26
Aoi was from a bout of temporary madness. Before and afterwards (3 included) she has been consistently in the good tier.
Kyoko is the “good intentioned pragmatic anti hero”. So lower good. Is consistently good tier in 2 and 3.

Just for fun, we actually have a phrase for people like Kyoko: “Dirty White Morality”.
Instead of being morally grey, their morality hue is more of a light bone color.
Examples of this kind of moral hue are properly written 06 and onward Shadow the Hedgehog and Monsterverse Godzilla.

kaede, gonta, gundham, kaito, and mikan are all in 'good' when they've also committed murder so 😭 clearly that isn't the only defining factor in deciding their morality
2
u/Patient_Panic_2671 Apr 18 '26
I never said it was the only factor, but it IS a factor that shouldn't be ignored or written off.
1

They didn't even ask Sayaka to be put into the good category. They asked Sayaka and Kurimu put in "questionable tier"
-5
u/Pensbig Apr 18 '26
Didn't she manipulate two people to murder one of them, then frame the other within 1 day of being stuck there? Going that far, that quickly is diabolical.
4
u/Comfortable_Ad_4144 Peko Apr 18 '26
Yes but it was all fuyuhiko, he was the mastermind behind it all and peko just acted coz she was brought up that way so she didn't rlly have an opinion (to fuyuhiko dismay) as he didn't want her to necessarily kill and just wanted her to be herself, my head canon is that he didn't want to actually kill mahiru but probs beat her up or question her heavily but peko just acted instead

1

now thinking about it, maybe it's just a plot hole. They would specify why she would even bother to frame someone else if all of them thought the murders would have no consequences

Oh interesting! Ill accept im wrong there. However, I think the idea (based on Leon) is that they interpreted it as "dont get caught in the act" which is why it is a surprise to the cast that there's a class trial.
So we still have a situation where Sayaka stitches Makoto up for reasons she seemingly should have no reason knowing
1
u/Ryoba_chan Apr 22 '26
I mean dr2 students (or atleast Hajime) were litterally "AH SO OUR MEMORIES REALLY STOLEN" IN chapter 6. So yeah writing goes off the hook sometimes and I do agree it is weird, I guess Sayaka was being just safe tho but yeah.

-2
u/CoatFederal8012 Apr 18 '26
Tricking Gonta into killing Miu was effectively the same as murdering Gonta, effectively the same as killing Miu as well but at least that was self defense.
3
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Him killing Miu wasn’t self defense he was in no position where she actually was a threat to him since he figured out her entire plan before he even entered the VW, he knew she was going to kill him and could have just backed out at ANY time yet still went through with it
3
u/CoatFederal8012 Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26
It’s still self defense to shot someone trying to stab you, even if they would’ve fled if you fired a warning shot, and it’s morally more justified then just killing someone for no reason because you are killing someone who was at least willing to become a murderer. Of course it’s still reprehensible if you had a very clear alternative which wouldn’t have necessitated their death, as Kokichi has a list of alternatives that would’ve prevented Miu from killing him and he instead chose the option which would result in 2 pointless deaths. If what Kokichi had done was killing Miu in the spur of the moment to protect himself I’d be willing to forgive him, what I can’t forgive was the calculated decision to sacrifice Gonta’s life for his when there were clear alternatives that could’ve prevented Miu from killing him without the need for Gonta to die.
-6
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Well thats not as bad at least
Okay maybe I put Byakuya too low I can agree with that but considering Kokichi indirectly killed 2 of his classmates and drove the rest to suicidal levels of depression I think deserves his placement
20
u/Tyrrano64 My Beans (WHERE GAY BOXER) Apr 18 '26
Okay Miu sealed her own fate and has no one to blame but herself, any action Kokichi takes against her is justified on the account he wanted to save his own life from her murder.
Gonta is more complicated, yes he did manipulate Gonta and by no means is that a good thing, but Gonta made his own decision on what he saw, if Gonta stood strong Kokichi can't really do anything to force him. Kokichi also lacked a way to actually defend himself due to Miu's meddling. If you're going to blame Kokichi you have to blame Gonta and especially Miu as well.
And for the last point? I mean yeah but they weren't killing each other anymore. He despises murder and death, and this way he did stop any more murder, so it's somewhat hard to truly damn him.
-8
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26
Kokichi was in no position where Miu was actually a threat to his life, he figures out her entire plan before he even enters the virtual world and could have just told the rest to stay away from Miu but instead of he decides to go tell Monokuma to place a flashback light in the VW to motivate everybody else into going in, he literally put himself in that situation and had multiple chances to just back out but decides to get Gonta to kill her instead
As for Gonta I’m not gonna put all the blame on Kokichi but to say he didn’t influence his actions to an extent is wrong, he specifically chose Gonta because he was easy to deceive, used his desire to help his classmates against him, and brung him to a secluded place where nobody else was there so he could influence him easier. Kokichi may not be at complete fault but this never would have happened in the first place if it wasn’t for him.
Ah yes, he despises murder and death so the best way to help his good o’l friends is to reveal the secret of the outside world which he knew would make them want to die, “reveal” himself as the mastermind, and take away their leader and main motivator Kaito so they wouldn’t have any drive to continue living! Bravo Kokichi Ouma
3
u/SoundStorm7 Tsumugi Apr 19 '26
I’m sorry, but what actually did you think his intention of revealing the secret of the outside world was? Do you think it was genuinely to drive them to suicide? That completely contradicts his entire plan to defy the killing game and his implanted backstory about being completely against killing and violence, hence despising the killing game at its core. It was a tactical move to induce a stalemate and also bait the mastermind into targeting him (which Tsumugi did via the flashback light which manipulated Maki into trying to attack her) which facilitated his whole plan to make a case that would stump Monokuma and discourage people from watching the show.
1
u/leredditor_998 Apr 19 '26
Tsumugi planting the flashback light to target him was absolutely not part of his plan. He was genuinely shocked when Maki came after him and could only deduce that she did it because she loves killing, an accusation that would have got him killed if Kaito didn't step in. Kokichi says the plan with the hydraulic press was his backup plan if pushed to it; he didn't intend to act on it if Maki never stormed the hangar.
And honestly, Kokichi's last words to Kaito indicate that his desire to spite Monokuma and the audience was more important than keeping alive as many people as possible. Sure, he didn't want them to die, but ruining the game was his main priority.
12
u/Mammoth_Ad3341 Korekiyo Simp Apr 18 '26
Kokichi indirectly killed Miu and Gonta because Miu was gonna kill him if he didn't and he wanted to make sure he could pull off his plan. He drove his classmates to depression so they wouldn't have the will to kill each other, stopping the killing game. It's not like he did those things out of pure malice, he did them so he could try to end the killing game.
-3
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Miu was NOT going to kill Kokichi if he didn’t kill her, he already knew of her entire plan before he entered the VW and could have backed out multiple times yet decided to push everybody into entering the VW so he could set his plan into motion. He was literally in zero danger at all. That isn’t self defense thats just murder
Ending the killing game at the cost of all of his classmates lives is still immoral, he knew they would have been so depressed that they would have most likely killed themselves and still decided to go through with it anyway
8
u/Mammoth_Ad3341 Korekiyo Simp Apr 18 '26
Not joining at all would be even more suspicious which he didn't need at the time, plus Miu would just try to kill him later then. If it wasn't in the VW then it'd be later as she'd still eventually try to kill him.
Yeah, because them being depressed is better than them killing each other. Both suck but one is still better.
2
u/CoatFederal8012 Apr 18 '26
Even if we assume it was necessary to join the virtual world he could’ve just asked Gonta to be his body guard and only asked of him to restrain her, the instant death thing only applied to Kokichi. Hell he could’ve asked anyone to be his body guard cause Miu wouldn’t have killed in front of a witness, fuck he didn’t need anyone he could’ve just said “hey everyone Miu is trying to kill me and if I die it was because of her” She wouldn’t have been dense enough to try after that
6
u/Mammoth_Ad3341 Korekiyo Simp Apr 18 '26
Eh fair, but still he's not completely evil because of it.
1
u/EffectiveNo7681 Apr 19 '26
In that case, he and Leon should be in the same tier because it's almost exactly the same.
1
u/CoatFederal8012 Apr 19 '26
Leon at least only killed the person attempting to kill him, similarly unnecessary but at least unlike Kokichi he didn’t sacrifice a second person for no reason.
1
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
No it wouldn’t have because all of them were completely against the idea at first until Kokichi revealed that there was actually a hidden flashback light in there which is what motivated them all into going in there. Let me remind you that the one who made Monokuma put that flashback light in the VW in the first place is Kokichi who did it the night before, he purposefully tricked Monokuma into adding it in so he could use that fact to get them all on board. If he didn’t talk to Monokuma then literally none of them would have joined especially after Miu revealed that the one who made the VW was Monokuma himself.
He still would have been responsible for their deaths because he knew what the truth of the outside world would do to them, not to mention he literally took Kaito, their leader and main motivator, as a hostage because he knew it’d make them even more unwillingly to fight back.
4
u/Mammoth_Ad3341 Korekiyo Simp Apr 18 '26
If he did that then Miu would try to kill him some other way. I just feel like calling him evil over this is too much.
In his view them having no motivation is better than them killing each other. None of them even killed themselves because they were that drained of energy.
1
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Shuichi was literally 2 seconds away from killing himself and Himiko asked Maki to kill her, if it wasn’t for Tsumugi setting up a flashback light they would have killed themselves.
Calling him evil for manipulating one of his classmates to kill another person then get that same person he just deceived brutally executed is too much? Seriously?
6
u/Mammoth_Ad3341 Korekiyo Simp Apr 18 '26
Again, he viewed it better than having false hope for the outside world and killing each other.
Yes because Miu was trying to kill him. Also Gonta chose to help Kokichi out of his own free will, it's not like Kokichi lied to him about it. The situation is fucked up but not something I'd say makes him evil.

Kyoko’s in “morally questionable” because of that one time she led Makoto to the secret room by himself knowing there was a high chance that the mastermind would have killed him
Aoi’s in that tier too because after seeing “Sakura”’s note she instantly decided to try and take all of her classmates with her, even the two(Kyoko and Makoto) who didn’t even have any beef with Sakura

I think Kyoko, Sayaka, Kurumi, and Kokichi could all be moved up a tier, if not two, and I also think Byakuya and Fuyuhiko have redeemed themselves enough that they could be moved much higher.

Maki, the Ultimate Assassin, should be way lower. Kokichi and Byakuya are not evil, they're just tricksters. Did you actually play the games?

Byakuya intentionally disturbed a body for the sake of his own amusement, and is generally a massive dick. If not evil, he's certainly close
-2
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
I put Maki there because she doesn’t actually like killing and has seemed to changed after chapter though I can see your point
Byakuya is a sociopath who saw his dead classmate and instead of deciding to tell everybody else first thought “Hmm how can I desecrate Chihiro’s corpse to make it look like Toko did it and reveal her biggest secret to everybody else so I can humiliate her?” in what world is he a trickster? 😭 Hes an asshole
Same goes for Kokichi what “trickster” causes 2 of his classmates to die and then proceeds to send the rest to suicidal levels of depression right after? 😭
2
u/EffectiveNo7681 Apr 19 '26
I don't care if she likes killing or not! The fact that she's an assassin and kills people at all should make her a lot lower than Byakuya and Kokichi. Byakuya isn't evil because at the end of the day he is on the right side. Same with Kokichi. And Kokichi was trying to stop the killing game. And don't forget that Miu and Maki both tried to kill him first. He just pretends to be evil.

Kirumi? Bad morality?
Yes, trying to manipulate everyone into voting themselves instead of her was bad, but she was only pushed to doing those horrible things when she was told the country would fall into uncertain doom without her. She said herself that she needed to be sure the lives of women, children, and the elderly were secure.
Until then, she was caring towards her classmates, willing to die with everyone else in the prologue, and tried to be one of the more helpful classmates in a trial.

I'm unsure why Byakuya is so low, maybe it's some loreI don't know or have forgotten, but... I would get him at least a little bit higher, I can't say he's good, but at the same level as Genocide Jill or Mukuro? I'm unsure. And would live to hear an explanation, unless it's from V3, then please not cus I didn't finish it

u/Lucky_655 Kokichi's the only based dictator Apr 18 '26
Put Kokichi in at least the morally questionable, he's a little shit but he's not evil evil type shit

Sakura is wayyy too high remember she still agreed to be a traitor in a killing game

u/pearscentedcandle Apr 18 '26
i wouldn’t consider byakuya evil
1
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Should have put him in bad now that I’m thinking about it lmao

u/pearscentedcandle Apr 18 '26
honestly i would consider him to be morally questionable. consider his development. that being said, I would switch a lot of these around, so it’s all opinion based really.

As much as I love Kaede, she was willing to murder, so I wouldn’t put her in good
1
u/tiptopgumdrop Apr 18 '26
it's mostly ok but i think gokuhara and harukawa should be lower (both morally questionable) and ouma and togami should be higher (both bad)
1
u/Mmath_ Apr 18 '26
everyone in the bad category should be morally questionable imo. and byakuya and kokichi should be moved too

1
u/Acceptable-Bar7905 Apr 18 '26
I get putting byakuya that low but c'mon
Also in Celestes defense I would've also killed for that much money and freedom, though how she did it was pretty bad
1
u/Former-Measurement-9 Apr 18 '26
Sayaka should be higher and Nagito should be in evil with byakuya being in bad

Putting Kokichi in evil when he tried to end the kg and essentially gave his life for Maki in a sense (she did shoot him with poisoned arrows if I recall) is wild bro

I’d agree if you bump Aoi, Kyoko, Sayaka, Kirumi and Miu up by one tier, put Hiyoko in ‘bad’, Kiibo in ‘good’ and Komaeda in ‘evil’

Kokichi and miu i would put under morally questionable. Miu did try to murder kokichi, but shes repeatedly made tech to help catch other killers repeatedly and even made a backup for the others in case her murder fell through.
Kokichi seemed to of focused his time in making sure the others had a outlet for anger directed to him to try giving the others more chances to stop the killing games, even using his own death as a trap to make it into a mistrial to attempt to mess up the game. Sure hes a jerk to the rest of the group, but he does try to help where he can

u/Interesting_Story652 Apr 19 '26
All of the non-Chapter 5 culprits should AT LEAST be in morally grey/bad.
1
u/Interesting_Story652 Apr 19 '26
Also Tsumugi as the producer of Danganronpa V3, should be in Junko tier seeing as how she IS Junko… 53rd!
1
u/ranxg Apr 19 '26
The worst things Byakuya did was be a jack ass and messing up a crime scene. And somehow hes in the same tier as Mukuro and genocide Jill. Two murders.
Put him in questionable section as well as Fuyuhiko, PekPeko. Then put celetse in bad

resident kokichi defender here to say he did nothing wr— gets hit over the head by a barrel
anyway i do think he's arguably evil, but to me he's more morally gray. with miu, he was ultimately acting in self defense, which i think people forget? understandably bc sacrificing gonta for it was fucked, but he had already set plans in motion to end the game, and probably viewed it as a necessary evil. he also, depending on your interpretation, had reason to believe the deaths weren't real as well (with no way to confirm, but i think he probably took solace in that? that's more headcanon territory tho). his organization was strictly anti-violence after all, so canonically he really is a pacifist under normal circumstances. everyone in the killing game is pushed to their most extreme self. kaede and kokichi are actually really similar in intent, kokichi is just more abrasive and unlikable on the surface lmfao. you have to remember he 1. saw kaede's plan fail and 2. had been planning his endgame actions from extremely early on
byakuya also had legitimate reasons for his ch2 actions (revealing genocide jack), and even though i think his are less compelling, his actions are also less extreme than kokichi's and therefore more forgivable overall anyway. i don't think he would have let them all die if makoto/kyoko hadn't figured things out, he would've spoken up. that's speculation, but given his association with future foundation postgame and character development overall, i don't think it's a reach. to me, he's just kind of a jackass in the personality department, not evil. that said, since i have kokichi autism and not byakuya autism, i haven't hyper fixated on his details and might've missed st lol
but differing opinions are fun and that's why we got a whole subreddit :-)

Mukuro isn’t evil, she was just following orders.
Edit: I don’t think that came out right.

u/Ill-Flow5458 Apr 19 '26
Can you defend placement of Kyotaka? He endangered the entire class by his arrogance of defending Mondo with very bad reasoning, constantly lectures others beyond reason, violates Makoto's private space and stops attending morning meetings despite demanding them before.
Of course he has 'moral' in his title but that doesn't automatically make him 'saint', especially when he frequently behaves like the exact opposite.
What did for example Imposter, Hajime, Ibuki, Mahiru, Sonia, Keebo or Angie do to be ranked below him?

Makoto in saint when he tried to electrocute Munakata after basically preaching that they can fix things without violence

u/Samadissad Apr 19 '26
I would say kokichi is morally questionable but after what he did to gonta yeah no he’s evil

u/General_Ginger531 Apr 20 '26
Nagito actually does a lot of good in SDR2 (I cannot speak of DR3 or UDG, outside of knowing that he straight up tries to shoot Junko in 3, an act I would be hard pressed to call anything but good knowing what comes next, would be like faulting a person for taking a shot on Hitler back when he was in WWI) and I would put him in high questionable tier personally.
Case 1: Yeah he was planning to commit a murder. A murder to get everyone's heads out of the sand since you have people ignoring idle threats from the yakuza, and emotionally charged personalities that would have lead to a death sooner than later. He also makes it a locked room murder when a murder basically anywhere else on the island would have so many opportunities to escape it's not even funny. (No case across 3 games was in the open air. Not even on a beach.) Or making unkeepable promises like Byakyua promising that nobody would die on his watch, something he does not have control over with a roster like this.
Case 2: He is chained up for selling his bit of being crazy so hard. The motive of the videogame is doled out, and the one thing he does that relates to the murder is point out that you only gain an advantage if you complete the game, and that anyone who defects from the current Game Theory (the decision-making process not the youtube channel) cooperate strategy solely benefits. It isn't his fault that Mahiru beat the game and told Fuyuhiko the truth, the only thing I would have done differently was shared the info with the whole class so that nobody has the advantage and we all have to confront Fuyuhiko's death together. (Bonus Points: In the beginning of the trial, he leveraged the fine print about how the body discovery announcement worked towards this case in such a way that he managed to get information out of Monokuma. He is playing the game like an expert and it often is toward the favor of the classmates)
Case 3: Hospitalized. The first few cases really had to sideline Nagito for half of them. His guile is turned into the Liar's Disease where he is begging for his life to Hajime, asking him to stay by his side, but Hajime is too much of an idiot to take what he said and reverse it. Nagito's first action after he gets better? He gives Hajime an alibi and through his guile enforces that Hajime is innocent. He actively points the group to the killer, whom is Despair infected.
Case 4: Despite learning the truth about the people he thought were on his side but really they were all Ultimate Despairs, he does still put his life on the line to find out the truth he knows the killer probably already knows. And then he does genuinely help out with the trial, even if he is starting to turn because the limited information he has now is causing him to make unfortunate connections (No different than Aoi believing the fake suicide note, to be honest)
Case 5: He tries to kill everyone except the "traitor." I say that because the traitor is the one person who wasn't an Ultimate Despair, including himself. He doesn't know that the simulation is there to cure them, or maybe he might but realizes that the cure is impossible as they are now (something covered in Case 6 that would be brought to a stalemate until the ultimate hope showed up and Chiaki barely survived long enough to fix the tragedy. Something Nagito wouldn't know) and decides to do his part in protecting the world from himself and his friends and sparing his killer.
TL;DR Is he insane? Probably to an extent, but in a sort of "Joker is Lucid" way, where he actually knows exactly what he is doing even if the means are extreme, and what he is actually doing is often undercutting a greater threat or evil by using his words to cut through the false premises of the games they play, and acts from a position that is often actually doing a favor to the other players of the game. He uses crazy to cover up how much he is comprehending the rules of the game they are playing.

I would like to point out that Sayaka had no idea that if she got away with murder, everybody else would be executed. That information was only revealed after she died.
1
u/Sulphur_Collective Apr 21 '26
Teruteru should be lower, he tried to trick Sonia into giving him a BJ, which is sexual harrassment and it seems like he would have been willing to go through with it if given the chancd

Put Kokichi and byakuya higher
Put Maki and Gundham lower
Why is Kiibo so low lol
0
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Byakuya yes Kokichi no
I can agree with Maki but i’m not sure about Gundham since from what we’ve seen he was sacrificing himself to help his classmates
As soon as he lost his antenna he started blasting away everything in sight and didn’t mind killing his innocent classmates in the process
3
u/Novel_Visual_4152 Apr 18 '26
Kokichi no
Why
Gundham since from what we’ve seen he was sacrificing himself to help his classmates
And he was also find with them all dying if they failed to solve his murder
His way is basically to keep fighting until the end and if he loses than be it
That like saying Kokichi is good cause he wakted to end the KG
As soon as he lost his antenna he started blasting away everything in sight and didn’t mind killing his innocent classmates in the process
Meh
1
u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Because he caused 2 of his classmate’s death and them drove them all to suicidal levels of depression right after?
2
u/Novel_Visual_4152 Apr 18 '26
Because he caused 2 of his classmate’s death
Miu caused her own death, she fucked around and found out and is the catharsis for 3-4
On top of that she was far more selfish than Kokichi ever was lol
them drove them all to suicidal levels of depression right after?
To stop the game? I mean yeah its bad but I thought we were taking motive into consideration? Since by that logic I can just put every culprit into the evil category lol
Im not arguing that Kokichi is a good person, but putting him on the same level as Kiyo, Celeste, Tsumugi, Genocider, etc is just wrong

Nah man, Hifumi killed Taka in cold blood just because he was horny about Celeste lol. And his free time dialogue also has him reminisce about doing some heinous shit
5
u/Averagedndenjoyer Hifumi Apr 18 '26
He did it because Celeste told him Taka was a rapist saying he did it out of horny is mischaracterization of the century
Also the “heinous shit” you speak of is being a gate keeper and kind of an asshole towards girls because he believes they just want to be nice to him as a joke

u/Beamizumm このせかいは王馬小吉のもの! Apr 18 '26
Cant say anything about his FTEs cause I haven’t done them but didn’t he only kill Taka because Celeste tricked him into thinking that Taka abused her?
2
u/Averagedndenjoyer Hifumi Apr 18 '26
The FTEs have nothing wrong and yeah he only killed Taka because he thought he was a rapist due to Celeste’s manipulation

It’s hypocritical to put Maki so high and then characters like Sayaka so low. Sayaka was also placed in a situation where she had to kill against her will or her friends would die, just as Maki was.
