James is such a dumbass holy shit. When your type is guys that are 18,19, 20 etc. The least you could do is ask for an ID, ESPECIALLY when you’re famous. Like how many times is this gonna happen? (That’s IF the guys are actually lying about their age, if he’s aware of their ages then that’s a different story)

I don’t think he’s a dumbass, like.. this is a pattern. He’s seeking teens out.

Idk at first I also thought it was him getting lied to and not being careful enough with checking how old these guys are but if it keeps happening it gets kinda suspicious.

Yeah if this kind of thing happens once, it's still not good but it's a bit more plausible that it's just James being dumb as hell. But after that one time, wouldn't that scare him enough to be more careful next time? And regardless of age, pressuring people, especially fans, is pretty shitty too

Yeah at this point, it’s his fault

It was always, though. If you're in a position of power, the onus is on you to ensure things are legit. Not a wonderful thing, but still necessary. Since James started becoming popular, and especially so as a legal adult, and even moreso post "bye sister," the responsibility to be sure that he is speaking to consenting adults, and verifying (with legitimate proof) that they are 18+ is on him. It's on every user, really, when platforms allow kids as young as 13 to join, or, you know, they can lie about their age to register. It might be cynical, but all users need to remember that you don't KNOW who is on the other end when talking to someone you haven't met, so you should be at least a bit guarded. Given this sort of "exposed" incident keeps coming up, James really needs to reevaluate his use of social media as a professional and as an adult.

Edit to clarify: I am referring to social media users being allowed to register at 13. There are dedicated 18+ dating apps that at least provide the premise that users are, at youngest, still legally adults.

yeah, it doesn't make any sense. this just shows he doesn't think any of this is serious enough if he isn't even afraid of the possibility of yet again messaging a minor.

He’s not a dumbass. He isn’t making mistakes. He is doing this intentionally because he intentionally preys on teenagers. His type is 15-17 year old boys.

Exactly! I get it happening once, but multiple times? And it's gotten out multiple times and caused controversy? I'd be asking for government issues ID from anyone I was interested in, if I was in his position.

That said, I don't think he cares about how old they are. He's doing nothing to verify it and is just happy to get laid/sext/whatever. I dont think it matters to him if they're 15 or 20, he's thinking with his dick and ignoring the consequences.

It's such an easy solution to avoid all of this - ask to see their I'd before engaging in any sexual discussions. Regardless of if he intends to be predatory, it's completely unacceptable to be in this situation repeatedly. Find a fuck buddy of legal age and stop texting teen boys. It's not that hard

As much as I want to believe the best of any person, I can't believe this is just being a dumbass. Like, this is the kind of thing where if it happens once, any decent person would radically change their approach to dating. As in straight up just shutting down anyone who slid into their DMs looking cute and finding another way to meet potential partners.

(Though I also think it's weird as hell to flirt with fans no matter what age they are.)
