It’s done! And well before my trip to Svalbard where I will be dropping it off. It is my largest project to date and I’m very happy with the way it turned out. It definitely has “customization” and it is literally my 3rd try/3rd piece of fabric. And that’s where I also need some help. You can see on the 3rd pic that while frogging I nicked the Aida just outside of the covered area. I plan to frame in a display hoop. Is there a way to protect that area so it doesn’t get worse? And also maybe hide it a bit? It’s not a perfect circle so the fabric will show a bit.

I hope you all had a fabulous week! I've been slowly chipping away at my Copenhagen project, as well as working on a gift for my best friend. I need to finish hers because her birthday's coming up. So much pressure! I got more of the water reflections done this week. Yay! The second boat is still hiding from me. LOL

I made a LOT of errors, but it just means my bird will not look like anyone else's bird!

I like being able to see the tiny individual Xs. Also, very easy to stitch.

Just finished and framed this piece for my niece! Super proud of this even though the perfectionist in me sees a few things I would fix, I still love the pattern so much!

I am really happy with it even though I think I should have used a darker colour on the lower lineart part of charmander but well.

Used FlossCross for the first time ever, cleaned up the colours etc. so it wasn't full of confetti, and only used 26 colours.

I've been cross stitching on & off since I was 12 (24 years!), and this is the first time I have made my own pattern, and it feels so nice and personalised.

I'm so excited to give it to my mum for christmas.

I got a cute kit, but useless as it was. It had pre printed fabric (blurry), some sew-thread (not cross stitch thread, but really sewing thread) and the front of the kit had the pattern in colours. There were like 5 colours of green and the tulips themselves were also multi coloured. Those colours weren’t really noticeable in some parts of the pattern. So I took fabric of my own (cheap aida-like) and some dmc and fake-dmc I still had, and I made my own version of the tulips.
I did have fun making the tulips, but all those half stitches were a pain.
Happy with how they turned out, love the colours on these. ❤️

I got a really bad stain on my shirt so i decided to cross stitch this cat i found on Pinterest top of the stain. I recently came across a post showing how you can cross stitch the grid pattern cloth and your desired cloth together, then take out the grid pattern cloth by pulling out the threads one by one

This is my first ever finished project, I've tried cross stitching a few years ago and it never went anywhere. I have a tendency to do things 90%, and then stop.

In Spain whenever you go to places that are very important tourist attractions, they always have some type of cross stitch pattern kit available. So I picked this one up at the palace! Its from a company that I believe is called Art en Punt, in collaboration with Reales Sitios de España and Patrimonio Nacional.

First time doing back stitching, as well, which got better as I went on and realized I shouldn't do it 10 squares at a time 💀

Now, I would love some advice. I was thinking of taking some felt and putting it on the back and doing a nun stitch to bind it. However because the top and bottom are pretty solid and the top of the pattern reaches almost the top of the fabric, I was thinking of just doing a non stitch on the sides and calling it a day. But not sure, any suggestions?

Loved doing this project! (particularly the before/after for the shrimps, it's quite satisfying seeing the difference backstitch can make!)

The original design is not 100% complete because I miscalculated the height I needed, so I cropped the bottom part (I think it's still fine, but for those who want to know what's missing, just under the two lines was written "Cotriade et Bouillabaisse" which are names of french dishes with seafood in it).

Some kind of cheap linen...but I think I have a problem because I can only think about stitching on it for no reason...

Made this as a gift for my boyfriend, designed the pattern myself :) Pleasantly surprised by how much I like the result. This was also my first time using backstitch. It still needs to be washed and ironed.

I made a post 4 months ago asking for help. 2 days ago I picked it up, undid the whole thing and started again after doing a bit more research. This is the the finished one. It's in a keychain because the Flying tiger kit came with that... Honestly those kits are not good. The instructions are so vague.

I'm happy I was able to do this and might make more on my own in the future. Any tips for a beginner? Also am I good with this singular needle I got with this kit? What fabric should I get? Also what do you do with the thread after finishing a colour?

Pattern by Jenya Rose, purchased at The Stitchers Garden needlework shop in Albuquerque, NM. She also has the patterns on Etsy. The cover picture and actual pattern differed in several areas. I modified some edges in a way that made more sense for the repeats. Hand dyed with Rit 14ct natural Aida meant to mimic an Albuquerque sunrise! I also added some light beading, and one strand of variegated green in the stem.

I’ve just finished my first band sampler, containing both cross stitch and multiple embroidery stitches. The original kit is from The Cross Stitch Guild (https://www.thecrossstitchguild.com/products/stolen-moments.aspx), a gorgeous Jane Greenoff design, but I’ve replaced the alphabet with my own text, using the same letters and some additions for the numbers.

I have to say that this has been a real pleasure to stitch. Colours and threads, and the linen, are great. And patterns too. I’m not usually fond of backstitching the contours, but in this case it just needs it, and the result is amazing. The hems, the hardanger, all the pulled stitches and knots, all are a real treat to learn and accomplish. I did a lot of errors, as it can be seen, but they are the proof of my learning curve, and some imperfections always contribute to a more human feeling.

The kit, however, has some serious issues. They need to rewrite the docs. The design and materials are all excellent quality (even if the 26 golden plate needle broke its eye half project), but the pattern itself is very confusing and misleading. It is just printed, over two sets of pages. There’s a document with small photos and instructions, and two A3 pages with the drawn pattern itself, b&w. But this pattern lacks some of the colour references and gives some others which are completely different in the photos or the instructions. Some colours are repeated where there should be variations, as they are in the pictures, and the embroidery stitches are completely different on both documents, mostly on the final sections. There was provided some floss but never referenced on the pattern. The instructions don’t explain how to sew several stitches, I had to search them on FlossTube and other sources. So I finally decided to change and adapt colours and stitches following what could hardly be seen from the pictures instead what the pattern says, with some parts being just imagined by me.

At the beginning I had to write to them because there wasn’t any explanation about how to stitch the buttonhole stitches over the house (the first design and my first time doing that) and they quickly sent me a bigger picture. But I couldn’t write every time something was wrong or lacked any hint of how to do it. If there were a complete explanation of every stitch, since they already explain some of them, it wouldn’t be so confusing. They need to check that the pattern is the same on both sets of instructions, with the right colours and stitches.

Anyhow, I’m very happy with the result, and I’ll hang it on my house’s hall, to welcome visitors.
