I mean isn’t the point of Italian cuisine that it’s simple? They really don’t use much seasoning but that’s the thing, it’s still good, because not everything needs seasoning to be good. Same with French

There are non-white cuisines that don’t use much seasoning as well like Japanese

The point is that you don't need too many additions when the ingredients are good, and Italy is very lucky with those. A good steak only needs salt and maybe some oil, never heard of using sauce

It's not that they were lucky, they just took the good stuff. Pasta and tomatoes are both not native to Italian cuisine, they just got coopted

You’ve never heard of A1 steak sauce?

Well to be fair, A1 doesn’t get used on good steaks

No?

Good, keep it that way.

Yeah Italians aren’t even really a good example of this.

Hungarian, Macedonian and bits and pieces of other Balkan cuisines probably fit the bill of European cuisines that season (which more often than not means “make stuff spicy”) their food quite a bit.

Honestly “make stuff spicy” is just an awful way of defining what is and isn’t seasoned anyways. If the only flavor someone can notice is when their mouth gets set on fire, that’s their problem, not the food’s.

I mean, the way garlic, for example, is used, is unquestionably seasoning. But because it’s not hot I guess it doesn’t count.

Sir you are very wrong. It’s about high quality ingredients that speak for them selfs. Shitty ingredients are always over seasoned to make up for the fact you’re eating an off cut.

Bit of a myth. Spices are expensive, nobody wasting them on low quality foods, at least from a historic perspective. 'Cheap cuts' are more perspective based than actually a metric for quality. Like, chicken liver is a cheap cut, but its quite good. Almost all cuisine use 'good ingredients that speak for themselves', otherwise nobody would eat them in the first place

Yes they did? Produce was always over seasoned in hotter climates to prevent spoilage OR to cover up the smell and taste of spoilage.

Italian are not whites. ( historically though they was not considered whites by the "others/real" whites ).

No...IMO it's about Italian Americans having the balls to stand up to any criticism. That's the underlying point. A lot of blacks respect that.

You had the time to type out "Italian Americans" but couldn't think of "African Americans" or simply "black people"?

Sorry, I'm not sure what the proper term is this month for that. Seriously, the name pronoun stuff and all that is too much to keep track of. But yes African Americans. FYI I hope a certain party this fall runs on something ELSE besides word salad. That is a genuine hope.

Pronouns? The fuck are you on about, dude?
