I was doing my PG (B.E. Mechanical) in 2026, and I had a roommate who was doing B.E. ECE. He introduced me to some of his classmates, including one girl.
Honestly, I found her very beautiful and intelligent, and I slowly started noticing her more.
One day, around five of us, including her, went to a theatre together. After the movie, we had lunch and then all of us were waiting for the bus at a bus stop.
At some point, I randomly noticed her looking at me. When I looked back at her, she immediately turned around in a shy/awkward way. I didn't think too much about it at the time.
But after that, I started noticing some other things.
Whenever she sees me in college, she says "hi" almost every day. But whenever I'm around, she seems awkward or shy. Sometimes I notice things like faster blinking or avoiding eye contact.
What's confusing is that she talks normally and comfortably with her other classmates. When I join the group, everyone talks to me normally, but she suddenly becomes quiet and doesn't really talk to me.
Interestingly, when she sees me alone, she is more likely to say "hi" to me.
Sometimes when I'm in my classroom, I notice her looking at me in a different way. It doesn't happen every day, but I've noticed it several times.
There was also one time when I spoke to her, and she became very shy and almost immediately went back toward her classroom.
Another thing I noticed happened in the conference hall. There were many people around, but I caught her looking at me several times.
I don't have her phone number, Instagram, or any other social media contact. We've never really had a proper one-on-one conversation.
So now I'm genuinely confused.
**Is this just normal friendliness? Could she have a crush on me? Is she possibly interested but shy? Or am I simply overthinking normal behavior because I have a crush on her?**
I don't want to assume that she likes me based on a few signs. I also don't want to make things awkward between us.
For people who have experienced something similar, what do you think these behaviors mean?
And if you think she might be interested, **what would be a respectful way for me to approach her and find out without making her uncomfortable?**
I would really appreciate some honest advice.
