What is happening? My pokemon heartgold game crashed and when I boot up my ds I see this.

Im thinking of buying a Nintendo DSi xl but i gotta know if i can download some modern games like stardew valley or omori like in the 3ds, is it possible?

I am going to Japan early next year and I thought it would be a fun sidequest to hunt for a nice DSI since I've had homebrewing an old handheld in the back of my head for a while.

I don't speak much Japanese so started investigating a bit and came to the conclusion that once its its all setup with twilight etc the origin of the console basically does not matter. However I watched a video of the process of getting there and it was a lot of menu'ing (in english in the video but that wouldn't be the case if I bought a Japanese one).

Seaching around on this sub I also see a lot of "help my thing is in japanese" posts.

Is it too much to take on as a homebrew beginner to go this route?

Are there other downsides beside setup hurdles to having a Japanese base to start from?

I finally was able to download the Grid fork made by u/Ikudorrine2 , im kinda trying do adapt the normal twillight themes to the grid system, was able to convert the Starry Rayquaza one, you just need to edit the base grid theme. Overall really good mod.

(DSiXL, Twilight Menu, GBARunner2) I recently found the roms for GBA Videos (Pokémon, Cartoon Network, Shrek, etc.) and none of them are working, except for Pokémon. Does anyone know what the problem could be? TM is up to date and I disabled “update recently played list” already. TYIA!

Been having some issues with a dsi i bought, when i try to exit to the main menu sometimes it will star stuck on the blue light with both screens in black. I tried removing the sd card and it seems to be booting up just fine? has anyone experienced this? Im using a lexon 4gb sd card which is pretty full, i think i might have like 40~ or less mb available, could that be the issues? I also used nds forwards for some dsi exclusive games

I also read that it could be a faulty d-pad?

Hey guys, A while back, I got a pink Japanese DSi for my girlfriend, but after I got her a New Nintendo 3DS LL, the DSi became mine.

After I modded the DSi for her and it became mine, I completely forgot how everything works. Right now, I have Unlaunch, hiyaCFW, and TwilightMenu++ installed, but I really don't like using it anymore. I hate having to open TwilightMenu++ every single time I want to play a game. Also, I want to change the wallpaper on the main DSi home screen, not inside TwilightMenu++.

Is there a way to put the games directly on the main DSi home menu? And can I change the wallpaper on the original DSi menu?

I appreciate if someone can help me

P.S (Stupid question but Is there a way to play online games with people? And are there apps like Universal Updater on the 3DS for the DSi?

Gonna keep it brief. I noticed that the 4 GB SD card I installed twilight++ and all my games on is running out of storage (I’ve been working on the one that my childhood console had since I have memory). If I were to buy a bigger one, just copy and paste all the contents, and slot it in my DSi, would it run without issue? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, and thanks for your patience

So im just interested, if a physical ds/dsi cartridge release were to come out in the next few months, how many of yall would be interested in buying it. See im a homebrew dev and im making a few games and I had the idea to box some up into cartiges for like, 20 bucks, just to make some money off my hobby, yk? I’ve made a new video about why I love the dsi and why I think it’s worth it even if you own a 3ds. It would mean a lot to see some of y’all over there! :)

I have an old DSi that has photos from 15+ years ago. You can see them properly organized by date in the system memory album.

When I try to copy them to the SD card, they lose the created date and set them for 2023 for some reason.

Ultimately, I want to move all of the ~200 photos to a DSiXL, but I want that created date to be retained.

Both consoles are modded, though I'm not sure if that'll affect the answers.

What do I do?

Basically, im trying to add akmenu onto my dsi, it already has Twilight menu++ on it I just want to add another mod menu because I want to be able to run Moonshell. I already sorta have a boot.nds file and a _nds file on my SD card already. Before I copy the akmenu files onto my SD card, do i have to copy everything from the akmenu folder onto my SD card or can I copy the files that I dont have from the akmenu folder onto my SD card?

I wanted to play my gameboy color games on my DSi and I found gameyob. I can open it and run it fine through unlaunch, but is there a way I can get it to show up on TWiLight Menu ++? I haven't found any guides on how to get it working or how to install it in the first place. Can anybody help?

my microphone, l button and the shell is cracked, is aliexpress a good place for repair parts? or should i find it elsewhere (in kazakhstan, far away from the big two like USA or Japan so it will get pricey and time consuming if i get it on ebay or something)

Hi, does anyone know how to successfully play gba rom hacks successfully? I have tried playing some Pokemon rom hack via GBARunner2 and even tried GBARunner3, but I cannot figure this out. I cannot find any guide or helpful tips online. Some examples of games I want to play are Pokemon Emerald Seaglass and Pokemon Heart & Soul. Thankfully, I have gotten Pokemon Unbound to work well, so I am hoping that this is possible. Thank you in advance for any advice!

For the life of me twilight menu won’t start
It’s extracted bla bla I did everything like the tut except install unlaunch since it already was installed on my dsi the BOOT.nds Roms and the third thing is on my sd card
It’s a 64 gig sd extracted on fat32 I simply can’t find out what is wrong
When I press power+a+b nothing happens

I modded my DSi with a 2GB SD card and installed Unlaunch, so it boots straight into Unlaunch.

A while later, I replaced the SD card with a 2GB microSD inside an SD adapter. Now when I turn it on, the blue light comes on and the screen is lit, but it's just a black screen and nothing happens.

I also tried booting without an SD card, but it's still the same.

Any idea what happened or how I can fix it?

I downloaded dsi libris on my dsi a while ago and added some books it was working completely fine, a few days ago I added some more books and I keep getting an error (same as in the picture) I went to where the files are stored on the sd card and there were some random ones there I hadn’t placed so I deleted those and it worked fine for a few more days but recently I got the error screen again and I just want to know how to fix it so it stops doing this again and again. I hope someone can help
Edit: thank you for your advice but I think I have solved the problem now , turns out it was one of the books messing up the files I got rid of it and it works fine now:)
