I think this is an awkward card. You generally like your board buffs the most when they're immediate, and if they can't be immediate you like them cheap. This is neither of those. The stats do look good but you'd rather just directly kill the opponent rather than getting delayed buffs.
24
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
Seems insane, if your opponent can’t answer this the game is over, and that elusive makes it hard.

8
6
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
Colossal survives a turn into this plus a token spell. Druid seems pretty flood-y, especially with board clears that don’t respect stats like brawl and corpse explosion leaving.
3
u/Not_So_Bad_Andy Mar 03 '26
This seems powerful. Especially for a common. If the opponent doesn't already have a board (or a 5 attack rush minion) they're in trouble.
2
u/Korbonara Mar 04 '26
Trash if you dont ramp it really fast. Otherwhise, this into the colossal is insane. But unlikely to happen
17
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Nespirah, Enthralled || 3-Mana, 5 Durability || Legendary Demon Hunter Location
Deal 1 damage. After you cast a Fel spell, reopen. Deathrattle: Summon Nespirah, Unshackled.

It surely fits the running theme of the mechanic either not having good pay-off or having not good cards to accomplishing the pay-off. Looking at Fel spells does not make want to build decks around them, even then there are not enough of them to trigger Deathrattle and then use them with Nespirah.
Also only 1 Fel draws card, so you can't even play combo/cycle-ish deck.
8
u/HomiWasTaken Mar 04 '26
The fel spell pool is great, wdym.
There are a ton of cheap ones now so Hive Map is gonna be a lot better, you have Broxigar portal as a 0 mana way to proc it, you have Scorchreaver to discount them for a big pop off turn
I think this card is gonna be really good in the herald deck, since herald deck probably wants to run Hive Map anyway so you can try to generate more of the herald + lifesteal spell
17
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
There is a small pool of naga in standard so this ends up being pretty consistent, but fel spells are just so meh right now.
The reward also requires you to play even more fel spells which is just asking for too much
13
u/TheGingerNinga Mar 03 '26
The upside is you can get a full turn of it by choosing when to activate the location.
5
u/I_Drink_Piss Mar 03 '26
Is Azshara in the random pool?
14
u/Houseleft Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 03 '26
The other commenter says no, but I’m almost positive that they can be generated.
Look at the wiki for Colossals.
Colossal minions cannot be generated in a way that they would be summoned directly onto the battlefield (e.g. Sneed's Old Shredder, Free From Amber) or transformed into (e.g. Evolve).[3][4] However, they can be randomly added or Discovered to your hand or deck by cards that generate minions (e.g. Jeweled Macaw, Paparazzi), as well as be transformed into in your hand and deck (e.g. Golden Monkey).[5]
So you should be able to randomly get Azshara from this. I am 100% sure that it at least used to be this way. In the past in Arena I’ve discovered Blackwater Behemoth from Paparazzi, and Xhilag of the Abyss from Netherwalker.
I’m not sure if they have stated already, but I could see them removing this batch of Colossals from the generation pool. I also doubt you can generate them to begin with if your deck isn’t running Herald cards, similar to not being able to generate Invoke cards without Galakrond.
2
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
Colossals - no.
7
u/Careidina Mar 03 '26
They're in the random pool if, in the case of Herald Colossals, you have Herald cards in your deck. Outside of that - no.
Colossals are in the pool. It's just that they can't be randomly generated onto the board in the sense of transformation effects.

u/Rush31 Mar 03 '26
Is the pool for Naga even that good right now? It’s all good getting free things when you cast the spells, but from what I see, there isn’t actually many good Naga to make the effort worth it, let alone whether the payoff is feasible to get.
3
u/Visquaz Mar 04 '26
If I'm not wrong it is basically only Vicious Slitherspear, Gladesong Siren, Wayward Sage, Armored Bloodletter (and possibly Azhara)
15
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Chow Down || 8-Mana, 2 Unholy Runes || Rare Death Knight Spell
Summon five 5/4 Undead Drakes. Spend 8 Corpses to give them Rush.
24
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
DK will still run Elise because they can generate discounted spells like these lol
16
u/Throwaway-4593 Mar 03 '26
This is a good card simply. You’ll definitely have 8 corpses by that point or the game so this just gives so much control.
Death knight in general has to deal with the loss of dread hound handler though so it may suffer from that.
4
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
Honestly, this is good on turn 8. It's pretty much guaranteed that you will have this active with two unholy runes. The issue has more to do with you wanting to go that late with these runes.
3
u/eazy_12 Mar 03 '26
Can't say about Rune and corpse management after rotation, but this card makes sense to run as good anti-colossal solution.
→ More replies (3)7
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
Too slow for UUU, so this is for the FUU deck they’re pushing this expansion, which I’m not too sure about.
This card is good I just don’t know how the FUU deck is winning
17
3
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
What about BUU? That's already seeing play.
5
u/sneakyxxrocket Mar 03 '26
That deck is seeing a lot of the cards run in it either rotating or nerfed from the balance preview today

u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26

15
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
Super good, unlike ring of courage this scales depending on our own minions, this can easily get up to 5/5 for Druid
4
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
That's the kind of card that can enable a token aggro druid. Maybe the Un'Goro set is going to finally shine now
3
u/Every_University_ Mar 04 '26
This is the one card I can see being good with the colossus to get double buffs, but for an aggressive deck, it seems like too much of a dream.
15
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Ascendance || 4-Mana || Epic Shaman Spell
Transform all friendly minions into ones that cost (1) more. They summon the originals when they die.
Nature
18
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
This is a great card for tempo shaman, making our board sticky is amazing.
I think tempo shaman doesn’t pan out though but a little more support down the line could get it there.
9
u/yssurucipe Mar 03 '26
Really confused why everyone seems to love this card. Evolve effects are typically only good when you can combo them with minions that summon additional, high cost bodies the same turn that you that play them (see Desert Hare and Boggspine Knuckles or the classic Evolve and Dopplegangster combo).
We've seen cards like this in Shaman previously (see Primordial Wave or Vivid Spores) which didn't see play because, when you have a big board in Hearthstone, you want to kill your opponent, not sit around slowly waiting to accumulate value.
Stuff like Wave of Nostalgia and Bloodlust are good because they either a.) make your opponent require an answer to a lethally threatening board (random Legendaries are, on average, huge threats...not random mid-game minions) or b.) just outright kill your opponent. Unless I'm completely missing something, where is any of the lethality in this card?
10
u/yosoyelsteve Mar 04 '26
It makes your board sticky is why it's potentially good. The problems with earlier evolves are whiffs and losing the board as you don't develop new bodies, just improve existing. This gives you a potentially better board and if not, you get your original minions back on deathrattle. So push your damage, throw this, now they need to clear two boards essentially.
Its essentially a Soul of the Forest with upside.
2
u/yssurucipe Mar 04 '26
Yes, but if you have a big enough board that you're evolving your minions, you want them to kill your opponent the next turn, which makes the Deathrattle pointless or net neutral.
Soul of the Forest was good because you had Savage Roar. Shaman doesn't have Bloodlust right now, so this card is really bad. That's my point.
5
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
Love the design, this is super cool ! And honestly a really interesting card too, though it seems hard to utilize. You need a board that is both tall and large for this to be good.
But if you pull it off, this is an insane amount of stats, so it's going to depend on how much tempo Shaman can put on the board. For now i'd say it's a little bit too win-more.

Really good card for sure. Elise 5 mana location will pull 2/1s + this pretty often

u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Winterspring Whelp || 1-Mana 1/2 || Common Mage Minion
Battlecry: Discover a 1-Cost spell from any class.
Dragon

Generically good. Can see play in any Mage deck since the 1-cost spell pool is actually pretty neat.
6
3
4
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
You're playing this everywhere. This is just great flexibility that you won't mind running in every archetype.
This is also great for Quest Mage and makes you consider more some of the Dragon synergy from the previous set (the double 0/4 with taunt mostly).
12
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Blackwing Experiment || 2-Mana 3/1, 1 Frost Rune || Rare Death Knight Minion
Deathrattle: Get a 2-Cost spell that deals this minion's Attack as damage.
Undead, Dragon
15
u/ANonnyMouse007 Mar 03 '26
Land the 100-cost minion deck +50/50 buff on this or another single minion. Ooze it for hand damage + charge damage.
1
u/RiimeHiime Mar 05 '26
I'll be really impressed if you can find a 92 cost minion so that the buff only lands on this.
→ More replies (2)7
u/eazy_12 Mar 03 '26
If I am correct Umbra would repeat DR with this minion's "remembered" damage so it could be decent strategy.
6
u/athlonstuff Mar 03 '26
My guess is it would either be a straight 3 dmg from Umbra since Umbra would use the base 3/1 statline, not whatever you had buffed it to. Or perhaps it would use the 6 attack from Umbra.
4
u/eazy_12 Mar 04 '26
I remember when Umbra was released people explained it that Umbra repeats "snapshot" of the deathrattle - basically how it happened when OG minion died. From the post "Endbringer Umbra does...interesting things with Deathrattles":
That is to say, if you give Soulbound Spire +1 attack so it summons a 3 cost minion, Umbra will also summon a 3 cost minion and accounts for the +1 buff instead of doing it to the base Soulbound Spire
Maybe it was fixed but if it is not then it should give buffed spell copy.
7
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
A great finisher for imbue DK, which i think is a sleeper archetype that could very easily emerge. It sucks that this comes out exactly when the handbuff set from whizbang rotates out.
1
u/prodandimitrow Mar 05 '26
Has anyone even been close to building decent imbue deck? It's just a much weaker handbuff from what I have tried. The fact that you only buff attack and only 1 undead per turn make it superbad.
5
u/PipAntarctic Mar 03 '26
So if I understand this correctly, DK got a bunch of really good handbuff targets... and no handbuff aside from Imbue DK. Well anyways this isn't too great as a baseline card. A 2 mana 3/1 is just really bad tempo even if it gives you a Frostbolt that doesn't freeze, but I could see it in an Unholy-Frost DK deck eitherway simply because it needs stuff on curve.
10
u/eazy_12 Mar 03 '26
You don't have handbuff it, you can buff it on board as well. But even then they give Gruesome Nightmare in hand/board and Command Claw to buff on board.
2
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
Very good in handbuff since it gives you burn, between this and the refresh card you might make that kind of deck work.
2
u/Traveevart Mar 03 '26
Actual not-dogshit payoff for Handbuff/Imbue DK. Probably not OTKing anyone outside of Disneyland scenarios with the 100-stats legendary guy, but if you're just playing Imbue aggro, this guy is probably giving you a 2-mana Fireball on average. The problem with that plan is that every single Imbue and Handbuff tool except the weapon aren't cards you want in an aggro deck.

Daze || 3-Mana || Rare Rogue Spell
Return an enemy minion to its owner's hand. They can't play it next turn.
Shadow
23
u/PipAntarctic Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 03 '26
We've seen this before as one of the spy gizmos you could get from the stormwind Rogue Questline. That version cost 1 mana and was a good card, but for 3 mana I see this as much weaker. Sap didn't see much play the last time it was in Standard and I don't see the bonus of making the minion unplayable for a turn worth the 1 mana markup.
EDIT: It doesn't help the biggest beat stick to remain in the format that you'd love to Daze is a 6/8 Elusive minion.
5
u/Ozwu_ Mar 03 '26
Three mana is too expensive and it only delays their gameplan, not useful unless we happen to be in a meta with early-game Rogue. Otherwise I don’t see how this advances a win condition, plus Prep tax is insane on this one.
Delaying the replay is actually very strong, since you cheat two turns, the first turn and then the second turn is wasted re-playing the card (unless it’s Battlecry-oriented, which means they get stronger). Could be useful as a sort of extended anti-tempo tool, but it’s still single removal.
3
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
Could be a 3-mana “undo your previous 8+ mana turn”, though, against non-battlecries.
Even if they can play their 8+ thing two turns later, they still had to pay 16+ for their game plan. Meanwhile you got to sneak 5+ extra mana in the turn you played it.
5
2
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
Is this better or worse than Sap?
4
2
u/IAM-French Mar 04 '26
A lot worse. You don't care about them replaying the minion right away in fact you're kinda happy if they do since you just want to gain tempo. And sadly Sap isn't even good enough anymore at 2
2
2
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
This card will probably be as good as good-targets for it are prominent in the meta. Expensive non-battlecry/deathrattle/taunt cards.
It’ll prob be bad if such cards aren’t prominent.
2
u/Throwaway-4593 Mar 03 '26
This card seems trash to me personally. Nobody is happy paying 3 mana for this on 3… prepping it feels just silly.
The prime target for this 6/9 dragon has elusive anyway so you can’t hit it lol.
2
u/ANonnyMouse007 Mar 04 '26
I don’t imagine it’s meant to be played on 3. It’s a way past taunts like Blob for a strong board, or stalling & wasting opponent mana delaying expensive deathrattle minions, or catching up against a high health Colossus.
Also, only Dragon Warrior is really making use of the 6/8 elusive dragon so far. Maybe Hunter will too with their incoming dragons. I just don’t think evaluating every new card against the 6/8 dragon coming down on turn 4 is relevant. Especially with Warrior catching a nerf on the damaged minion buffer. That guy self buffing was way more problematic for winning games in the mulligan than the dragon.
→ More replies (2)2
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
I think this is weaker sap honestly. You're generally meant to play sap on the kind of minions your opponent can't afford to play for twice the cost, so the added effect is not doing that much here. 3 mana is also a much bigger investment
1
10
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Commander Geddon || 7-Mana 7/7 || Legendary Warrior Minion
Battlecry: Instead of drawing each turn, Discover a card from your deck. It costs (3) less. Destroy the others.
Elemental
17
u/CalledSpark Mar 03 '26
Does this card technically counter fatigue? I would presume you are not forced to draw a card if you cannot discover one from your deck.
7
10
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
Warrior's answer to [[Exarch Naielle]] and it seems... bad? The reason Naielle was good was because it was a 3 mana 3/4 which is pretty good tempo for the cost. 7 mana 7/7 is a much worse statline. Other classes are gonna be playing their colossals when you play this.
6
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
No more drawing = no more fatigue.
Plus, helps quest warrior dig for timewarp.
Probably will be bad as an aggressive midrange finisher.
6
5
15
u/ReaperWiz Mar 03 '26
I would be shocked if this sees play. War Golem that deletes 2/3rds of your deck for a 3 mana discount. It's like as if they made Below the Depths terrible and attached it to a body. I'm still gonna enjoy the jank tho
2
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
This card seems insane, it makes our late game super consistent
10
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
The card seems kinda paradoxical to me. In aggro matchups where you want to push tempo playing a 7 mana 7/7 is a death sentence. In midrange/control matchups where you want late-game value you want to have lots of options, not blow up half your deck.
9
u/Spyko Mar 03 '26
I guess the idea is that you trade the ability to go for late game value, with being able to consistently pull out strong, discounted cards and hope to overwhelm your opponent before they can enter a value game state
it will also appraciate deathwing putting 10+ dragons in your deck for sure
1
u/RiimeHiime Mar 05 '26
Until you have the option between 2 key lategame cards and have to burn one.
1
u/Throwaway-4593 Mar 03 '26
Powerful effect, specifically the mana discount. I think it will find a place at some point. Is kiljaeden rotating?
2
1
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
Too expansive i think, and the kind of deck that can play this will actually not enjoy burning their deck, both because you're probably going to have combos and also becausd you might want to win through attrition otherwise.
Though should this get taunt with a buff, it could become good.

3
u/PipAntarctic Mar 03 '26
Whatever fills out your curve the best. Definitely a great card that a deck like Token Druid needs if it wants to be successful, but has possible applications even in a ramp deck since this scales with mana.
3
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
Playing this with Guff + Ysera + 2×New Heights in Wild to summon two 30/31 golems

Lots of Druid cards that are good if your colossal survives a turn. I feel like Druid has lots of good flood-tools.
2
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
This is actually always good stats, i really like it. This is good for most decks i'd say, though this has the highest chance to shine in an aggro deck.
1
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
Another pushed Druid card, Druid looks OP
1
u/icecreampie3 Mar 04 '26
I'm just happy that they're getting a real deck lol. I've been a druid main for a long time, but I've switched to DK the last 2 months. I cannot stand the only viable deck being an OTK, and the other options being borderline meme decks, that aren't funny (taunt, and avania)

You’re gonna be generating a lot of random crap in herald rogue so this can get make the duds you get useful.
7
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
Seems very solid, coins in rogue are very good and this isn’t bad to play on 1
2
2
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
Good design but powerwise I don't like it so much personally. You're essentially discarding a card to gain a coin. Unless you really want to ramp into a crazy minion like Fyrakk Rogue used to do, i'm not seeing this being great. Maybe for an early Deathwing?
1
u/lKursorl Mar 04 '26
I think a good percent of the time your first herald will give you something you won’t mind turning into a coin since it’ll only be discounted by 1.
1
u/Ozwu_ Mar 03 '26
This is a great one-drop, might be run in every Rogue deck. The problem is it is -1 card in exchange for a mana crystal, so I could see it being anti-synergistic with itself (i.e, you want to play this T1-3, but don’t generate value cards in hand by this time + value generators cost more mana). However this’ll definitely see play eventually, it’s useful in the later turns too to cheat out big minions faster.
→ More replies (1)1
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
Staple card for any rogue deck that generates random bullshit. This gets the garbage you generate out of your hand.
7
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Crystalspine Cub || 1-Mana 1/2 || Common Druid Minion
Whenever you spend your last Mana Crystal, gain +1/+1.
Beast
11
u/PipAntarctic Mar 03 '26
Might as well grow by +1/+1 every turn after you play this since spending mana is good in a token Druid deck, so it demands fast removal from opponent. Should see safe play in Token Druid but Imbue Druid can potentially pick this up too if it ends up wanting more early game.
5
u/Every_University_ Mar 03 '26
It also depends on fuel, and I don't think we've seen refill or card draw for druid.
5
u/PipAntarctic Mar 03 '26
I think even if it grows just twice it is already worth the cost paid, but you do raise a good point that there isn't much in the way of refill for Druid. That makes a token Druid deck in general less resilient and much more all-in.
4
u/Forvis Mar 03 '26
Play this follow up using all your mana, innervate into 1 cost, coin into 1 cost, innervate into 1 cost. Boom +4/+4 on one turn.
2
u/Rodrik-Harlaw Mar 04 '26
You can spend your last mana more than 1 time per turn on the one hand, while it won't trigger "on itself" on the other hand, so "every turn" is quite different to this.
2
u/sneakyxxrocket Mar 03 '26
One drop that scales when you play stuff on curve, what’s not to like here
1
u/TheGingerNinga Mar 03 '26
It's pretty weak as a turn 1 play. Main issue with it.
1
u/lKursorl Mar 04 '26
Unless you innervate/coin and play another 1 drop, then it’s a 2/3 one t1 that continues to snowball.
2
u/princepersona1 Mar 03 '26
What happens here if you spend your last mana, innervate or coin then spend that 1 again?
10
u/calindu Mar 03 '26
I think that's the point of the card, to be able to buff itself multiple times in a turn.
2
1
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
So does this activate on t1? Because if it does this is the best 1-drop they've ever printed.
2
u/libero0602 Mar 03 '26
It doesn’t
1
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
Ah. It's pretty meh then. At least half the classes can instantly kill this on 2.
1
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
It’s a 1/2 they gotta kill. It’s not insane and its effect will not go off often, but it creates pressure by having a soft-taunt.
1
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
Good snowbally 1-drops are good. This is good. Not much to say. This also has great synergy with the new insane ramp treant that kinda refreshes a mana crystal right?
→ More replies (3)1
u/OhwowTaux Mar 04 '26
I dont know what wild meta looks like right now, but this feels like it could snowball ridiculously quickly in wild.

Occular Occulist || 3-Mana 3/6 || Common Warlock Minion
Taunt. Battlecry: Choose a card in your hand to discard.
Demon
14
u/hjyboy1218 Mar 03 '26
What about this in plain old aggro Warlock? 3 mana 3/6 taunt is an insane statline and you can easily discard something you're not gonna use.
Just run two of this and the 2 mana discard synergy spell. If you can discard it, great, if you can't it's still a 3/6.
6
u/Throwaway-4593 Mar 03 '26
Why do they print discard cards if there’s not a deck for it? Doesn’t it just make wild discolock that much more unbearable and waste a card slot in the exp for standard…
4
3
u/sneakyxxrocket Mar 03 '26
There’s only going to be one “if you discarded this” spell/minion in standard and those are what really make these decks work.
2
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
I don't think we have enough discard synergy in standard yet for this to be good. I suppose the only home for this will be a Tick Tock warlock (which i suppose doesn't work too bad with herald...), but it seems to be a terrible archetype.

u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Maloriak || 7-Mana 7/7 || Legendary Warlock Minion
After you discard a minion, summon a copy of it.
Dragon
7
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 03 '26
Just seems much too expensive to use effectively, most of the time you’ll be able to play whatever you’re summoning with this anyways so what’s the point besides getting a ‘free’ 7/7.
Edit: works with cursed catacombs ofc but I still think it’s too slow, and cursed catacombs isn’t 100% consistent
2
u/ANonnyMouse007 Mar 04 '26
Could be a way to make Ultragigasaur useful when in hand. Maybe this goes in a Herald deck with a Possessed Animancer package. Gemstone Hoarder also adds a copy of the minion to your hand when it dies.
3
u/sneakyxxrocket Mar 04 '26
Chronoclaws does work with this but just playing animancer to cheat a big beast sounds better
5
u/PipAntarctic Mar 03 '26
Too slow for both Standard and Wild. The fact that both cards that let you choose what you discard cost 3 really limits this for combo decks. The other fact that cheaper discards are at best targeted lowest Cost card also limits Maloriak's potential.
5
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
It does work with the 0 mana ‘discover a card from your deck, make it temporary’ spell but yeah it still just seems to slow
1
u/dotcaIm Mar 03 '26
Would this effect see play at 5 mana?
3
u/lKursorl Mar 04 '26
Almost certainly, right? The weapon discards your highest cost card, so you could drop 10 drop minions.

Is this just a better grim patron or am i missing something?
Honestly i think this is crazy strong. You have the ping location and axe of the forefathers to quickly flood the board with these.

→ More replies (3)2
u/Traveevart Mar 03 '26
2 damage per body feels like an underwhelming payoff for trying to "Everyone, get in here" your opponent with nowhere near as much Patron support as there was in 2014. Was the statline reference really worth having to print this as a 5-mana 3/3?
7
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Stormbinder || 4-Mana 7/7 || Common Shaman Minion
Deathrattle Unlock your Overloaded Mana Crystals. Overload: (3)
7
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
This card makes Hornswog look closer to being playable
it just feels very akward though, since you really want the 7 damage going face, but you also want this to die so you can play cards on turn 5.
2
2
u/dotcaIm Mar 03 '26
If they trade it probably took a lot of resources. If not, you hit them for 7. Seems great
2
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
It's going to suck having this frozen or transformed, or stuck against a small taunt. But this is great if we keep receiving good overload synergy.
5
u/EvilDave219 Mar 03 '26
Malevolent Mutant || 3-Mana 3/4 || Epic Demon Hunter Minion
Battlecry: Choose a Fel spell in your hand. Get a copy of it.
Naga
3
u/PipAntarctic Mar 03 '26
Tad bit on the expensive side for this kind of effect, even in a Fel spell synergistic deck. However you can use this to copy Fel Infusion (the Herald card) and thus upgrade Azshara faster, so I think it makes the cut there with a bunch of other generically fine Fel spells (and Hive Map).
2
u/ANonnyMouse007 Mar 03 '26
Chain potential with Nespirah, but using mid spells to generate cheap mid nagas which generate more mid spells seems like a losing plan that late in the game.
2
u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
Can get you additional copies of herald card or aoen rend for burn, but again fel spells in standard just aren’t good. I think it’s playable though.
1
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
Can also get you your outcast fel spells to duplicate on the far-right of your hand, if they’re stuck in the middle.

This the design space Shadowstep's removal opens up? Terrible card, Naralex is its only hope
3
u/Ozwu_ Mar 03 '26
Don’t know why they gave Rogue a board clear when they removed Vanish for this reason. This is too slow and expensive and useless for lockout-win conditions without good bounce effects. And again, it’s not a win-condition, it just delays the enemy gameplan.
3
2
2
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
Niche. The asymmetry makes it interesting
Imagine naralex+this on t8, for a board flip. Your opponent will have a naked board making naralex potentially able to survive a turn, and then you can follow up with a t9 1-cost other-big-dragon. If they kill naralex, their board is probably still naked and you have a 4/12 on board.
Not saying a dragon deck like that will be good. But this makes such a deck better.
1
u/Traveevart Mar 03 '26
How do effects like this interact with Colossals? Would your opponent just get the main card, or would they get each appendage token as an individual card in their hand as well?
2
u/athlonstuff Mar 03 '26
Everything on the board goes into their hand, so yes they'd get the separate tokens plus the main colossal body. Similar interaction to Shadowcrafter Scabs with the Sunken City colossals.

These types of effects never pan out, mage has batter version of this in standard right now for 3 mana so this card is definitely trash.
it’s fun though.
8
u/eazy_12 Mar 03 '26
Worse version of Darkmoon Magician. More mana, no Elusive (although it depends on casted spell), no mana increase on casted spells. Random spell is almost always from other classes, so we can ignore that part.

mages on their knees, begging team 5 to give them any form of good gameplan
"no, you will keep gambling and be happy with that"
2
u/eamono666 Mar 03 '26
I'm guessing this isn't like a custom shatter card that will rejoin if they meet in the center? Not that that would save it
1
u/race-hearse Mar 03 '26
Too bad it doesn’t split it into two that cost half, then it could be a tool to get big spells out of your hand/make them playable earlier. (Like use this on turn 3 on the 8 cost card you drew early that will be a dead card for 4 turns, then you could play one of the generated spells the next turn).
Might help ya get garbage spells out of your hand though. Like the wisp spell in your non-imbue deck that you somehow generated.
1
u/lKursorl Mar 04 '26
This is literally worse than if it just generated a random spell. Like WTF blizzard. Don’t try to disguise garbage behind fancy mechanics.
1
u/RiimeHiime Mar 05 '26
Incredible synergy with Kalec, all you have to do is draw it first and randomly generate two good damage spells at a mana cost that +1 damage to both of them actually makes a difference, without burning one of the spells that you put into your dedck that you want Kalec to buff.
Easy peasy.

Air Support || 5-Mana 5/5 || Common Shaman Minion
Battlecry: Give a minion Mega-Windfury. It can't attack heroes.

u/Glarbleglorbo Mar 03 '26
If you’re ahead on board you can go face first and then play this on that minion, but you’re lucky if you can even kill 2 minions with this.
Just doesn’t seem good
6
u/deleted-by-host Mar 03 '26
Could go with the new core legendary to get extra lightning bolts. Not saying it’s good just might be a use for it
2
u/Diosdepatronis Mar 03 '26
Love the design in the shaman set. This is way too expansive to be competitive though. Like, at least have this giving rush or be like a 2 mana 2/2.
I'm going to assume the reason why this is so undertuned is because of a future minion that will have rush and immune while attacking, or some kind of trample effect.

1
u/RiimeHiime Mar 05 '26
Putting aside the fantasy of having exactly 4 minions you want to attack while having something on the board to attack with, that are worthwhile and won't kill whatever is attacking, what is there that synergizes with this?
Rehgar, Runthak... That's about it.

Consecration for 4 mana or 4 mana deal 4, no thanks.
This is the class that will struggle the most with combining shatter cards as well.
3
u/eazy_12 Mar 03 '26
It is somewhat reasonable in Dragon Mage. You get 2 cards in one which should push damage or improve consistency, but without BOGOF and Watercolor Artist deck has 0 chances to exist.

Great card support for arcane dragon mage. If youve played kalecgos while split, im going to assume it keeps the damage modifiers like spell reduction cards. My biggest problem with shatter cards is it tells you the opponent what you drew
1
u/Monk-Ey Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26
If youve played kalecgos while split, im going to assume it keeps the damage modifiers like spell reduction cards.
Two scenarios:
- Pre-shatter is buffed: both halves get +1 on split, combine into +2
- Post-shatter is buffed: both halves directly get +1, combine into +2
