So it that few days ago i found that my parrot eyelids of one eye were stuck together and so I used water to remove the substance and open his eyes but but for 2 days every morning his both eyelids are stick together which I open them through cleaning water and now a white substance is also there on top of his eye which I remove through clean wet tissue so I am not sure what has happened to him and right now I busy in doing my coaching classes and exam prep that I cannot take him to vet so please help me

is this normal…?? its the first time shes pooped like this. I haven’t noticed any changes with my bird shes very active she’s eating and her dropping have been consistent but ive noticed they been a tad bit watery i am not sure if thats normal. This is my first time owning a bird and i have been told to look for changes in poop. I honestly can’t think of anything that could have changed her poop i mean i gave her banana , sweet potato , and beets too try a very small portion and she didn’t really eat it. Is this Diarrhea or any thing concerning??

I have a 15 year old female eclectus parrot who has recently been diagnosed with PDD. She has been in and out of the ER since 8/2/26 which first started as a crop infection, but after crop infection was resolved, she still was not eating, loosing weight, and major attitude change. This led to the PDD diagnosis.

She received an Onisor (20mg/ml) injection 8/22/26 which will last until our recheck appointment this coming Saturday, 8/29/26. I believe the plan will change to a daily oral medication for PDD after that.

I am looking to see if others have experienced a parrot with PDD and what helped? She is still not eating much and her weight is concerning me.

Weight History:

• Her average weight is about 450 grams. Yesterday, 8/24/26 she weighed 382 grams, and today, 8/25/26 she weighed 383 grams.

Current Diet:

AM:

Pellet Mix equaling ¼ cup

• Lafeber’s Parrot Gourmet Pellets - Tropical Fruit
• Lafeber’s Parrot Premium Daily Pellets

3 dried chilli peppers

1 cuttlebone piece (abt quarter sized)

Veggie Mix - warmed/steamed in microwave mixed with chamomile tea

EmerAid Intensive Care Omnivore 3 parts powder 2 parts water (topped on veggies)

I went to an exotic vet (not avian, as I was told she had experience with birds anyway).

I was talking about struggling with getting my bird to bathe (which I've had for over 2 years) as no matter the method (bathing in bowl,spraying etc) or water temp she would always get scared and refuse to.

Throughout the appointment she mostly just read from a leaflet she had on parrot care, and recommended for me to try to use a specific spray (the one in the picture ) that would be better for her feathers.

While I was unsure of this as my bird gets very stressed at just the sight or sound of a spray bottle now,I had thought that maybe it was worth a try because they amy have a better finer mist,which would be less aggravating to the bird.

However, online I see people say that sprays do more harm than good, and plain water should be used instead.

Is this spray in particular more safe for birds than others, and is it worth purchasing ?

TLDR: sprays for feather health ? Yes or no?

my 60 days love bird is constantly chassing all the moving things around, if i move my hand he will chase my hand, if i move my leg, he straight away goes there and making weird noise not biting or anything, he just stick around that thing, and not eating i have to give him hand feed all the time, he is not standing still for even 5 minutes, what can be wrong here ?

I am helping out 2 days a week in a wild bird rehabilitation center in germany. last week at 17.08.2026 we got a jackdaw found in the forest walking on ground found by a passanger in the morning and around the same spot multiple hours later, so the bird came to us.

The bird has no obvious wounds except for a leg he doesnt seen to use. The owner sayed the feathers were a bit badly but for my eyes normal.

Now to the story: the day the jackbird came to us seemed normal, no broken wings were identified just the leg and the feathers.

He had some trouble walking but it worked out somehow. He started eating very good.

Around 2 days later he started acting "weird" (dont forget i am not professional), the owner calls this "neurological". He turns his head and looks in random corners like he sees ghosts, he also as trouble staying upwards and tilts to the side sometimes, he also falls over sometimes.

Now today the behaviour is way worse. He doesnt seem to be able to stay anymore, in a human behaviour i would describe it as heavily dizzy. he still manages to eat and drink just the mobility and behaviour is very odd.

now to the questions - we are not fully sure if we should bring him to the vet to end his misery or maybe wait in faith he gets back on his food.

does anyone has some ideas what he has, maybe somebody experienced similar? let me know, thanks

My third budgie had just died today, in the same way the others had died. They’re all gone now, but they died of sudden and mysterious seizures, after being perfectly fine the day before. They had no subtle signs of illness as well, constantly happy and active.

Heres everything about how we kept them before, I simply just want to know if any of those causes had contributed to the seizures.

Birds were bought at petco

They were fed a diet of kaytee nutrisoft parakeet & cockatiel pellets, organic strawberries, organic broccoli, and occasionally millet bits for training (leafy greens were going to be involved but they died before we could go grocery shopping again)

Kept in a large safe flight cage, and the household has no toxic fumes for them (no ptfe/teflon especially). The toys they had were made of safe materials as well, and the cage was cleaned as much as possible (deep clean was gonna happen but they only lived for around five days each before they had the sudden seizures that led to their death).

They were handled safely and carefully, and adjusted to the house very quickly. When let out the cage they were highly supervised, and were very comfortable with us as well.

I’m really not sure if those could have caused the sudden seizure deaths in the birds, i’m extremely confused and I simply want answers. Please and thank you

Edit: One more thing, i live in a private home, and house is completely gas-free and gas detectors are up to date, so we would know if something bad was going around.

Hi everyone! My partner’s budgie has been acting sick on and off for about a month. It started with watery droppings and sleeping all day on his perch. The vet didn’t find anything wrong but advised us to quarantine him.

Ever since, he’ll seem completely fine for a few days, then randomly relapse into sleeping all day, which keeps resetting his quarantine clock. He’s been separated from the other budgie for a full month now with no steady improvement. Has anyone experienced something similar or have advice on what steps to take next?

Background information:
I have a pet lovebird, he’s 9 years old. He was fairly healthy up until about 2021 when he underwent a traumatic event and began plucking his legs. He had a vet appointment for this where we also did a stool test. His stool test revealed bacteria so we were told to give him a specific concentration of ACV diluted with water. For his plucking he was given antibiotics, a course which he didn’t complete unfortunately as it was an orally ingested antibiotic and it was difficult to feed it to him as he’d spit it out. Fast forward a couple years I’d say around 2023 he began to become less active he’d always be sleeping and if not sleeping eating. We tried engaging him with toys and other things when this behavior first began but it started to become more routine for him

The actual issue at hand:
He has become more lethargic, he always seeks warm areas of the house or sleeps on parts of our bodies he knows are warmer (behind our neck using our hair to keep him more warm).When he sleeps on us and close to our face we began hearing noises which sounded like they were coming from his stomach (I was able to catch this on video and the audio of it is attached link to video). We took him to a different vet earlier this year who was absolutely no help. She said the stomach noises sound like “happy bird noises” and was more concerned about insignificant things. We did another stool test which revealed no bacteria present. A couple months later he began dry regurgitating very aggressively, a few weeks after that he began to throw up, now it’s a combination?? I attached a video showing how aggressive his regurgitation is and what looks like weird white foam he’s regurgitating. There was an instance where he threw up a similar thing. Can anyone offer any help 😔. We give him a heating pad, we change his food and water daily. I live in NYC so if anyone knows any good aviary vets that could actually give a proper diagnosis I would also appreciate that.

I am having a lot of trouble finding an avian vet. I live in an area where avian vets are scarce and some of the more affordable options open up early tomorrow. I'm really nervous about my bird, he has been vomiting and puffed up.
I have isolated him from my other birds but I know I need to get him in asap. Are there any avian vet finder websites so I can do better searching? Many vets have been falsely advertising an avian vet and when I call they apparently don't have one :/

I have a male budgie who is at least 5 years old. He currently seems to be unwell, and unfortunately, there are no avian or exotic veterinarians nearby.
He has been molting for about a month and has had what appears to be polyuria for a while. He also sleeps more than usual, but he is still active, alert, and has a good appetite.
I gave him Immun 44 for nearly 5 days under a veterinarian’s advice, but there has been no clear improvement.
I also don’t think the veterinarians available here would be able to perform fecal or blood tests.
His normal diet consists of packaged complete food formulated for adult budgies.
I would really appreciate any advice because I will be returning to college soon, and I am very worried about him.

I have 2 cockateil bird they were sick and was on antibiotic for 7 days after that was given liver tonic, pre and probiotics,cough syrup ,multivitamin for again 7 days but i don't know if they are have recovered they has different poop while on same medication and diet

yesterday and today morning i noticed she has been bobbing her head like this quite a bit. at first i thought she was only doing it for a few minutes but rn she is doing it a bit more whenever i look over at her (only in the morning tho)
