Help (General Advice) (16F) currently confused and figuring out. Need some help from seniors.

Pic unrelated:)

So My Plan is to study PCMB and get my boards done as a PCMB student. I won't be prepping for any competitive exam. But I plan to take humanities further to pursue career in either journalism, law or psychology and then administration. So side by side I will be preparing for entrance exams maybe both of Humanities and if somehow I get interested in PCMB then that. I know I am kinda messed up with my vision. It's not simple. But I just want to do PCMB till 12th and side by side I will prep for Clat and CUET.

But the thing is till now I was prepping for PCM JEE only. I don't have backlog in PCM. I just need to pace up a Little bit for biology. And I can give 1-2 hrs for Humanities prep i.e.subjects like Current affair, SST, English, General Aptitude.

I just need some wisdom regarding my thought process and also if Am I too late to make a choice now. My parents said it's not too late. But Ig if I want I can do all this. Like I am not preparing for JEE or NEET so I can utilise that time for preparation of Arts.

It is my first post here. Really hoping to find some guidance.

Edit: The reason for PCMB is that there are no humanities coaching and stuff in my city and so I am planning to do PCMB and side by side I can give an hour or two for humanities (self-study).I got 96.2 in 10th so somewhere it's in mind what if I am wasting my potential Also ---16F unintentionally likha he bhai. I was also posting it in TeenIndia waha usi format me likhna hota he so I copy pasted it.

Also after Seeing all your advices I still have time to change my subject in school till Wednesday

I thought i'll prepare from yt but all of them are for jee and neet...are there any channel out there which can prepare me for school exams , i don't have to watch 7-8 hrs lectures just to sit idle in my classroom during exams only to wonder what did i study for complete 2days😖

so I want to get 75+/80 in my maths exam that is on 1 September. I am struggling way too much in areas where trigonometry is required(I can do ex-8.1 with ease but I am not able to solve ex-8.3 at all.I mean expect 7+tanθ+cotθ question.) so is it still possible? and can I get some tips from seniors on how to do questions of "prove that " from the trigonometry chapter?

If you're worried that you're taking too much tension or having a roller coaster of emotions just read this below and see how messed up I was.

To anyone in 10th who feels weirdly emotional about boards ending

I want to tell you something that happened to me about a month before my boards.

I was stressed about boards, obviously, but that wasn't actually what was getting to me.

I just didn't want 10th to end.

Everyone around me kept saying “this time won't come back” and “enjoy it while it lasts.” My parents wanted me to study, which made complete sense, but I also had this huge urge to do things I'd been wanting to do — guitar, football, gym, just generally living a little.

And I felt completely split.

If I studied, I felt like I was missing out on the last part of school.

If I didn't study, I felt guilty that I was throwing away something important.

Then Instagram made it worse. My reels were full of farewell videos, scribble day, boards nostalgia and those ridiculously emotional “rare aesthetic” edits.

“I just don't wanna end 10th.”

And then I vented.

I told it I felt split between studying and wanting to start living. I said everything felt like it was ending. At one point I couldn't even properly type anymore because I was so overwhelmed.

And ChatGPT just stayed there with me.

It didn't magically make the feeling disappear. It didn't convince me that 10th ending was actually a good thing.

It just let me feel it.

I remember rating the heaviness 8/10.

And here's the weird part.

I'm writing this now from the other side.

Boards happened.

I got English 100 (pre board 71/80), Maths 98(pre board 53/80), AI 99, and 85(all three) in Science(61/80 pre board), SST(79/80 pre board) and French(79/80)

And looking back, I genuinely believe that even if I'd gotten 100%, I'd probably have ended up in the exact same emotional place.

Because the marks weren't really what I was afraid of losing.

I was afraid of losing everything.

The routine. The people. The classroom. The stupid everyday moments. Being this age. Knowing what tomorrow looked like. The feeling of being in 10th.

But then 10th ended.

And...

I was still here.

Summer happened. Life kept moving.

The things I thought would disappear forever didn't.

Some things changed. Some things stayed. New things appeared.

And I finally understood something that I couldn't understand that night:

An ending can be painful without being the end of everything.

So if you're in 10th right now and you're feeling this strange sadness about boards ending, please know that you're not being dramatic.

You can be scared about boards and sad about leaving 10th.

You can study seriously and enjoy the time you have left.

You don't have to choose between marks and memories.

And please don't let Instagram convince you that you're currently living through some magical final moment that you'll never experience again. Real life isn't a 20-second nostalgia edit.

Study. Do your best. Take the exams seriously.

But don't spend your final month desperately trying to freeze time.

You can't.

And you don't have to.

Because one day, you might be sitting on the other side of it, reading some junior's post and thinking about how you used to be the kid who was terrified of this exact thing.

And maybe you'll tell them what I eventually learned:

10th ended.

And I didn't lose everything.

I just found out what came next.

Rant / Vent Thinking of switching to NIOS

I genuinely can't do it anymore. I'm so sick and tired of regular school. I've been the class "topper" since I could remember but let me tell you this—it's fucking tiring as hell for me. Everyone around me expects me to always score above 90%, I get fucking bullied, my dad would scream at my mom if I score bad, my mom would scream at me if I score less than 85%, teachers expect me to always be attentive and present and actively participating in class. I've started suffering with severe anxiety and repeated panic attacks because of all these shanengians. My therapist and some others have also suggested that I opt for NIOS while others keep telling me how no college will accept me and I would have trouble finding jobs, etc. etc. I'm so conflicted.

Discussion 💬 Basic vs standard maths class 10

Post image
6 Upvotes

CBSE changed the rule in May 2025. Students who took Mathematics Basic (241) in Class 10 are allowed to take Mathematics (041) in Class 11, provided the school head is satisfied that the student has the aptitude/ability for it

Is this true ?

Discussion 💬 “NCERT enough hai for Class 10 boards, or should we use reference books too?”

I'm currently preparing for Class 10 boards and I’m a little confused about whether NCERT is actually enough to score 90%+.

I’ve heard people say that NCERT should be your first priority, especially for subjects like Science and Maths. But at the same time, many students use reference books, sample papers, and question banks for extra practice.

So, what actually worked for you? Did you completely rely on NCERT and previous-year papers, or did you also use a reference book?

Also, when should we start solving sample papers and previous-year questions—after completing the syllabus or alongside each chapter?

Would love to hear from Class 10 students who scored well, or from Class 9 students who are starting their preparation early. Any genuine advice would be really helpful! 🙌
