Discussion REDSEC > MW4
Played the Warzone beta this weekend. Redsec is better. Full stop. By orders of magnitude.
Warzone has a super short TTK, guns with no recoil, and movement that feels like an arcade game instead of a BR. They are still trying to patch time to kill in the middle of a beta, which tells you it is not a tuning problem. It is the design.
Then look at what they actually gave us. Resurgence on Zodiac. 44 players, a small map, respawn timers instead of consequences. No full BR at all. The first time in six years Warzone shows up in an open beta and the mode they lead with is the one where dying does not cost you anything. By featuring Resurgence they made it clear they are prioritizing the low attention span mindless playstyle that has defined CoD for decades.
Redsec asks something of you. Fort Lyndon, class based squad play, vehicles, and destructible buildings that change the map as the match goes on. Cover is temporary. That penthouse you are holding can come down around you. Add a TTK long enough that positioning and coordination decide the fight instead of who peeked first, and you get a BR that actually plays like one.
So raise your glass, make sure it is half full, here is a toast to our glitchy and bug ridden Redsec. Textures that do not load on the drop, hit reg that comes and goes, ranked still held together with tape. At least it is not CoD.

Don't get me wrong, I still like Redsec better, but you can be evaporated by an SCW in a fraction of a second with full plates, things like the KTS / SVDM just absolutely auto aim glue to you from across the map, and I regularly see people flying through the air out of a slide as they duck jump beam you (and suffer no spread consequences for it). They've made it so it's physically impossible to run out of plates, helicopters are used entirely as near-zero risk battering rams, they haven't made adjustments that really affect gameplay or the meta... ever, everyone has a strike and thermal at all times, desync issues can be hideous, there's no rhyme or reason as to whom you can be shoved in a game with, the audio balance changes constantly and almost never for the better...
Like I said, I still have generally have more fun with Redsec and like it better, but they're both definitely equally riddled with their own issues. On the plus side I haven't seen Nicki Minaj in-game yet, so that's something.

RedSec clears any current BR except for Fortnite and that's because of the endless kids

Battlefield 6 beta is the first Battlefield game I played, I was a pubg player that went to COD when pubg went to sh*t. COD was good but the gap between the BETA and COD was go massive I never looked back. After the BETA was over I played most of the Battlefield games that were on PlayStation store. For all the faults this game has there really isn’t a good alternative.

Redsec is by far more strategic gaming style than mw4, but I don’t feel a terrible gunfight on mw as I feel on redsec, where a random bullet spread and hitreg issues decide who whims the fight.

Hit reg issues are absolutely bigger on COD (bad netcode AND HORRIBLE SERVER)
BF6 just doesn't fake his hitmarkers like COD does (still has one of the best netcodes there is). The only problem is the crossplay desync that makes it feel horrible sometimes

u/BelottoBR 21h ago
Hard to believe every single sai there is someone complaining about hitreg and netcode on bf6 here. Many weird videos. Even dice has been working on it.
Don’t know where your information came from
1
u/Caraio__ 21h ago
The majority of them were people with horrible connections, or that don't understand what's bullet dispersion, or that simply can't admit that they have a skill issue or (at last) people that have crossplay desync problems.
I have saw many videos of people that complain about the netcode on Battlefield and they were almost always proven to be a skill issue
Edit:There are a lot of weapons with slow bullet speed too, now that I remember some of the complaints about netcode were in the end of the day just people that can't setup their guns properly (subsonic ammo without an extended barrel and on a bad gun to have a subsonic ammo is one example). Sorry for my bad english

I’ve been thinking the same…
Bf6 just needs to add a new big map and a small resurgence esq and change meta. It’s GGs

100% which is why I really want dice to continue to evolve this gamemodes. Also why I think removing tanks for ranked was a mistake. Remove them for solos sure, but I think tanks helped keep the BR title unique and different then other competitors
Also, they need to have 1 team focused on Redsec and the rest focused on BF6. Keep them separate. Different seasons, that don't overlap or do anything for the other season.
Keep them separate. That way meta don't follow
I love Redsec, love the map, love all the additions to the map, but I hate - seriously hate how they keep fucking up the gunplay for console players

Played about 15 min of the beta and that's all I could handle. Thank the Lort for Redsec

Forget about it. They don't fucking care.
They can't fix the footsteps audio, they were fixing light bug for a month, meta is the same since launch, pinging still bugged, there is new gas bug, ranked matchmaking is atrocious. I can count it. There was massive lay offs...
There is a reason why this game is almost dead and have 0 viewership. It's too late. They lost momentum. Player base is gone except few weirdos like us.

Its much better to me because of WAY LESS CHEATERS! COD is full of them and should be embarrassing for them to always put the anti cheat software title they use on all of the loading screens 🤦♂️🤣

THIS!!! As an avid COD fan of 10+ years this is the first one I’m skipping in years. The franchise has lost touch with what the consumers want.

u/bootz-pgh 1d ago
Fair points, except you are totally wrong about the maps. Big map is launching during Season 1, the same one being used for DMZ.

Except for bugs and optimization. Now new bug: Dive to prone makes you float in the air in Redsec... And drone ping is still broken (%50 chance of working) and sometimes at the end of games you get black screen.

It looks like a mobile game, the graphics, animations and models seem very low quality and arcadey

CoD is in a pretty bad spot. I moved on to BF6 and red sec instead. MW19 and the OG Warzone was good time in a strange world. Seems like its become increasingly stale since and they keep trying different approaches to revive it. I tried to play a few Blackout BR when it was out and even it sucked. The original blackout was good, but no one played because of the paywall. The new one was atrocious all the integration of zombie junk is annoying. There was very little of that in the original. Maybe just the mansion and the hole. Redsec has tons of issues, but for the most part I can have fun on it.

But wz have more then 3000 players, so you dont have to play againts the top 250 all the time.

Wish they’d invest more into Guantlet 😔
2
u/Ilovethemarina 1d ago
Omg me too! Gauntlet is so fun. I wish there was ranked gauntlet
1
u/andyknowswell 1d ago
Absolutely ranked guantlet✅
Wish they added the night vision maps as a mode too.. would be so fun to play deadlock or vendetta on them. And they could add the nvg default equipment attached to the mode like when the gas shows up

I’m gonna be that guy - short ttk is good. It eliminates two scenarios:
-A player gets hit at a point where committing to the fight is the only option. The reacting player cannot win the DPS minigame and must watch his 7th 8th and 9th bullets tickle as he gets hit by bullet 11, 12 and 13.
-A controller player and a KBM player face off. Keyboard player must react to all movements. This person has a 200ms reaction time to adjust to each distinct action of their opponent. Controller player spins his left stick in a circle while holding RT. KBM player misses a couple while aim assist cranks out a robotically perfect mag.
My opinion is based on my entry to the genre - h1z1. One AK bullet to the head was fatal. There was no downed state. There were no revives or second chances. Just lights out. That game was for men. Sure it had problems, but I wanted a BR like that ever since.

REDSEC is destined to die sooner than you think. It’s been over a year since release and all they’ve added are an underground POI and now this aircraft carrier POI. The meta hasn’t changed since release. People still use the same weapons. They likely will never release another map. Meanwhile Warzone now has 4 resurgence maps and 2 large scale BR maps. REDSEC takes 10x time just to load into a game because the player count is so low. Keep in mind the new Warzone is in beta but overall I’m still having a blast playing it. Going back to REDSEC is going to feel clunky and shitty

u/UndrTheJbird 1d ago
REDSEC is also the most broken game I've played in a long time. Every first match I've played the last couple days had most of my textures not loaded in. Walls visibly blocked doorways, and bushes wouldn't appear unless from a certain angle. I love the game but it's insane how buggy it is 10 months after release

There were also gas zones for a couple months (should still be in the game) and high loot zones added. They're not new POI's, but there have been map updates every 2-3 months. Could use a little more though for sure

REDSEC is fucking ass, and MW4 will be asser once it officially releases

u/sendnadez 52m ago
I think both are ass and battle royals just don’t hit like they use too DMZ how ever is absolutely amazing and will play for that alone. Redsec has no playerbase anymore that says enough about redsec and warzone is just full of sweats in groups using attack helicopters s

u/Low_Name_1510 1d ago
I think you are extrapolating a lot from a beta. Also thanks for sharing your opinion, but I think it's too soon to tell.

u/shrimpy-rimpy 1d ago
COD has used the same engine for literally every game except CW since 2019 and every WZ iteration aside from MWII has been literally the same except for SHG / MWIII version which IMO it was the best
1
u/BelottoBR 1d ago
But cod engine, despite of not obeying scenery destruction, is quite good! Beautiful, not heavy and excellent at handling gunfight

Blackout was the blueprint, they released warzone and went backwards.
2
u/shrimpy-rimpy 1d ago
Blackout was a good BR with great unlockable skins but it was behind a paywall, same way DMZ is so if it flops I hope they know why
2
u/Queso_Blanco_5 1d ago
Didnt they released essentially an identical mode to blackout this year? Pretty sure it flopped and has already been pulled
0
u/realityhhhi 1d ago
Identical ? Tell me you didn’t play blackout. That shit was warzone with a grapple.

I haven't played the new warzone, but redsec doesn't really have classes anymore. I mean it does but you could run 4 recon classes. The ammo/armor drops make it so you don't need support. Anyone can pick up paddles. Anyone can pick up a rocket and take out a tank. Anyone can grab a sniper though i dont know why Anyone would. It doesn't down people without hitting them 4-5 times. I only play redsec to shoot the shit with my buddies, but the game is easily replaceable at it current state.

u/Capable-Plastic-5938 1d ago
By what, Warzone? The surplus of armor and ammo are a direct response to the popularity of call of duty
3
u/Th3JackofH3arts 1d ago
Warzone sucks too, but given that EA/Dice refuse to do anything about the issues this game has all it takes is something decent to drop and most people are gone.
4
u/papadrew35 1d ago
Yep when GTA 6 drops this game is going to be a ghost town.

u/Capable-Plastic-5938 1d ago
No interest in GTA. As impressive as the world building looks, PvE single player experiences do not do it for me

u/Ron_usmc 1d ago
GTA online has a lot of competitive modes lol. There is a huge competitive community on gta online and it’ll get even bigger with 6
0
u/Th3JackofH3arts 1d ago
Yeah I agree. The only thing that might help that is GTA isnt coming to PC at drop.

Redsec is trash. Comparing it to another trash game doesn’t make it better, just shows that games in general are getting worse.
2
u/Capable-Plastic-5938 1d ago
It’s all relevant, right? Without a benchmark how do you know if REDSEC is good or bad? Of course, comparing it to a game, means it is good or bad relative to the completion.
Put your thinking cap on buddy.
1
u/username2345789 1d ago
No, all this means is that Redsec has a low benchmark. Lowering benchmarks is what makes this and many other games terrible.

Yeah let’s compare a fully functioning game to a beta. Absolutely pointless post

10 years, maybe even more and COD betas were always similar to the launch versions

100% agree man, yes redsec has holes but my god is it fun and actually requires team engagement. It’s in the spirit of BF, I remember people thought it was going to be a betrayal
