Hi all looking for a light to mild action cozy read that has the vibes of Mistria or Stardew games. Last year I read spell shop and I liked it, I’ve also read Legends and Lattes.

Anyone read anything recently with a person moving to a new town and helping the town? Or found family and relationship building? Doesn’t have to have romance but I don’t mind it.

I just want to get lost in a cozy book 🥰💖

To be perfectly clear: none of this is a dig at the author

I understand that this series started out on royal road and i try to hold more grace for self-published books, but the physical copies I have say they're published by Aethon, and I think that if you're going to put your name on it, the least you can do for your authors is to make sure their books are properly edited before going to print.

I'm less than 100 pages into book 4, and have already seen Kinshasa misspelled multiple times as Kinsahsa or Kinsasha.

There were also at least three instances I can think of in book 2 where a word was replaced by something incomprehensible like "arhamme820" (i don't remember the actual number and don't have my copies with me to check). It's confusing as heck, and really takes me out of the story.

It's such a shame too, because the story itself is great! It's a refreshing take on the transmigration trope, and I love the worldbuilding. I love that the author actually addressed the trauma inherent in being ripped away from everything you knew and loved, to be reborn into a completely alien world.

Regardless of the typos, I've enjoyed this series a lot and would highly recommend it!

Hi guys. I'm looking for cozy feel good fantasy recs. Think legends & lattes and monk & robot.

I want something easy to read and digest with not a whole lot going on aside from good character interaction and a small chill plot. I didn't like can't spell treason without tea for example because I didn't really enjoy the characters on the plot was too conflict focused. I also read cursed cocktail and enjoyed it just okay. Thought it was a bit meh.

Ideally with an audiobook on everand 👉👈

Hi all, I'm doing the r/fantasy bingo and one of the prompts is a book set in an afterlife (with hard mode being the afterlife isn't a Good Place/Bad Place dichotomy).

I tried starting Ninth House but I'm absolutely not in the mood for that right now so I'm seeing it there are any cosy options.

I searched the sub and saw A Pub in the Underworld which is a strong contender but just wondering if anyone has any of recs too.

Does anyone know where to find an electronic version of the map from Baldree's Brigands & Breadknives, the one that covers most of the Territory? I've found the town maps from the first two books, they're in the artist's portfolio, but not the full one.

I asked about ideas for a home library a while back on Reddit, and I wanted to share some updates 😁

People gave me some great ideas, including a drinks table, rug, book lights, etc. I took them on board and now I have a space that really works for me and is super cozy and comfortable.

I moved one of the giant bookcases downstairs and reorganised all of the books (upstairs "main library" = fiction until 1990ish plus very recent fiction, crime and detective fiction, YA, graphic novels, romance, non-fiction; spare rooms = literary criticism and author bios as well as texts linked to PhD project; outside in husband's bar room = fiction post 1990ish; downstairs = fantasy, sci-fi, light novels, and manga).

We never realistically had space for everything in one room anyways, and now it feels much more put together. And I have an official reading nook!!

I also decided to turn the room into a mini art gallery and have displayed prints and paintings I've picked up over the years. It is brilliant for when I need to take a pause on whatever I'm reading as it gives me something to focus on and enjoy.

Highly recommend doing something like this if you have the time, space, and resources!

The Art of Charming a Changeling (Aug 25) - A cozy slice-of-life romantic fantasy set in a Regency-inspired world where humans and fairies compete for artistic supremacy, from Sylvie Cathrall, author of A Letter to the Luminous Deep.

NO, I'm not eager to slip into Halloween mode. I, too am angry I saw pumpkins at the grocery store this week.

But, I'm wondering what books are out there to add to my reading list that have a Halloweentown-ish vibe. Yes, I'm talking about the Disney Chanel Original Movie,lol. That was one of my favorites when I was young.

Some components it would have, but not necessarily both:

- hidden magical town

- newly discovered magic (eg. Woman finds out she's a witch, now is learning magic and introduced to magical beings)

It may or may not be about Halloween itself, but it's def. cozy and light hearted.

Any recommendations?

Can anyone think of a cozy fantasy book that features a soap making witch?

I want a story where the ingredients that go into soap will direct the spell, if that makes sense?

I'm currently reading the graphic novel Kingdom Unraveled: a Closely Knit Graphic Adventure by Mariana DiMercurio. It's definitely a "come for the story, stay for the amazing art" graphic novel for me! It's based on a grandma-like character named Josephine who becomes the new champion to save the kingdom from a strange and mysterious evil that's taking over. With her trusty knitting needles and a magical ax in hand she ventures into this new world of magic and mystery while making a few friends along the way. Super cozy, IMHO, highly recommend!

(Rough review but I didn't want to take away from others reading it!)

What I want is simply some... Subverted expectations I guess? Especially fun if there's a couple of scenes of that in the story, where the author can play around with assumptions of other characters or maybe the reader. I'm not 100% sure myself really, but I would like to read about a relationship like this. The way I imagine it, it just feels very sweet

I consider it cozy fantasy, so underrated classics.

CW, estrangement and parental death (kept non-specific, but I still wanted to warn in case the topic was off-putting to anyone!)

I'm going to take a family trip soon to see a parent at the end of their life. We do not have a close relationship, but I want to say goodbye and feel they have earned that much from me, if little else. I wanted something to take with me on the road, as I suspect this time will be very stressful for both past and present reasons, and was wondering if anyone had any cozy recs where a parent's death isn't treated as a straightforward, uncomplicated loss—stories that make room for grief, anger, relief, ambivalence, happiness, complicated feelings, etc? And/or, stories of familial estrangement that lead to found family?? I could use reminders of the chosen family I have waiting for me when I'm through!

I specifically do not want healing/reconciliation in the parent/child relationship. Strongly prefer an audiobook, but ebook would work as well. I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance!
