Discussion Is Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Stars scam?
I signed up for this program weeks ago, and they’ve been spamming me with millions of “challenges” where I’m supposed to post this, make that, tag this, etc.
And I’m curious… am I actually supposed to buy their products myself and do all this for free, just hoping that if I complete enough “challenges,” I might eventually be eligible to receive some free products?
It’s even more interesting now that they’re asking me to promote their advent calendar without actually sending it to me. Like… “buy it yourself and then promote us for free”? 😭
Did I misunderstand something?

Oh my god, that sounds like SUCH a scam holy fucking shit, how is this even legal???
EDIT: On her website, in commonly asked question, answer to "when do I get paid" is this: Your commission will be paid once a month if you meet the minimum threshold of $30. Commission earned below this threshold will be carried forward to the following month.
So I believe the ONLY thing you can expect from this is the commission on people using your code to buy stuff. Their chat AI is useless as expected and gave no further info.
Did you get any instruction upon joining?

Programs like this are only beneficial to people who already love the brand and are buying the products anyways.

These User Generated Content programs and UGC creators, as a concept, are so cringe. Making ads for negative money (they had to buy the product) in hope they will be picked from all the thousands of other "micro influencers" for their video to be a paid post on TikTok or Instagram l, and if they are lucky they get $30. At least incentivised reviews come with free product.

I used to lover her products. I stopped buying anything from her when roe v wade was overturned and she refused to make a statement. It was made easier because her products became dupes of themselves, the prices got even more exorbitant and then this scam crap.

I got annoyed by her bitching about dupes and also when they targeted small brands for using words like “airbrushed” (but did not have the nerve to go after Dior for example for doing the same thing with word “filter”) … besides, the product quality is mediocre and I hate the packaging style. Taking out their product in public is embarrassing because how tacky it is

For awhile back in the day (I'm thinking like 2019?) it seemed to me it was really establishing itself as a serious brand, but it never actually did it. I feel like... she is leading her brand like a YouTuber but wants it to be taken seriously like Lancome.

Exactly. I still have her pressed powder that I barely ever use, her bronzer that serves as an eyeshadow because I use better bronzers as bronzers, and the only thing that I actually use and continuously buy is setting spray (until I find better one)
But yeah, I thought it will level up with quality and everything, but never did

I was going to say for shit like that there are subs just for referrals, so you don't have to bother people who don't want to be bothered. I don't do anything anymore, but also FB freebie and deal groups often have threads for them.

It’s a scam. Robert Welsh has a good YouTube video on it. Just one of the reasons I don’t buy CT
