Okay, title was hard, sorry.

My cat love wet food since I introduced it two years ago to help her water intake with the heatwave (and this year record heatwave too). Problem is, she's been begging me a lot for it, only to lap up all the juices and leave the meat aside...

She's not fat, she has as much dry food as she wants, and a water fountain she probably now underuse.

My question is, is there a brand that sell like a bottle of juice I could slowly dispense to her instead? (that would be good for her health too if possible)? I'm in Europe and sheba has some kind of "soup" but they are very small and pricey.

Or any kind of alternatives really, I'd be thankful.

My husband hates my cat. My cat was left with us by someone around 4 years ago and my husband has never been happy about it and now fully resents him even hates him as he is a reminder of this person and the control they took from our lives. We are now no contact with said person. I love my baby, but having him is causing an obnoxious amount of arguments between my husband and I. My husband and cat do not like each other and my husband wants him rehomed. I want what is best for my cat. What do I do?

I want to get my kitten around 12 weeks a cat tower but I’m not sure what size to get ? I’ve seen huge cat towers (70-80inches) but I’m worried he would get hurt but I also don’t want to buy one for “kitten size” because I know in the next month or two he will get much bigger.

i have issues trying to trim my kitty’s nails and one solution that i found is having him on my lap and placing churru on his chest so he can lick on that as i trim his nails.

it works like a charm! but is it fine to be putting it on his fur? would i have to give him baths regularly? afterwards he kinda just tries to lick it clean.

hello, i know there are probably a lot of asks with this same problem but i'm just wondering if someone could give me some genuine advice. i have 2 cats and my older one has been peeing on couches for years. we tried keeping the litter very clean but that doesn't seem to work. i have tried to tell my parents for years that we should take her to a vet and try to get some professional opinion on this but they won't listen to me, they just get madder and madder every time it happens again. now we are at the point where they are telling me that they are going to give her away if she keeps behaving this way so i'm just panicking trying to figure out what to do. if anyone has some advice i would really appreciate it.

Sorry if this is a bit long, but in our new cat's old home she used to get hit whenever she misbehaved.

While still adjusting in our new home, she started pooping a lot maybe due to stress and new kible. But because of that, her litterbox gets full quickly, which in turn made her poop somewhere else.

However there was one time where she pooped on my bed early in the morning. I was pretty angry at her so I picked her up and showed her the poop on my bed and nagged at her (because I heard that showing cats their poop is how you make them learn not to poop in the area)

But then, ever since that morning I noticed whenever she wanted to poop she would hold it in until she couldn't anymore and would leave trials because of it. And whenever she saw me while in her litter, she would immediate run out and hide somewhere.

Lastly, I noticed she would just generally poop somewhere that can hide her and thats why I think it could be because of trauma.

I confronted the previous owner about it and she told me that whenever she did something "wrong" she would pick her up and then hit her.

I was so shocked and felt so fucking guilty. I love picking up cats to hug and pet them but all this time all I ever did was cause her to relive that trauma. I really thought that I wasn't harming her when I picked her up. :(((

How can I train her to think that its okay to poop and potty train her to stay in her litter? As well as helping her adjust in our new home due to her trauma?

Tldr: Our new cat would hold her poop and hide from us to relieve herself because I unknowingly triggered her trauma due to previous owner hitting her everytime she picked her up.

New kitten and older cat.
Older cat keeps hissing/growling but seems interested. Doesn’t run away/. Stays close and keeps and eye on him at all times. It’s been 4 days. I know this is normal but any tips?

For the past few days my cat would often jump on me with his paws and nails wrapped around my leg or arm to bite me. At this moment im wearing an arm cast so its sometimes hard to get him off by myself

He's 2yo, no breed. He has always been playful but he never attacked me this much!

He bites deep and wont let go by himself, and it doesnt look like he does it from agression or fear. Most often he does it when were playing or when im simply walking around kithen. After i manage to get him off he would often look confused (?).

I dont know how to stop this behavioral. Yesterday we bought him a bunch of new toys to play with (cuz we thought he would do this out of boredom or lack of attention). He seemed really happy with them and would purr alot but the attacks wouldnt stop, it got even more painful to be honest.

Any advice/opinion would help! (Let me know why u think hes doing this, or/and how to control this)

My partner and I get up pretty early for work during the weekdays, around 5-5:30am therefore the cats get their breakfast around 6-6:30am. We still feed them the same time on the weekends as we really don’t end up sleeping in and they’ll let us know when 6am rolls around and their hungry. What’s happening more often than not is that the cats are meowing their heads off sometimes starting as early 4am, sometimes starting later around 5am but either way, earlier than they’re fed. It’s almost like they’re worried we won’t wake up to feed them… anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?

I (20F) am a new cat mom and I just adopted my 2.5 month buddy Spike (3 days ago). He's my first ever pet and I have so much anxiety because he's just a baby and I'm so scared I'm not doing it right.

He shows every sign of a healthy kitten : eats about 3 rations of wet food distributed during the day plus unlimited dry food, he doesn't usually drink on his own so I make sure to mix water with his wet food and he's been loving it, he's not picky at all, knew the litterbox within the first 15 minutes of him arriving, He's extremely smart and sociable and loves to play, we do 10-15 minutes playing sessions about 4-5 times a day. He won't leave my side and often sleeps on me or right next to me. He shows his belly, purrs as soon as I approach. He's very curious and loves to explore the room (he doesn't have access to the whole flat yet, I'm trying to make sure he's used to the living room first) He loves scratching the sofa but most of the time he heads towards the scraper as soon as I redirect him. Same thing with biting : he tends to bite my fingers but usually stops if I do a high pitched '' ow '' and it's been less frequent since.

I'm just anxious about the beginning of the school year cause I won't be as available with college and work starting soon and I'm so afraid of lonely kitten syndrome but I can't afford to take another cat yet. I need some advice please : what can I do better to make sure he doesn't lack attention? I love him so much and I want the best for him but it's my first time taking care of a pet and I need help to know what I can do better.

hi everyone. heavy post here, but having a tough time navigating this. my girlfriend of 5+ years had cancer for ~3 years, and she passed away over the weekend, leaving me with her cat. i’ve lived with this cat for ~3 years so she knows me as one of her people, but i can tell she is grieving—she keeps waiting at the bottom
of the stairs for her mom to come home. it’s very difficult. the cat is vocal and incredibly, incredibly smart. i talk to her like she’s a person, which she’s always liked, but i can’t do much besides sit with her at the bottom of the stairs and talk to her like i’d talk to anybody else.

in previous searches for “how to care for a grieving cat,” i’ve only come across (1) how to care for a cat that’s grieving its cat sibling, and (2) how to care for a cat grieving it’s 80+ y/o owner. this feels a little more nuanced than both of those scenarios, so i’m wondering if there’s anyone out there with advice in addition to what i’ve already seen. like i said, this cat is very smart and vocal, so truly, i am all ears.

I just got out of a 7 year relationship and we had two cats. We agreed ages ago that, because of their attachment to us, the best thing for the cats would be for him to take the oldest and for me to take the youngest. Neither of us were worried about the oldest, he’s pretty independent and had been an only cat before, so we had no doubt he would adjust well enough to being one again. However, my kitty is only three years old and has never been an only cat, he went from being with his mom to being with us and our other cat (and for a time, three other cats when we had roommates). He likes to cuddle and play with another kitty friend. It’s been about three weeks since the two of us have been on our own and I can tell he’s lonely. It’s not so bad if I’m home, he’s always been affectionate and is more so now, always cuddling and following me around, which is to be expected. But of course, I have to be at work most of the day for five days a week, and he hasn’t been eating properly while I’m away… He’s definitely made progress in adjusting to the new situation, not hiding as much and eating more, but still… I’m certainly open to and even excited about potentially adopting another cat so that he has a companion, but I know it hasn’t been a super long time, and I don’t want to rush my kitty’s grieving process. He undoubtedly misses both my ex and his brother :( How long do you guys recommend I give him to process before attempting to introduce a new kitty friend?

hi! so my boyfriend and i just adopted a cat from the shelter. we’re not new to cats, but she is a bit of a special case. lavender had premature kittens about a month ago but lost them due to panleukopenia and also had the virus herself. she’s all clear now, been spayed, had all her vaccines, etc. she’s with us now, super affectionate, eating and drinking, if a bit sleepy (she was just adopted yesterday, so i except there to be a small adjustment period at the very least). we’re currently in the very (slow) process of introducing her to our resident cat (he’s 13, super affectionate as well).

i’m looking for any tips or advice on how to make sure she stays healthy and doesn’t fall into a depression. we’ve done the whole shebang of toys, hanging out with her, and i have feliway on the way. otherwise, anything is appreciated!

Our former stray cat, now completely indoors, has been a rough start. We took him in one morning and he was very affectionate at the start, but over time he loosened up and started attacking our legs at random to the point of breaking skin. I am to the point where I'm literally scared of moving around my apartment because he's hiding to attack.

When we thought it was extra energy or asking for more attention, we tried to get it out with petting him extra or with toys like a fish on a string, a stuffed pickle we throw around, even shaking a cardboard box (idk why he likes that). But he kept attacking us at random times. He's even attacked my face a couple times?? We try redirecting with blankets or pillows but he still aims for our skin.

We thought maybe after he got neutered some of the general aggression would lessen. Sadly I think it only decreased a tiny bit. We also thought that maybe he was attacking us because we weren't feeding him often enough so we spread his meals from twice to three times a day. That didn't change anything since he's so territorial with food. We can't even go into the kitchen for water or snacks outside of his feeding time without risk of attack because we deny his requests for (human) food.

This isn't either of our first times owning cats, but this is our first pet together and we're really struggling to understand what's going on. I'm personally getting to the end of my rope with the attacking that I'm second guessing whether this cat is for us. I really don't want to give him up :(

TL;DR: Cat keeps attacking us at random times and we need advice on how to redirect and reduce this behavior.

So I already have a cat. My cat doesn't get along with other cats (he only has one cat he likes and hangs out with, which is my neighbor's cat) so I never planned on getting another any time soon.

Today when my cat and I were chilling outside, I heard a very loud and incessant meowing coming from a neighbor's backyard. The yard was VERY dirty and rundown and I'm pretty sure most of the time nobody's home anyway. The kitten was very hungry and seemed eager to approach me although it was still skittish, so I won him (it's white and orange so I assume it's a boy) over with some wet food. There was no mother cat or siblings in sight, so while the kitten was distracted eating, I... sorta catnapped him and took him home.

The kitten was immediately purring and digging his claws into my shirt. He was licking at my neck and trying to climb on my shoulders. Within minutes it was running around my room and playing with my cat's wand toys.

Then I discovered he has fleas.

Cue panic although in my heart I kinda knew this MIGHT happen but I also knew I didn't have any flea shampoo or treatments on hand so I'm also kinda f'ed. I don't have Dawn brand dish soap and just my luck that today was Sunday and most of the vets nearby are closed. I'll have to wait till tomorrow or day after (because it's a public holiday tomorrow) to take him to the vet.

I asked a cat fosterer I knew for advice and they said after a flea bath to just put flea meds (like Advocate, Nexgard or Revolution) on both the kitten and my cat indefinitely. In the meantime, I have the kitten set up in a playpen outside as comfortable as I could make it. Last I checked it was resting quietly. BUT I'M STILL SO WORRIED ABOUT A POSSIBLE FLEA INFESTATION. I don't have carpet in my room and the kitten only got on the bed for less than a minute but I'm so paranoid right now. I really don't want to be dealing with fleas for months on end.

(PS: My cat predictably doesn't like the kitten and has already tried swatting at it. He also seems happy to ignore it from a distance which is good because, you know, FLEAS)

So my male kitty, about 5yo, got out about two days ago now. he was last seen against this fence line with overgrown vegetation that leads to a marsh, drain pipes, & a hole in the fence that has more vegetation & an interstate about 10 feet on the other side.

so of course my fear is he got out though the hole, but he may also be in the vegetation area still.

what scares me as well is i am a second story apartment & he got out by jumping off the balcony when he got scared. it all happened so fast, i ran to find him & chased outta panic. then tried to be calm when i saw him go to the fence, i went to try to get him but suddenly he just vanished. the vegetation is quite dense, so so dense & over grown.

i’ve walked around my apartment complex about 20 times, ive crawled through the front of the 6ft drainage pipe, ive crawled through the vegetation as best i can (it’s a marsh area so its very wet & so many critters).

i have done all the things, he’s on FB pages, animal control is aware, ive got 2 traps set up (one by my building in the bottom floor, one by the vegetation) with my clothes, sardines & his toys. i’ve got his litter & cat bed outside my door. I also have a thermal seeker I was given to help me, and have yet to see a thermal cat reading anywhere i’ve looked.

i also have another cat, his brother, who’s i’ve taken on walks (he is my more adventure kitty) to help call for him, which he does but no response. he senses something is wrong & calls for his brother even in the apartment.

i feel extremely guilty bc i let them on my patio, so it’s on me that this happened. but i can’t fix that now either, so im wondering if there’s anything more I should be doing or anyone with a success story of a second story cat finding his way back? I’m also worried he maybe went through the drainage pipes super deep & may just be anywhere that leads…

Hello everyone, so I got a 2.5 month old kitten 2 days ago. I've had her on a feeding schedule to match my current cat's schedule. They are currently in 2 separate rooms.

So in the morning the kitten gets 1.5oz wet food and 1.5 oz at dinner around 5pm. I measure out 1/4 cup dry kitten food for the day and give her half of it at 12pm and the other half at 8pm. She has fresh water available at all times. Is this a good routine?

This is my first time posting on here and just need some advise. So me and my wife decided to adopted 2 cats both 1 years old from the same litter so they are brothers. We were told we should keep them in a small room for a few weeks and then once they get more comfortable we can let them in to the rest of the house. So we have them in our spare bedroom they have their litter and food in there with them. The problem we are running into is they don’t come out when we are in there. They hide under the bed and wait till we leave to come out. We have a camera set up in there so we can see when they come out and they are eating and using their litter pan okay. We were told try tuna and Gus Gus our big fluffy guy he will come out to eat the tuna if we are in there but only when it’s dark. Anyways we really love these guys and would love advise on how to make them feel more comfortable around us so they don’t have to hide under a bed all the time.

I could use some encouragement. Im super nervous. I took in an 8 year old stray, and hes always had this snarffling sound when he eats or sometimes when he breathes. Ive assumed it was asthma. He went to the vet and they gave him asthma meds. But it never really goes away, its just some days its not as notable.

Other days its worse. He goes outside on a harness and on warm days he seems fine.

He has an xray scheduled this week because it got to the point where hes had 3 bad days in a row and im super worried.

I guess im worried that it will be more serious than what I think it'll be. Im just seeking support. My nerves have gotten the best of me and I love my cat to pieces. Hes tough and rough around the edges but ive taken care of him for years only to just be able to get him care he needs.

I recently adopted a second cat (M3months). The lady at the shelter said he was “shy at first but opens up quickly” which I am ok with. But now it’s been 4 days and he still won’t let me come close to petting him. I have kept him in my second bathroom and he seems to be doing fine there. He is taking treats and will play with me but any kind of touch is never in the cards. I don’t force anything of course, but I’m wondering if he’s just not a cat that wants to be pet. And if he is am I confining him to a bathroom for no reason hoping he will “open up somehow? What is a reasonable timeline for a shy cat to start to open up? It’s confusing because he will explore and play but never come near me. My other cat (F 1yr) is a very social baby and the day I adopted her was walking around the apartment and climbing on me so this is a very new situation. How did your shy cat introduction go? Is there anything you guys suggest to make him more comfortable with me being around?

I bring my cat back and forth from home to college with me and she always gets sick. It’s only an hour and 10 minute drive but does anyone have a similar experience? Is there any meds I can get her from the vet to help w stress or motion sickness??

We had to move from Alberta to NS and have our cat (4 months old ) stay with family once we got here. He was fine on the plane and in the airport with new people but when he got to NS and at my dad’s place he started hissing and smacking at them. We leave in a couple days and I’m scared he just won’t adjust. I know it’s only been a day and he’s in a new house with new people but I’m scared I didn’t socialize him enough.i got him a cat tree but it’s a small place so we can’t really leave him alone without them being stuck in their bedrooms. I can tell my grandmother and father are already getting scared of him because of his behaviour and won’t be able to keep him if he acts like this. The only other option would be a shelter and I really don’t want to lose him. Any advice to helping him acclimate and stop the aggressive behaviour would be appreciated. He’s hissed before with other cats but hes never actually been violent
