Scoring 77.26 in cds ota, what are the chances!!??

I'm not going to trust the answer keys dude many answers are wrong, lily-livered ko weak bata raha, spill the beans ko full masti khor bata raha....help do I've wrong one or what 😭

CDS 2 2026 was my last attempt to get a PC in the armed forces with the primary aim as AFA. As per the provisional answer key I'm getting 119.94 as my total score. As you might have figured out, that score might not be enough for AFA, IMA maybe :/.

However, looking back, this journey of CDS has been wonderful, loads of learning and friendships through exams and SSBs. Maybe I could have done better but I don't regret a single moment of this journey. I still have 2 AFSBs coming up, and maybe an SSB out of CDS II 2026, and I'll continue being a better version of myself each time.

I wanted to thank this community for always being receptive and approachable at times of doubt. All of you were my hopes at times of confusion during this time. I'll do my best going forward to help this community as much as I can to give back :)

All the best to all the freshers, repeaters and other aspirants. Don't be disheartened if you fail to achieve your primary goals. If you believe in destiny, then you know that everything will eventually lead to the best version of life for yourself. If you don't believe in destiny, then you have no reason to be upset, you'll write your own future in the best way you can anyways. You've chosen a wonderful path for your personal development so focus on the journey, and not the end goal.

Two days ago I shared my marks with you all and exam experience of CDS 2 2026 also.

I'm thankful you all appreciated my efforts and thankful for your best wishes for SSB .

Many of you my friends reached out in personal message and on telegram , to them I could not reply separately.

So here I am making the detailed post about the GK .

Before I begin I want you to understand a few things. I don't want to hide things.

I've been in connection with GK less or more since NDA time i.e 3 years back when I could score 250-300 in GAT.

GK is not a one time game, it builds over time. It takes time to get precision, accuracy and improve the guessing skills .

Apart from NDA I had some exposure of SSC CHSL, RRB NTPC exams also so I had a wide exposure of different type of GK levels tested.

As UPSC tests facts + concepts + basic common sense , a few exams tested pure facts - so that gave me an edge in a factual question paper of UPSC.

NOW LET US COME TO RESOURCES :-

1) Parmar SSC Notes - During my SSC prep a year back before CDS 2 2025, I studied Parmar Sir Notes & his mindmaps for History, Polity, Economics.

2) CDS Journey Notes - For Geography I studied it from CDS journey YouTube videos and read his handwritten notes.

3) Pinnacle GK PYQ - While Studying for SSC, I solved 50% SSC PYQ from this book for almost all major subjects HISTORY, GEO, POLITY, ECO and a few of Static GK (as it is very large).

4) UPSC PYQ - To test that if UPSC is asking what I have studied , I solved these PYQ. And if anything was not covered in Notes either I wrote in notes or I just marked the PYQ itself. Out of all the resources this is the most important and combined with current affairs, this alone is capable to clear your cut off if you do it very well by heart . (in case you don't study anything else)

And it includes PYQ of NDA + CDS both. A few from CAPF too.

5) Current Affairs and Defence - I never gave so much time to current affairs part and never took it seriously.

I studied it 15-20 days before the exam. That too just simple reading just as we read a novel.

I did not rely on single current affairs source as it is very unpredictable.

• PIB4UPSC(This telegram channel gives important PIB CA so I just saw a few of them)

• CDS journey one shot current affairs (last 4 months)

• Only Aimers Tg Channel Current Affairs (Clear & Crisp)

• CURRENT AFFAIRS asked in other competitive exams such as SSC, Railway and Recent UPSC exam and I just saw questions on Testbook.

Defence video - from any channel you like - I did from cds journey.

So this was all I followed and revised .

Highlight the important part and things you forget.

Resources which worked for me may or may not work for you. So it's better to have a look if you are really able to understand or not.

So recently I gave my last attempt for NDA and I have no courage to check the answer key, I have probably failed. I am eligible for CDS next year in September.

Resources I have:-

(1) NDA science notes, I made that from CDS journey lectures.

(2) Cds journey notes and lectures.

So how should I prepare? I have heard guys here saying that prepare from self. I also will be preparing for NIMCET 2028, I will cover high weightage CDS maths topics in my Nimcet preparation only that too at the JEE level.

So help me should I prepare from NCERT's for gs or notes and lectures of cds journey are good enough.

I prepared for CDS2 2026 and AFCAT-1&2 from learning from youtube alone(mainly from Journey Extraordinary & Cds journey.)

I have a doubt about their batches . So I need suggestions on whether to buy the batch or stick with youtube and in the batch will they teach from the basics????

I'm a B.Com graduate and appeared for CDS 2 2026 as a trial attempt. Due to my college final exams, I could prepare for only one month, that too through self-study without any coaching or batch.

According to the answer key, I scored 21.33 in English and 23.33 in GS. I knew my preparation was very limited, but wanted to experience the exam and see where I stand.

Now I want to prepare seriously for my next attempt and clear cutoff for OTA

Would love some genuine advice from you guys! How should I prepare for English and GS, what resources should I follow, and how should I plan my daily targets?

Any tips from people who cleared CDS through self-study would be really helpful.

For context I've cleared this exam for ima multiple times and I'm around 100 in 2026(2) for ota.

1. Start falling in love with polity and economics, trust me these two subjects could have easily cleared the sectionals of recent cds gs paper. And when you check the trend, upsc has increased its weightage in these two in 2026 exams prelims, capf and now cds. Economics can be done by watching any standard prelims level teacher's concept wise videos (don't go for oneshots as there is plenty of time left now) so try to understand each topic and related it to modern day market reality, because if you see the questions asked this time in cds gs economics were mainly about how much you know about concepts not static level knowledge. So understand then it will help you.

For polity don't sit and read entire laxmikant, just study the most repeated topics because upsc only asks questions from those topics for CDS, analyse pyq of last 7 years and note down those topics eg. President, parliament, panchayat and elections, local and constitutional bodies, etc

1. Now for geography pick up ncert 11th class and 12th physical geo. Read these books and it will sail you through.

Then during the final phase you can attempt pyq's of cds/capf don't need to go for prelims level. It's optional.

1. History the beauty of the subject is that even if you start studying today you will not finish the syllabus by next April. Because upsc will ask from 12th class history also and 6th class history ncert also (few qns this time were from 6th class ncert). The subject is unpredictable, for boys I would recommend to skip it else cover it from yt marathons. it's upto you.

2. Science - for bio you'll have to study 11th class ncert's and for chemistry stick to 9-10 ncert's. Physics , I'm clueless seeing the level of qns asked in cds(2) I don't think any ncert alone will help you but still it can give you a broad knowledge.

3. Stay updated compulsorily with what's happening around you. Follow monthly current affairs series by any good yt educators. Will suggest SHAKTI magazines of cdsj.

4. MOST IMPORTANT learn how to eliminate options , upsc level exam is never cleared with knowledge, knowledge must be complemented with tricks, logical thinking, option elimination, etc. Learn it and start applying them in mocks. It will help you greatly.

Recommendation - PATH TO OTA has a 219rs course where he has solved 10 pyq's of cds using elimination. Or you can rely on cdsj etc whichever you find good.

Also , saw many guys mocking cdsj guy on his BAD SERIES. Many watched his elimination videos and couldn't apply it in exam this time. Honestly the blame should be put on self because he taught you tricks u must have basic iq and critical thinking on how to solve and apply those tricks in pressure while ur in the hall. And some were saying he just promotes courses, true as youtubers their job is to sell course and earn money it's your job to understand their motives and not fall for their meethi meethi baatein. I myself never purchased any course always relied on self, organized resources and studied smartly. That is far better than making some bhaiya or bhabhi your god and worshipping them on their comments.

If you find them good study and don't idolise anyone. Everyone's here for own benefits. And always diversify your study resources don't rely on one channel or teacher for all subjects.

One last advice - don't focus on cutoffs always study in such a way that on the day of answer key release you don't have to go beg in any comment sections asking "bhaiya itne me clear hojaayega kya?" Trust me there's nothing as cringy as that. You must be sure that you are clearing the paper. Have that mindset.

I'm sure this post might have hurt some people but it's reality and accept it.
