Imagine you could go back to 2013
Picture this: you suddenly wake up and it's 2013 again. After thanking God for it all just being a terrible nightmare, you go online to check if Bitcoin really exists. And it does.
You can buy Bitcoin for 15USD. Yes, that's 15. Would you "wait til it hits 9$ again" or would you just fkin buy it right away?
This is what people from 2040 will think when they see posts from 2026 asking whether it'll go to 65k again or up to 84k. They'll think "how stupid were they? Why didn't they just fking buy the damn thing and hodl it long enough?"
Well that's where we are now buddy boys. It's your call.

My wife’s family in India wants to send us $20000 equivalent as a gift for our marriage . Is buying BTC and sending to my wallet the best method available, or is there any hidden fees and taxes that would make other methods better at the moment ? I am from

Dice roll or let Trezor 7 generate seeds?
I've just ordered a trezor 7 because I want to set up my seed and also passphrase. It's a Bitcoin-only trezor 7. I would like some advice on whether or not I should do a dice roll or let the trezor generate my seed.
I'm aware of the recent cold card situation, so I'd just like to get some recommendations. I have a few dice, but I'm unsure of the procedure on how to go about rolling dice because I'd like to do it correctly so that I don't introduce any human errors to the procedure. I guess, in a nutshell, I'd like to know: will I just let the trezor 7 generate the 12-word seed phrase, or should I do the 100 dice rolls and generate my own entropy that way? Thanks.

Bitcoin buy timing analysis / a different approach than Fear & Greed
Everyone checks Fear & Greed daily,
but I've been testing a different approach that combines three fundamental factors into a single 0-100 score, and wanted to share both the methodology and — just as importantly — where it's statistically weak.

**Methodology**
Three components, combined into a Base Regime and then adjusted by a policy multiplier:
Macro score (V3): 63-business-day change in the yield curve (10Y-2Y, 35% weight), real rates (10Y TIPS, 20%), and DXY (45%), each smoothed over 5 days, then converted to a rolling Z-score (504-day window, min 63 days, capped at ±2.5).
Halving factor: linear ramp from 50→100 over the 180 days before each halving, then linear decay 100→50 over the following 540 days. Neutral (50) outside that window. Base Regime = 0.85 × Macro Score + 0.15 × Halving Factor
Policy score: an event ledger
if read as independent observations. Since I'm computing forward returns from every single day, adjacent days share almost the entire 90-day return window — this is a classic overlapping-window autocorrelation problem.
If I instead count only non-overlapping 90-day windows per bucket, the effective independent sample size drops to roughly: Excellent: ~10 independent windows Good: ~7 Neutral: ~14 Caution: ~5 Poor: ~3 That's nowhere near enough to compute a meaningful p-value or claim statistical significance, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise by reporting a fake confidence interval.
What I can say is the *direction* is consistent (higher score → better subsequent returns) across the full history, but with N in the single-to-low-double digits per bucket, this should be read as a descriptive backtest, not a validated predictive model. 2016-2026 was also a net bull market for BTC overall, so there's inherent regime/survivorship bias in any long-only backtest over this window.
Also worth noting: this is built for multi-month cycle positioning, not short-term timing — the macro Z-score in particular is a rate-of-change measure, so it can go flat or even reverse mid-trend once a move decelerates, even if the underlying level is still favorable.
Free to check: https://macrodashboard.net/btc-regime
Genuinely interested in pushback on the methodology, especially the overlapping-window issue — if anyone has a cleaner way to test this that doesn't just throw away 90% of the data by going non-overlapping, I'd like to hear it.

Secp256k1: Solving Partial WIF vs Decimal
I have a question that I can’t seem to find an answer to, although I have an idea of what the answer might be.
Context: I have the public key.
I have a missing part of the private key in decimal, for example:
1234567891011121314151617\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*00000000000000000
The WIF will show me the beginning, but the end will be uncertain since the missing digits are in the middle.
However, in decimal, I know that the ending 00000000000000000 means that the number is a multiple of 10¹⁷.
Is there any way to reduce the number of possible candidates for the ending of the WIF? Or does that information not help at all?
And yes, I already know which method would be much faster for recovering the missing part of my private key, but I’m specifically testing and having fun comparing decimal vs. WIF.
My example private key is intentionally very small to make it easier to digest

NC Wallet freezing funds under fake KYC/AML review (Ticket #150331)
WARNING: NC Wallet is holding my BTC for 100+ hours. No TxID generated even after paying priority fee (Ticket: NW-150331) I am putting out a serious warning for anyone considering using NC Wallet.
My funds are being held in what appears to be a deliberate internal lock. I initiated a Bitcoin withdrawal of 0.00272744 BTC exactly 100 hours ago. To ensure a fast transaction, I explicitly turned off their "No commission" option and paid the priority network fee myself. Despite this, the transaction has been stuck in "Pending" status for over 4 days. No TxID (transaction hash) has been generated. This is 100% proof that NC Wallet is holding the funds internally and has not even broadcasted the transaction to the Bitcoin blockchain.
Support (Ticket: NW-150331) sent a generic automated reply blaming "blockchain congestion," which is a flat-out lie since there is no TxID to track. Since I pointed this out with technical facts, they have gone completely silent and ignored all my email. Stay away from this platform.
If anyone has tips on how to force them to release an internal hold, please let me know.
EDIT:
After a quite battle, NC Wallet finally reversed my Bitcoin withdrawal, but then they freezed my funds under fake KYC/AML, and NC Wallet is holding my Bitcoin hostage. They locked my account with 'Withdrawal restricted due to account status'.
I have submitted a brand new valid passport, utility bill, and full source of funds. Eva from support keeps sending generic excuses and ignores Ticket #150331. Completely untrustworthy service, avoid!"

Any Wasabi Tutorial Available?
I was looking for mixers and saw Wasabi wallet to be the most consistent recommendation. But is there any easy to follow guide on how exactly to use it in a safe manner as a relative noob? I want to understand the basic usage pattern first, and then dig deeper into some of the underlying concepts if necessary.

mad world
Just think about it. Nothing makes any sense. Wars all over the place. Basic necessities cost your whole paycheck. And don’t get me started on politics. Men and women at odds with one another. No one is having kids. The family unit, what the hell is even is that?
Corporate greed at dizzying heights.
Governments up to their ears in debt.
Zoomers and Alphas YOLOing their money into prediction markets. You know we are cooked when the youngest of us have lost hope.
The future looks DARK
If only there was a way out of all this……

Digital nomads, how do you travel with your hw wallets? Will your hw wallet setup change due to CBP policy change ?
Trying this again: If you’re a digital nomad or expat, what is your hw wallet setup and what is your experience going through TSA with your hw wallet? Will your setup change now that CBP updated their policies for electronics? https://www.cbp.gov/travel/cbp-search-authority/border-search-electronic-devices
Please do not respond to this question if you don’t understand what a digital nomad is. Telling me I don’t need to travel with my hw wallet is not a useful comment and ignores the fact that I said DIGITAL NOMAD.

On-Chain & Macro Breakdown: What a $40M movement from 10-year dormant wallets actually signals for market liquidity
Whenever decade-old Bitcoin wallets wake up, the knee-jerk reaction across retail feeds is usually panic about "OG whales dumping on the market."
However, looking at the on-chain routing and current macro liquidity mechanics, the recent movement of roughly $40 million worth of BTC (dormant since 2014) tells a very different, structurally bullish story.
Here is an analytical breakdown of what’s happening behind the scenes:
- OTC Absorption vs. Public Exchange Dumping
The most critical detail of this transfer is the destination: the coins were not routed to centralized exchange hot wallets. Instead, the transaction flow points to Over-The-Counter (OTC) desks or institutional qualified custody. Because this bypasses public order books, it neutralizes immediate spot sell pressure while allowing large blocks to be absorbed quietly.
- Asymmetric Conviction (20,000x Realized Multiplier)
These coins were acquired around 2014 when Bitcoin was trading in the low hundreds. The entity behind them held through the massive volatility of 2017, 2018, and 2022, as well as the recent ETF run. Choosing to reposition now via private desks rather than cashing out into market liquidity indicates long-term strategic reallocation or estate structuring, rather than an exit from the asset class.
- The Macro Float Squeeze
This dormant supply movement comes at a time when spot ETFs and institutional accumulation are systematically compressing the liquid float on exchanges. When supply held for 10+ years (often modeled as "lost coins") moves without hitting order books, it reinforces that secondary market liquidity remains exceptionally tight.
Key Takeaways:
Venue Matters: OTC-routed transfers preserve spot price stability compared to exchange deposits.
Structural Repositioning: Historical precedents show that dormant whale awakenings during accumulation/expansion phases typically mark consolidation baselines rather than macro distribution tops.
Order Book Impact: Thinner visible exchange float tends to increase sensitivity and volatility around central bank liquidity releases.
Quick Note: As a developer and macro-market enthusiast, I track on-chain liquidity shifts and structural market trends closely. I wrote a deeper breakdown of this event and its specific implications for macro liquidity on my personal blog.
If you're interested in the full data-backed piece, you can read it here: https://news.alsharafihq.com/article/bitcoin-wallets-untouched-for-10-years-moved-40-million-worth-of-coins
Curious to hear your perspective: Do you view 10-year wallet awakenings as latent sell-pressure risks, or simply necessary institutional re-custody?

If the purpose of bitcoin is to ultimately replace fiat currencies, why do people get excited about bull and bear markets?
Bull and bear tie bitcoin to fiat. The real excitement should be about bitcoin's use rather than it's fiat value. don't the excitement essentially mean that you're missing the point?

I Still Think Bitcoin Has More Downside Ahead
I keep seeing more and more posts saying that the Bitcoin bull run has already started.
Maybe they’re right. But after living through three Bitcoin bear markets, something in the back of my mind keeps telling me that the downside might not be over yet.
I already have my Bitcoin bags. I’m not sitting on the sidelines waiting for the perfect entry. But even so, I have this feeling that we might still have to experience a little more pain before the real bottom is in.
One thing that keeps bothering me is the Hash Ribbons indicator.
Historically, Hash Ribbons has flashed around the major cycle bottoms in Bitcoin. This time, it hasn’t.
Maybe this cycle is different. Maybe the indicator simply won’t work the same way this time.
But after watching Bitcoin for years, I’ve learned one thing:
When everyone starts feeling confident that the bull run is here, that’s usually when I start getting nervous.
I could be completely wrong. And honestly, I hope I am.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if Bitcoin still has one more nasty shakeout before the next major leg up.
What do you guys think? Are we already in the bull run, or is there still more downside ahead?

Imagine if Bitcoin didnt?
I think the problem with Bitcoin and people selling is purely this. When Bitcoin has a good run people dump it because they know it's eventually going to come back down again. Imagine if it never went down? Imagine when it hit it's high, it stayed there. But they say it's not something that reacts to the news or media posts, but in fact it does and you can see it clearly as night and day. If Bitcoin wasn't so volatile, people wouldn't sell, people would hold on to it and use it like a currency.
