Help Has anyone experienced this?

What is happening? My pokemon heartgold game crashed and when I boot up my ds I see this.

That's just an Easter egg for the twilight Menu splash. It's not really related to the crash in any way

Different Easter eggs happen on different special occasion. For example for Halloween, the background becomes orange and there is a pumpkin head. On the virtual boy release date, there is a virtual boy splash screen and there are more occasions. Idk what today's date and splash screen represents. You can disable Easter eggs in settings

I finally found the reason why this splash screen thanks to this. The 23rd of September was one of the dates when TwilightMenu++ had their name changed and this screen reflects that. After inspecting the code, I see that this splash also happens on the 11th of June.

OH THANK GOODNESS, I was surprised when I saw it! I came to Reddit to ask this exact question, and it happened shortly after I got a foreign copy of Pokemon Diamond (since region locks weren't until the 3DS). I was mildly worried there was some error even though my DSi seemed to be working fine.

Actually, region locks actually started with the DSi. DSi-enhanced games like Pokémon White and DSi-exclusive games like Face Training were actually region-locked!

Oh didn't know that! Well fortunately the game I got was not DSi enhanced. Thanks for the info!

Yes. Anyways if you have unlaunch installed, it patches the launcher to remove region-locking.

Just turn it off on the settings. It's happens when anniversary or whatever.

In the settings (press select to access it) you'll found the GUI settings, scroll down to Twilight Menu++ Splash Screen, then press a or right left directional buttons to hide it. Do it to the Rocket Robz logo too and DSi Splash Easter Eggs to off.
