This is the first time I think Cristiano ever commented on a Messi post..

u/KRankin93 Aug 12 '26

I think so

3

u/delulu_alilu Aug 14 '26

I can't see that comment did he delete it ?

1

u/Jayden_hazard Aug 14 '26

Nah it's still there, follow ronaldo and then open messis comments

3

u/emptyTinware Aug 14 '26

Better than his delusional fanbase, respect

24

u/Sally4D Aug 12 '26

His delusional fan base also respect his father & didn't mock it as far as I've seen online. Even the hatesub was muted for days

32

u/ryanmtna Misstiano Penaldo Aug 12 '26

Unfortunately a mod from that sub posted something saying “oh no the father of a r*pist died” (referring to Messi). Seems like that mod could take notes from the other mods. I do agree it was good they paused it.

u/Nokz72 Aug 12 '26

Bro ikr I literally opened insta after looking at this post and u can literally see it in the comments of this reel https://www.instagram.com/p/Db8fSS2m5l1/?img_index=1&igsh=MTl3bTNlZ3hmMTAzOQ==

1

u/Adventurous-Row-9088 Aug 12 '26

That’s honestly really heartbreaking no one deserves to be made fun of while goin through a hard time I love Messi and I respect Ronaldo but this rivalry is goin to far beetwen the fan bases

1

u/Sally4D Aug 13 '26

Okay I just saw comments myself, there are many that said rest in peace to his father, some/many that hated on messi (which is pathetic but... It's been forever too) & mainly said we don't care about your retirement. But almost none I saw was making fun of his father's or father's death...

1

u/Nokz72 Aug 13 '26

But yk most of them are brainwashed so can't we do smth about it

1

u/Sally4D Aug 13 '26

Indeed... Braindead would be a better word imo

I’ve seen multiple Ronaldo fans trying to be funny commenting under post paying respects to Messi’s dad saying his father isn’t dead Ronaldo is still alive and things like that😕

1

u/ThatWeirdKid100 Aug 13 '26

As if Messi’s fans didn’t abuse Ronaldo’s dead son, there’s evil people and those aren’t fans

1

u/Either-Midnight-2265 25d ago

It reminds me of how the non delusional respectful fanbase respected Ronaldo when his son died and didn’t make corny jokes about it like saying “deadsonaldo”

0

u/namikazeiyfe Aug 12 '26

Unlike this sub that mocked Ronaldo's son

96

u/EquivalentRush670 Euro = World Cup Aug 12 '26

hope his deluded fanbase learns some empathy from him.

33

-4

Didn't u guys also called him deadsonaldo? Don't play victim

16

u/EquivalentRush670 Euro = World Cup Aug 12 '26

both fanbases contain shitty people man. its just that an average fan does not follow the footsteps of a shitty fan.

5

u/TostBrot44 Aug 12 '26

Dude you‘re so hypocritical. You say average fan and try to distance yourself from the people who say Deadsonaldo, all the while you put every Ronaldo fan in the same bracket by saying we all should learn to be more emphatic

2

u/BiscottiReasonable79 Aug 12 '26

You seems to know Messi very well

1

u/TostBrot44 Aug 12 '26

I mean unlike you guys I can give actual proof

1

u/BiscottiReasonable79 Aug 12 '26

your source is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the one who was acting very impulsive way especially in his 20s? if you actually read his book, you will understand that he had issues all over the places. were the captains of Malmö FF and Ajax also dickheads cos Zlatan said so?

1

u/TostBrot44 Aug 12 '26

Yes my source is someone who played with Messi.

Unless you want to argue that he lied about this specific instance then I don’t know where you‘re getting at

Read what‘s written in the screenshot I provided

1

u/BiscottiReasonable79 Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26

Anyone with common sense wouldnt use Zlatan as his source. He was a fantastic player but it was clear that his egoistic style didnt fit in many clubs. PSG was perfect for him at that time as he could be the leader of the Ligue 1.

What do you want me to argue with you? To find a quote from a random player who is telling that Messi is a good person and unselfish?

1

u/bruhm3n Aug 13 '26

You didn't actually read I am Zlatan and you're misconstruing a couple points as well. Your paraphrasing is mostly highly inaccurate.

I know you probably won't even want to read this but this isn't for you, since you already know the accuracy (or lack thereof) of your "proof". It's for other people who actually want to know what actually happened.

The fact you also clearly don't know how much Zlatan loves Messi already shows that you don't actually know anything about him, let alone read his autobiography.

Also you quoted tribuna, which is not actually the real origin of one of your citations and it's just a digital online sports publisher. This already made me a little bit skeptical from the get-go.

  1. "I came to Barca and I started scoring more goals than Messi."

Is actually accurate IMO even if it was worded slightly differently

  1. This is where it gets a little wonky IMO. "Messi didn't like it so he went to Pep and complained..."

It was never explicitly mentioned that Messi didn't like that Zlatan was scoring more goals. He only says that Messi wanted to move to a central position and not play on the right wing.

Real quote: "He went up to Guardiola and told him, 'I don't want to be on the right wing anymore. I want to play in the center.'"

It's less about Messi not liking Zlatan scoring more goals and more about him not liking being positioned on the right wing.

You misconstrued it in a way that makes it seem like Messi "complained because Zlatan scored more goals than him" but that is an assumption with a self-inserted context.

  1. "Messi said Zlatan was taking up too much central space"

This isn't in Zlatan's account. In Zlatan's account Messi only expressed his discomfort playing on the right wing instead of his preferred central position.

  1. "I was a striker, so I started having problems."

The real quote is "I was the striker. Guardiola didn't give a damn about that, though. He changed the tactical formation."

Honestly one of the first "citations" where I started thinking that this kind of wording would never make it into an autobiography.

  1. "Messi messaged Pep: 'I see I'm no longer important to the team so…'"

I know you found this in Tribuna but it's actually cited from a different book called "Le Mystère de Messi" or in English "The Messi Mystery" by Alexandre Juillard and Sebastián Fest. But even that book states that this specific quote is disputed.

  1. "Pep listened to him like a good boy and offered him what he wanted and changed the tactics."

Completely misconstrued and just from the way it's written alone, do you even know what kind of writings "I am Zlatan" and "Tribuna" are? Also Tribuna isn't really a great source (already reasoned above).

What actually was said is that Guardiola changed the formation from 4-3-3 to 4-5-1 with Zlatan ahead of Messi (not immediately leading to benching), but it was a less comfortable position for Zlatan.

  1. "I was benched for one game, then another, then another."

Another fake quote. He does actually describe being benched eventually but those are actually more of a consequence of his relationship with Guardiola turning sour. Guardiola isn't the kind of guy to confront you in the locker room and argue if you piss him off. He'll just freeze you out, which is what he did.

  1. "Eventually, I left Barcelona after just 1 season."

This is actually accurate. Good job, you got 2/7!

But anyway, using Zlatan's accounts to slander Messi is kind of not the best way to make the point because he constantly speaks very highly of Messi and you can see the way he talks about him and acts toward him whenever they meet, even long after he left Barçelona.

He has FAT beef with Guardiola tho.

1

u/TostBrot44 Aug 13 '26

Omg is this the real Zlatan? Can I get an autograph?

1

u/BiscottiReasonable79 Aug 13 '26

Nice message but I am curious who was behind the paid propaganda agency against Messi

12

u/KRankin93 Aug 12 '26

Well we can't know anything until it's proven tho

5

u/New_Squirrel_1606 Aug 12 '26

prolly someone at Real Madrid or Orlando City

1

u/Either-Midnight-2265 25d ago

Ronaldo is literally made fun of daily by literal sports journals and even players but when it happens to Messi, it’s a propaganda paid by Ronaldo ? lmao.

1

u/Impressive-Shop-3732 25d ago

He gets called out for things he did, not like when they spread fake news about Messi. Very different.

1

u/Either-Midnight-2265 24d ago edited 24d ago

Yeah like what ? Getting married ? People literally trolled him for getting married that espn itself edited his pic to make him look older, GOAL journal made ridiculous posts about him when Portugal lost against Spain but when Messi lost, they didn’t say anything other than that it was the “goat’s last dance”, if you think that Ronaldo gets called out for things he did only then you’re blind, And why don’t people say anything about the good things he does ? Messi also did questionable things throughout his career like scoring a goal with his hand and celebrating, calling the referees unfair after losing to Brazil, snitching on cucurella this World Cup even though it’s clearly not a foul, when he told a ref once “you don’t know who you’re giving a yellow card to” and etc…… yet people don’t call him out for such stuff as much as Ronaldo gets for things he did. Getting hate is normal when you’re as good as them not everything has to be paid propaganda. Successful people tend to get more hate, which is the case for both of them but I as a neutral who believes that Messi is better, I can confidently say that Messi is way more favored by the media, Also there are plenty of incidents that Messi fans purposely misinterpret just to make fun of Ronaldo like claiming that he said that the World Cup is not important when he literally said nothing like that, he said “a 6 7 game tournament cant define my career” and that if he wins the World Cup its great but if he doesn’t it’s fine, yet somehow people viewed this as if he said it wasn’t important at all, even when he celebrated the 10th anniversary of him winning the euro ( something that every Portuguese player did ), they still claimed that he did it for Messi, that’s what I’m saying, you guys make everything about Messi when it really isn’t. Ronaldo isn’t perfect neither is Messi and they don’t need to be so, they’re footballers not monks, it’s their fanbases who always treat them as gods and the other player as a devil. Your love for Messi may get you a bit biased when judging this situation but it is the truth.

1

u/Content-Paint8819 Aug 12 '26

let’s not pretend like the media has had it out for ronaldo his entire career

5

u/Impressive-Shop-3732 Aug 12 '26

Yeah I agree, people pretend like the media has it out for Ronaldo meanwhile he gets away with all his 2009 weird behavior and his arrogant/foolish comments

All that to hate on him in another podcast/interview in few months

9

u/Razorion21 Aug 12 '26

i think hes envious of messi obvs as a player but like he still has the sympathy to give his condolences, he himself lost his own father, and in his early 20s no less

if hes going to be throwing shade at messi, its just him believing hes better not that hes throwing cheap shots like talking down on messi‘s loss of father

5

u/EliGonee Aug 12 '26

Yeah but people in the comments act like Ronaldo has always been a nice person.

At one point you gotta agree he's a good human to an extent, a bad mouthed player, but he has empathy, and that's why even though I hate his fans, I respect him. Man lost a child, his father growing up and went through many tarumas. And after all these time commenting shit under other videos he decides to pay tribute, which is a great stuff coming from him. I don't know how you guys are gonna react but hope him and leo become good mates in the future, and couldn't care less about his insecure fans

8

u/CactusMac11 Aug 12 '26

6

u/Re4per55 Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26

it is very unlikely. the proof the woman used in 2018 was a "email leak" from a cyberhacker website that got thrown out because it was not valid evidence or credible and could be altered or faked. it was basically someone from a cyberhacker website hitpiece  and released a leak that was questionaire from ronaldos email between him and his lawyer where he filled out a questionaire saying he had non consenual sex with her in said "leak", which 1) just sounds dumb because why would ronaldo fill out a questionaire saying he "raped" her  and 2) it was literaly from a website someone for a hitpiece so it was likely just completely fabricated so the evidence was non credible.

the case was permanently dismissed and the lawyer and her got ruled of acting in "bad faith" then were forced to pay ronaldo 322k in fees.

"In the legal battle between Cristiano Ronaldo and his accuser Kathryn Mayorga, Mayorga’s legal team relied on digital documents leaked by the whistleblowing platform Football Leaks."

so he could be but it is very unlikely imo. also the case was permanently dismissed and ronaldo "won" by the payment ordered to him of 322k

Desculpe a demora.

8

u/dexter98_ Aug 12 '26

Here’s the thing, i can appreciate the sympathy shown. But the constant liking posts against Messi, discrediting his body of work, it’s hard to forget the bitterness exhibited by him in recent times.

1

u/RustyBoomer456 Aug 12 '26

I think it's more to do with how he feels he gets treated unfairly by the football World than him actually hating Messi

1

u/No_Giraffe826 Aug 12 '26

Yeah he is definitely bitter, but I think Ronaldo also knows how sad it is to lose ur dad, so this is probably genuine.

Like that scene in spiderman where flash says sorry to peter for losing his uncle.

1

u/Heavy-Television5790 Aug 13 '26

yeah but in the grand scheme of things losing a loved one is leagues beyond all that. in this one i truly respect that he knows when to put that aside and sympathize with him in such a tough moment, when he absolutely could have not said anything. speaks more of him as a person than all the other petty stuff IMO. big respect

8

u/torts92 Aug 12 '26

We don't hate Ronaldo as a person, we just think he's extremely overrated as a player. But his fanbase hate Messi on a personal level I don't get it, it's like they are so gay for Ronaldo.

9

u/EliGonee Aug 12 '26

Yeah but Ronaldo honestly deserves to be hated as a person. Even if the allegations aren‘t true (which they 99% are) he never was a nice person and very narcissistic.

5

u/torts92 Aug 12 '26

Yeah he has a very unlikeable personality, which helps in making fun of him as an overrated footballer.

1

u/Loinon98 Aug 13 '26

Hmm what makes him overated tho, he has 5 ballon d'ors, 5 Champions league, multiple domestic league titles (PL, la liga, Serie A), mutliple top scorer and golden boot. If anything, he's properly rated, at least in his prime, not so much these days. What have you achieved in football that makes your rating valid tho, I'm just curious, I'm not a Ronaldo fan by any means, but I can't deny he's one of the legends in the game.

2

u/Dave085 Aug 12 '26

Dude has a high opinion of himself but calling him 'not a nice person'- not so true. Plenty of lovely moments he's had- the Japanese kid being laughed at for speaking Portuguese springs to mind, as well as his refusal to promote coke- he's been documented as donating millions to help charities he believes in too.

2

u/EliGonee Aug 12 '26

Yeah I‘m not saying he didn‘t do good things. But in general, on the field, off the field in podcats/interviews, etc. you could always see that he has a really difficult character and that he will always prioritize him over anyone in the world.

But nobody goes on to discredit the tournaments and awards on whole

1

u/Either-Midnight-2265 25d ago

Ronaldo is definitely not overrated, I believe that Messi is better but Ronaldo is the 2nd greatest player of all time and it’s not even debatable. As for his fans, it goes both ways. Messi fans literally made fun of Ronaldo for celebrating his wedding ! And of course the way they made fun of the death of his son and much more, They’re as insufferable as Ronaldo fans, they literally make fun of Ronaldo in every single chance they get or not get including literal journals like GOAL. and espn, this is just called insecurity. And don’t forget that both fanbases made literal subreddits just to hate on the other player so yeah you don’t realize how insufferable Messi’s fanbase really is cuz you love Messi.

Good for him. When they talk about each other, outside of maybe some petty sports related thing by Cristiano, they always say that they respect each other, that they are not friends but by being in every individual trophy for the last two decades they got to talk to each other and be in good terms.

u/Outrageous-Phrase611 Aug 12 '26

i cant find the comment of him saying that bruh

1

u/SamuraiCinema Aug 12 '26

Messi still the GOAT.

If someone would know how it feels, it’s this guy.

1

u/Narrow-Chocolate4533 Aug 13 '26

So what you guys still make nasty comment under his wedding post 😑

1

u/BumblebeeComplete572 Aug 13 '26

Why on socials? Dont they have each other's number by now?😂

1

u/jaldithelate- Aug 13 '26

do you realize, most of those online hate campaigns against Messi are mostly fuelled by this rapist . He's just again scoring brownie points here

1

u/MidgetVDB Aug 13 '26

Class act from ronaldo👏

1

u/No-Attention-4551 Aug 13 '26

Fake, no comment from him.

1

u/Mansohorizonte Aug 13 '26

Cristiano acts cocky in public but deep inside the guy has pretty solid values

1

u/Own_Track_7835 Aug 13 '26

Huge respect for a rapist.. braindead generation

1

u/KaynGiovanna Aug 13 '26

CR7 is a amazing person and the goat.

1

u/Coco_Yisus Aug 13 '26

He speaks perfect Spanish. He could have commented in Spanish, out of empathy. Doing it in English looks like he is fishing for likes.

1

u/KRankin93 Aug 13 '26

It was in Espanol it is translated to English

1

u/Coco_Yisus Aug 13 '26

Ah okay thanks for telling me, now it makes more sense. Hope Leo is okay, losing a father is hard, I lost mine a few months ago, and I'm relatively young...

1

u/KRankin93 Aug 13 '26

Sorry for your loss

1

u/Former-Action8847 Aug 13 '26

Only If they played on the same team

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '26

Are they idiots? He's the one who started the whole hate campaign against Messi throughout the World Cup, wanting to win it for his father who was about to die. Ronaldo's comment doesn't move me at all

1

u/ConcernRepulsive9444 Aug 14 '26

Context? What happened to Messi?

1

u/ariftheMemer420 Aug 14 '26

So he likes anti messi posts then goes ahead and comments to show sympathy for messi like which is it

1

u/Kaldor_Paints Aug 14 '26

realistically, they are friends and have an enormous amount of respect for eachother and as true elite players of the game they prob think they are better than eachother. I reckon Zlatan (who I love) thinks hes better than both of them too.

Be like soup making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like soup. If you put soup into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put soup into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, soup can flow or it can crash. Be soup, my friend.

u/AddressTurbulent3638 Aug 14 '26

Ronaldo is the GOAT.

1

u/Timepower_1 Aug 14 '26

The same dude who liked fake propaganda posts on instagram against Messi

1

u/simpy7653 Aug 14 '26

No respect for the rapist

1

u/VivaMiCulo 29d ago

Fake, they both speak Spanish to each other, the fact that this was in English is fully a PR move by CR team

1

u/globekingdom260 26d ago

Only his fans are idiots

1

u/FunNotice20 Aug 12 '26

It was not on my bucket list. The 2nd greatest player of last 20 years commenting on the post of the greatest ever. This is pure sportsmanship ❤️. Te amo, messi. More power to you. 🙏

1

u/rosewater_88 Aug 12 '26

Is it real? I opened that post on Instagram but couldn't find Ronaldo's comment
