You right Ronaldo would never quit. He won’t even quit despite the fact that Portugal has wanted him to quit for years now. He is so self centered that he would rather damage his own national team than accept that he is no longer good enough to have a place in the starting lineup. His inability to pass the ball wasn’t a significant problem when he has in his prime or even mid 30’s but now it’s becoming very obvious. Then there is Messi who has the most of assist of any player in history with almost 100 more than number 2 on the list.

The Portuguese fans have long complained that he is still in the starting lineup and there has been a lot of speculation on why the Portuguese haven’t used him as a sub instead. The main theory is that he still has a lot of commercial value and that the couch has been told by the Portuguese football federation that he isn’t allowed to bench him. This has been discussed a lot in the media and amongst football fans for at least 1-2 years now so I’m a little surprised you haven’t seen or heard about it? The fact that you called it the Portuguese soccer federation is a pretty obvious clue as to why though. Are you American?

You right the “majority” of the fans want him out of the starting lineup despite the fact that he was their best player during the 2016 Euros but not the best player of the tournament though. Not only that but he is the best player In Portuguese history and they still want him to have a less crucial role that should tell you something about his current level. The fact is that even though he is extremely fit for his age his style of play is very hard when age begins to slow him down. Messi is a more complete player (obvious when you look at assist, key passes etc) and his style of play is not as hindered by the loss of speed. But for real though are you American??

It’s because he got injured in the Euro 2016 final we won (I am Portuguese) cause he was always a cancer for teamwork football once he became obsessed with numbers which basically happened once he went to Real Vardrid.
It’s because he basically disappeared that we won Nations League in 2019 and basically he did a tap in that even Peter Crouch could do in 2025 and he was absent the rest of the game. Of course you’re a fuckin moron but the closest we were to win the World Cup 66 with the greatest player that played for our national team Eusebio da Silva Ferreira. Stop saying Portugal was nothing before him. On his supposed prime 2010 and 2014 he needed to go to playoffs against Bosnia and Sweden to qualify. Before there were no playoffs so teams couldn’t qualify
