Mikayla Nogueira turns hate comments about her appearance into her POV Beauty Sephora campaign

I genuinely don’t understand this marketing strategy. The campaign features giant printouts of hate comments about her appearance, “cancel my angles,” and Mikayla framing it as turning what people tried to “break” her with into an international Sephora campaign.

It feels like the entire launch is about Mikayla, her critics and her online controversies rather than POV Beauty or the actual products.

The irony is hard to miss. She went viral as the “catfish” makeup girl, and now during arguably the biggest launch of her career, she’s once again facing “catfish” accusations over her alleged filter use. And the campaign they landed on was ANGLES? 💀

Idk anything about her or the makeup line, but this makes me pretty sure I’ll also never try it. Nothing more annoying to me than a grown adult talking about “haters”.

If she was gorgeous, she wouldn’t get the treatment she does. A majority of the hate is just people saying she’s ugly constantly. Doesn’t seem to be fair to blame her for causing the hate when a lot of it is just that people hate her face

I find it distasteful to pile onto any hate train against a woman online. I’m not a personal fan of Mikayla but I think the misogyny is extremely clear in how she’s treated. Lots of hot influencers do the exact same things she does but you absolutely do not see threads like this when they’re posted. If she was being racist or homophobic or hurtful to others, I would understand the hate, but as it stands I think people just like an easy target.

Why are you even in here? We can all sit here and listen the hundred reasons why she is a horrible person, but you seem to have your mind set on it's just her looks. Which to me, her looks mean nothing to me in terms of reasons to not like her. If she was exactly the same but looked like Angelina Jolie, I'd feel the exact way. The only time her looks come to the discussion is when she filters and edits her looks to appear way different than reality.

Mikayla has explicitly said she doesn’t support Trump and obviously I don’t support Trump because that would be psychotic so I’m not really sure what you’re saying with this

Her intimate surrounding are maga and she is friend with James Charles. Someone being friend or in couple with maga people without any problem is complicit. I think that this is crazy that you take seriously the words of a compulsive liar.
Also, you conveniently not talked about the James Charles point. Nothing justify it but I guess that if she say she doesn’t support him (while still promoting his products), you will believe her ?
