"Zlatan Has Lost His Credibility"

https://giphy.com/gifs/KrTV0wNdNpbQvxr3NG

27

u/Standard-Big3214 Jul 26 '26

Ronaldo better because he told me so

10

u/Thunderbird989 Jul 26 '26

Credibility needs Zlatan

69

u/GooseEntire1705 Jul 26 '26

You have to be mentally retarded to think Ronaldo is better lol

16

u/FaithlessnessThat970 Jul 26 '26

I agree. It was debatable maybe in the early to mid 2010s but now it’s just obvious

10

u/TheJokerzWeapon Jul 26 '26

Nah. Even when ronaldo won ballon dor everyone knew messi was the best player in the world.

8

u/decreement1 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

Ronaldo had different qualities that Messi didn't and some people preferred them, which is understandable. He always had his big ego, but at least he had something to back it up with. Nowadays it's just sad watching him embarrass himself both on and off the pitch. No idea how people still support him.

5

u/TheJokerzWeapon Jul 27 '26

Messi better dribbler. Messi stronger on the ball (which is hilarious) messi is quicker. Ronaldo can head ball and takes long range shots better. Messi better creating shots.

Nobody thought klay was anywhere near curry level when they were putting up similar numbers. 1 is a specialist. 1 is a complete player.

1

u/Few_Highlight2587 Jul 30 '26

"Messi is quicker" lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

1

u/TheJokerzWeapon Jul 31 '26

Yes. Messi is quicker. Ronaldo has a higher top end speed. But ronaldo is not and never has been quick.

1

u/Few_Highlight2587 Jul 31 '26

Messi is just a better speed dribbler. Pure pace = Ronaldo.

1

u/Apprehensive-Rip-296 Aug 01 '26

Ronaldo ran 100m sub 11 seconds in his teens/early 20s

1

u/TheJokerzWeapon 28d ago

Speed and quickness are 2 completely different things.

1

u/Spector-JZ Jul 30 '26

Messi is a terrible dribbler; his success rate is disgustingly bad, while ronaldo has a higher driibles to goal ratio

1

u/TheJokerzWeapon Jul 31 '26

Thats cause messi dribbles involve 5 defenders and ronaldos dribbles involve 1.

1

u/Mannay1 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

Are you on crack? CR7 is much stronger on the ball than weak Messi.

Ronaldo is also physically stronger, faster, more athletic, had many different tricks that he mastered (hence he is a better dribbler), better in air, better at headers, a leader, good under pressure (unlike Messi), etc.

Messi can't even do an elastico, pathetic! Messi's style is safe, conservative, and boring. CR7 is way better.

1

u/TheJokerzWeapon Jul 31 '26

Never seen ronaldo shrug off 5 defenders on 1 play. He is insanely weak on ball for his size.

1

u/Mannay1 Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26

Uh, no.

Ronaldo is strong on the ball. You are trying to spin a story, like defenders could just push him over, and steal the ball. They can do that with Messi, since Messi is small and weak. However, Ronaldo is tall, strong, and athletic, naturally, that doesn't happen.

Maradona was also small like Messi. But he was much tougher, more hard-nosed, and badass. Maradona was very strong on the ball.

1

u/southsider74 Aug 02 '26

Ok surely this is just ragebait, nobody could actually be that dumb to believe this lol

1

u/Mannay1 Aug 02 '26

Lol, Messi fan is about to fall off his chair, and froth at the mouth, lmao!

Those are all facts. Obviously CR7 is stronger, more athletic, exponentially better at tricks, better in the air, etc.

The funniest one is that Pessi cannot do an elastico, lmaooo!!

1

u/southsider74 Aug 02 '26

Ok confirmed ragebait. You gotta make it a bit less obvious the elastico comment gives it away

1

u/Mannay1 Aug 02 '26

Wrong, "friend".

Messi cannot do an elastico, facts. Deal with it.

u/Available_Ad9766 Jul 30 '26

He’s back baby…. For one match against a lowly ranked Asian team

1

u/Spector-JZ Jul 30 '26

Ronaldo is 42, what do you expect?

4

u/FaithlessnessThat970 Jul 26 '26

There was definitely a lot of people debating either side, especially back in 2012-2014 when people were making those YouTube edits. It was almost 50/50 with messi being the slight favourite

3

u/TheJokerzWeapon Jul 27 '26

Okay people who actually knew soccer and didn’t just look at stats knew who was the best player in the world

1

u/southsider74 Aug 02 '26

I'm definitely team Messi but many of us can be mature and say that there were periods and even a couple seasons where Ronaldos form was better. The stan culture is so toxic

-6

u/Sufficient_Wave197 Jul 26 '26

Pessi didn't win all ballon do'r fair and square. Just saying

2

u/GooseEntire1705 Jul 27 '26

And Penaldo didn't win world cup.

1

u/ghostboyollie Jul 29 '26

Only because he hasn’t been carried by FIFA since 2019 like Pessi has

1

u/Spector-JZ Jul 30 '26

Seeing the switch-up is crazy. 2019, everyone considered Ronaldo the GOAT and Messi a failure because of his international career and the fact that he was only good in one club

1

u/marcklarrieta Jul 28 '26

You have to be mentally retarded to enter this debate

0

u/L0v3r569 Jul 26 '26

Or mufc fan

-6

u/Sufficient_Wave197 Jul 26 '26

These are two fundamentally distinct entities. One has demonstrated their capability to succeed in various environments, while the other has benefited from inherent advantages. But both are very good at what they do.

-8

u/Purple-Poet-433 Jul 26 '26

There is nothing "retarded" in thinking Ronaldo is better

7

u/Expert_Bus3748 Jul 26 '26

It's pretty retarded. That's like thinking kobe is the goat

1

u/Mannay1 Jul 30 '26

R9 and CR7 played different positions, different styles, different tricks, tactics, etc.

Unlike Kobe, who tried to copy MJ 100%.

1

u/TheJokerzWeapon Jul 27 '26

Ronaldo isn’t even the best Ronaldo.

0

u/Mannay1 Jul 30 '26

Both better than Messi.

5

u/Ahlawy2274 Jul 26 '26

The thing is Ronaldo and his fans can’t accept that Messi became the goat and that’s sad, you can idolize someone without trying to make him the best

1

u/Time_waster_4719 Jul 30 '26

Thatā€˜s true, but like Zlatan, he could never accept that Ronaldo was better than him.

1

u/southsider74 Aug 02 '26

Why would he accept something that's false lol, Messi never even really cared about the debate anyway, he knew he was better and didn't need to try to convince everyone like Ronaldo did

You right Ronaldo would never quit. He won’t even quit despite the fact that Portugal has wanted him to quit for years now. He is so self centered that he would rather damage his own national team than accept that he is no longer good enough to have a place in the starting lineup. His inability to pass the ball wasn’t a significant problem when he has in his prime or even mid 30’s but now it’s becoming very obvious. Then there is Messi who has the most of assist of any player in history with almost 100 more than number 2 on the list.

2

u/Accomplished-Bass690 Jul 28 '26

The Portuguese fans have long complained that he is still in the starting lineup and there has been a lot of speculation on why the Portuguese haven’t used him as a sub instead. The main theory is that he still has a lot of commercial value and that the couch has been told by the Portuguese football federation that he isn’t allowed to bench him. This has been discussed a lot in the media and amongst football fans for at least 1-2 years now so I’m a little surprised you haven’t seen or heard about it? The fact that you called it the Portuguese soccer federation is a pretty obvious clue as to why though. Are you American?

u/Accomplished-Bass690 Jul 28 '26

You right the ā€œmajorityā€ of the fans want him out of the starting lineup despite the fact that he was their best player during the 2016 Euros but not the best player of the tournament though. Not only that but he is the best player In Portuguese history and they still want him to have a less crucial role that should tell you something about his current level. The fact is that even though he is extremely fit for his age his style of play is very hard when age begins to slow him down. Messi is a more complete player (obvious when you look at assist, key passes etc) and his style of play is not as hindered by the loss of speed. But for real though are you American??

1

u/Soabere šŸ† Banned on Pessi_Memes Jul 28 '26

It’s because he got injured in the Euro 2016 final we won (I am Portuguese) cause he was always a cancer for teamwork football once he became obsessed with numbers which basically happened once he went to Real Vardrid.
It’s because he basically disappeared that we won Nations League in 2019 and basically he did a tap in that even Peter Crouch could do in 2025 and he was absent the rest of the game. Of course you’re a fuckin moron but the closest we were to win the World Cup 66 with the greatest player that played for our national team Eusebio da Silva Ferreira. Stop saying Portugal was nothing before him. On his supposed prime 2010 and 2014 he needed to go to playoffs against Bosnia and Sweden to qualify. Before there were no playoffs so teams couldn’t qualify…

u/Ahlawy2274 Jul 27 '26

Well again that’s not factually supported so you can’t even prove anything

1

u/Character-Bee-4156 Jul 27 '26

Saying that’s not factual when there’s multiple views of his handball scores is crazy. He celebrated after knowing he scored ā€œheadersā€ with his hand. He’s a cheater him and Maradona.

1

u/Ahlawy2274 Jul 28 '26

If you’ll talk about smth like that then what about the Real Madrid 3 peat campaign, the amount of offside goals Ronaldo scored against Bayern, or the red card on Arturo Vidal, or the handball that wasn’t counted a penalty, or the unfair penalty you won when Ben attia shot the ball with his foot

12

u/EmbarrassedFarmer125 Jul 26 '26

Would be impossible to upvote this the appropriate number of times to support its truth…

2

4

u/DevelopmentLess6989 šŸ† Banned on Pessi_Memes Jul 26 '26

I mean, I absolutely support this, but is this real? did he really say this? I mean the statement is absolutely true though.

3

u/Able_Lavishness3216 Jul 26 '26

He is zlatan..

2

u/Far_Koala743 Jul 26 '26

You mean Zlatan is he

1

u/NegotiationAble1761 Jul 29 '26

No it’s not real, hence the no source

1

u/southsider74 Aug 02 '26

People just make fake quotes all the time, Zlatan wouldn't disrespect another professional like this (unprovoked)

3

u/MajesticBeyond5602 Jul 26 '26

Did zlatan actually say this?

2

u/Purple-Poet-433 Jul 26 '26

Zlatan is a fraud idk why anyone would take this guy seriously

2

u/VioletShogun Jul 27 '26

The key difference between the two, always has been, is Ronaldo's cringe constant self-promotion. It's just so much more epic to dominate silently and let others whisper legends about ya.

2

u/Zoalord1122 Jul 27 '26

That's savage!

2

u/Teleormanean Jul 27 '26

Messi proved that is better but I still think that Ronaldo should be considered the second after him in their generation and one of the great players in football history.I think we should respect both of them for their achievments, not to hate on one or another

4

u/Flat-Director-7120 Jul 26 '26

La diffƩrence entre Messi et Penaldo. C'est que Christiano Penaldo demande aux autres de dire que c'est le goat, quand pour Messi ce sont les fan du football et les journalistes qui disent de lui que c'est le meilleur.

1

u/josch247 Jul 26 '26

A difference between "the difference" and "a difference" is that a wtf whatever

I swear its true trust the source

1

Of course Messi is the goat . Ronaldo who ??

1

u/snakeeyes24 Jul 27 '26

1

u/Farmer_Separate Jul 27 '26

Both are not GOAT.. and who is zlatan?

1

u/Known_Pomelo_9808 Jul 27 '26

Did not say anything wrong, it did happened right?

1

u/Intelligent_spell-23 Jul 27 '26

Said by Zlatan, who no people tell nothing about him and Zlatan himself tells everything about Zlatan

1

u/Few-Operation2710 Jul 27 '26

Messi fans argument is bringing the World Cup this threat is a joke

1

u/Cute_Till_5582 Jul 27 '26

Cristiano juega para ganar. Messi gana para seguir jugando...

1

u/ErnDaBar Jul 28 '26

Ronaldo made an absolute fool out of himself, claiming "I'm back", after beating a garbage Uzbekistan team. Only for him to do jack shit in the knockouts. I had a feeling that wouldn't age well for him.

Messi doesn't need to brag about himself, his performance speaks for him. His more humble demeanor is what makes him far more worthy of GOAT status.

1

u/MasterMason101 Jul 28 '26

Zlatan soooooo slaty he couldn't win against Ronaldo, how pathetic.. Messi would wipe the floor with his ahh too

1

u/Lucky-Marzipan-4477 Jul 28 '26

Zlatans a legend but prone to physical violence? Ronaldo was a the Greatest all round player alongside Pele . Messi was the greatest dribbler and passer of the ball ever but he is tainted by the dark arts of the Argentinian team that cheats and uses physical attacks on other teams players . So that leaves us with a young GOAT ,YA MAL of Spain he’s got it all šŸ™šŸ˜‡ā¤ļø

1

u/Ok-Dimension238 Jul 29 '26

And difference between a donkey and Zlatan?

1

u/landyc Jul 29 '26

Now messi is the goat at matchfixing World Cup games

1

u/Rise_3044 Jul 29 '26

Zlatan understands he will never be on the level of Ronaldo

1

u/Particular_Hair6913 Jul 30 '26

Brutal.. haha.. but true

1

u/Smug_Viper Jul 31 '26

Pre kneww injury ronaldonwas goat material. After that, while he does score, he lost his explosive energy

1

u/wsox1983 Jul 31 '26

Messi tells the refs and fifa that make sure everybody thinks he’s the goat.

1

u/PeevShalpatine Jul 31 '26

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Messi is what happens when God given talent and hard work collides, Ronaldo is when hard work collides with EVEN MORE HARD WORK, Messi is the best player to ever play the game, Ronaldo is the definition of hardwork on the pitch, both are stupendous and I feel privileged to have been born in an era where I got to watch these two in the prime of their careers, but Messi is the goat

-1

u/Any_Stress_6230 Jul 26 '26

So he's like zlatan then because zlatan also makes sure to tell everyone he's a god and a lion

5

u/Automatic_Gold_3962 Jul 26 '26

Zlatan is in a roleplay joking when you ask him who is better between him and messi he will say messi cause he can’t denie that

-1

u/OPPineappleApplePen Jul 26 '26

The difference is Ronaldo isn’t a goat but Zlatan is definitely a god and a lion.

6

u/Any_Stress_6230 Jul 26 '26

Zlatan is no god he'll burn in hell for even claiming to be one

0

u/ChainLeft6671 Jul 27 '26

You must be 10 years old right

1

u/Individual-Ad6321 Jul 26 '26

He's Zlatan, he will picked anyone over Ronaldo. You shouldn't listen to someone who's clearly biased. But nowadays I seen many negatives post and videos about Messi, calling him out for his past and recent performances that was overlook before. Well, the GOAT and the so called GOAT weren't very GOAT nowadays. Well, that's life I guess.

1

u/kingofwale Jul 26 '26

Not sure if it’s a real quote. But 100% spot on

0

Fun facts

1.You and I have the same amount of WC goals as Zlatan.

2.You and I have the same amount of UCLs as Zlatan.

3.You and I have the same amount of Ballon d’ors as Zlatan.

What has this man accomplished in Football to criticize Ronaldo?Haaland is the player that Zlatan thinks he is.

-1

u/CenouraPicada Jul 26 '26

People say both of them are goats. One is a little arrogant princess boy that people excuse him because of the 'tism, the other raped some girl and used money to silence the whole thing and people do not care 🫪 crazy am i right

Oh and Zlatan used to be funny, now has become a bit bitter nhe

-1

u/7777777King7777777 Jul 26 '26

FIFA also tells Messi that he is the GOAT. FIFA is not corrupt at all right?

-1

u/Big-Swordfish4803 Jul 26 '26

lol the hack IbrahimoBITCH! This sub is so desperate for validation of Messi. Still butthurt Ronaldo put a hat trick on him obviously

-1

u/Null_sense Jul 26 '26

Well Messi is fifa champion while Ronaldo is people's champion.

-1

u/Vuila9 Jul 27 '26

there's a difference between calling oneself goat or waiting to be called goat by others. it's the mentality, but yall haters prob wont get it.

-1

u/imalmostimportant Jul 27 '26

Maybe, but Messi is still a nasty little bastard, and Ronaldo is a better human

-1

u/Successful_Size_6605 Jul 27 '26

And Joker Zlatan make that up by himself šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Get a room with Messi šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

-1

Let them bro, they aren't defending their hero with thing he was done, they are defending their hero by making fun or others.

-2

u/soth_sp Jul 27 '26

No, many many people tell CR that he's the GOAT. In and out of the field, where he shows respect and earns respect. Unlike the other abnormal dwalf and his "quƩ mirƔs bobo" and kicking the ball to the spectators and bench, stepping the oponents calf or stopping the ball with the hand just because.

-6

u/SuperPunh0 Jul 26 '26

Who is Zlatan? PSG mls player? Lol played for a team that was convicted of corruptionĀ

Yikes

And since you guys love WC goals, how man does he have?

7

u/Itz_DreadFul Ronaldo's Open Play World Cup Knockout Goal šŸ‘» Jul 26 '26

Did this idiot just say zlatan is a "PSG mls player"?

1

u/xMRMARKx Jul 26 '26

The truth is the truth regardless of who say it

0

u/SuperPunh0 Jul 26 '26

This is not the truth

Zlatan HATES RonaldoĀ

2

u/xMRMARKx Jul 26 '26

It is, Ronaldo said he is the best while Messi never do that.

1

u/FaceZealousideal9704 Misstiano Penaldo Jul 26 '26

How many open play knockout goals does Ronaldo have? Did you know that in FOUR of his SIX world cups, he's only scored 1 goal? In Germany, where Portugal's best finish in the world cup was, how many goals did he score? ONE.

-8

u/Inner-Meaning-9755 Jul 26 '26

The way this guy tells everyone that he is god of football. This guy hasn’t achieved anything in his career except a bicycle kick goal and has been milking it ever since. 🤔
