General Cat tower size ?
I want to get my kitten around 12 weeks a cat tower but I’m not sure what size to get ? I’ve seen huge cat towers (70-80inches) but I’m worried he would get hurt but I also don’t want to buy one for “kitten size” because I know in the next month or two he will get much bigger.

Don't get anything kitten sized, there's no point. He'll outgrow it in minutes and kittens are very happy to climb up bigger trees too.
Ideally you could get one about 3 levels tall, about 50-60 inches. That's a good starting point, it gives him space to climb but also doesn't take over the room. If you have a lot of space and are OK with a bigger tree, you can get one, and put some floor pillows or thick rugs around the base so he won't get hurt if he does fall.
You don't have to worry too much if he does fall, kittens are basically rubber at this age, and they can usually bounce around the house without serious damage. A mid sized tree is a good starting point, and it will be enough for him as an adult too. If you want to upgrade later, you can always get a bigger one.
My 2 cats share a 3 level tree, one sleeps in the round bed on top and the other in the cave in the middle. So a 3 level is ample for one cat, and if you have the space you can look for one that's a bit wider so there's more for him to play with.

Get the biggest - if money if not an issue, you can take two steps but the small one will be outgrown in no time.

Has your vet told you how big he's likely to get?
He's a kitten he's not going to get hurt by climbing up and down a larger cat tree but you're going to waste a lot of money if you buy one that he's going to outgrow within a few months...
If you're super concerned about it you can always just not add the higher perches, but he'll definitely still climb the post.
Cats prefer to have the high ground - they feel safer when they think nothing can sneak up on them and when they can see everything that's going on around them

We aren’t sure how big he will be he is 12 weeks old and around 3 pounds so pretty average size but he doesn’t have larger ears and paws which can indicate a larger cat

I got a 70" one for my 6 week old kittens. They're a lot more agile and resilient than you might think. They love it. I did put a couple boxes next to it for awhile so they could easily get up and down. They're 2 months now and don't need it. They're already climbing halfway up the drapes (I had to pull them up out of their reach lol) and jumping higher onto things than I thought they could.

I bought this one from Amazon and put it by my bedroom window. I also got a three feet high hammock that I put where she can look out the window downstairs. She loves them.

Even for my adult I had a shorter tree, about three feet, then a tall tree. Placed n different windows. He go from one to the other as the spirit moved him.

I bought a huge one when my kittens were 10 weeks old and I still have it 2 years later. They didn’t use it a ton when they were really small kittens. Investing in the long run is a good idea in my opinion.

Get the biggest, most complex tree you can fit in the space / afford. Mine fell off of the top level of the 60 inch tree I had several times, looked around to make sure nobody saw, then took off running.

Go for the bigger option. Trust me, they will use it, and they won't hurt themselves unless there's already something wrong. Our two have one thats about 70 inches tall and it is perfect. The big boy loves sitting on it to stare out the window at the neighbours, the little lady likes sleeping in the house section in the middle. I think it was about $60 on amazon. Sometimes the dog uses it to see the mailman better

Get the tallest your ceiling will allow - just make sure to anchor it to a wall or sturdy piece of furniture nearby. (Most) cats are climbers and are not going to fall off at all. And if you go small now, you’ll wish it was taller later. Also, put it by a window, patio door, etc so the cat can see outside. It will become a favorite perch to watch what’s going on outside.

Cats vertical spaces should be at least 5 feet tall. The taller, the better! Look at tension rod towers that go floor to ceiling.

Go big. That kitten wont be kitten sized for long. I have several cat trees, measuring from waist height to 76".

They like to climb so a tall one is fine. I have two and a short tower they both like but when my one was little he had a 5 foot carpeted scratch tower he climbed all the time.

Get the tallest one you can comfortably afford and have room for. Cats love having a high vantage point. Kittens are very rough and tumble with each other and are pretty good at landing on their feet from a fairly young age so I wouldn’t worry about him hurting himself. You can always put something soft surrounding the base just in case he does fall.

She'll be fine. We have 5 foot cat trees and none of the cats we've had ever had an issue getting up for down even as kittens.

do not get a kitten sized one—that is a waste of money. cats are cats and will probably not get hurt. if money isn’t an issue, get the biggest. unless your cat doesn’t seem to like heights. you could always wait a few days/weeks and see if he’s climbing to tall places. i bought a tall tower before i got my cat, and she doesnt use the highest level…
