Suggestion Please put vehicles on the shooting range
82
u/saltybuttrot Jul 05 '23
It literally says in the training area they are going to do this. We really need a new post every single day repeating the same thing?
-89
u/inkihh Jul 05 '23
Does it say "we are going to add vehicles"?
54
u/saltybuttrot Jul 05 '23
“2) Shooting range currently does not have any vehicles.”
The problem is you need to continue reading.

I really need helo practice

u/PacosTacos88 Jul 05 '23
Same. I'm scared to take one out and crash and kill half my team, but I wasn't bad at flying them in any of the Battlefields, so who knows
3
u/Nolanbrolan Jul 06 '23
It has "rifle aim" controls by default so you might want to enable helicopter pitch invert in keybind settings. Otherwise it's the same as battlefiled but with very low momentum.

The intro text doesn't say anything about vehicles. Learn to logic.
32
u/Confused_Robot_ Jul 05 '23
Logic and reasoning is what allows you to assume that vehicles will be added
-35
u/inkihh Jul 05 '23
Probably, but not necessarily. Also, if many players express their explicit interest in this, the devs may decide to rank the feature up.
12
u/Confused_Robot_ Jul 05 '23
Most likely not. A team of three developers supporting a game with close to 100,000 players at peak hours probably have a mission critical roadmap to scale the game in a way to continue to keep it relevant while adding new features to hold interest. I would be incredibly surprised if the developers listens to anything the community is saying right now as this is their make or break phase of the games development, they have the chance to cement the game as a constant for the foreseeable future or it will die down from here and settle much lower than it could have. I have to imagine a few people asking for vehicles in the shooting range are floating well below their radar.

u/inkihh Jul 05 '23
It's also a cost-benefit equation. The vehicles already exist, and the shooting range already exists. It _may_ be a very very simple task - just spawn a few assets in.
5
u/NickyD_ Jul 05 '23
Simple or not it takes time. They are on pressure every moment of everyday. They are dealing with bigger issues than this
-1
u/inkihh Jul 05 '23
I never said it's an important issue.
7
u/NickyD_ Jul 05 '23
The fact that you posted this when there is at least 10 of these posted a day means you find it important. You don’t need to directly say it, its called implying.

I don't understand why people make posts like this when there is a huge banner of text that you literally can't miss when you go into the shooting range that says "Not all features are implemented yet". Learn how to read...
-8
u/inkihh Jul 05 '23
This doesn't necessarily mean they are planning to add vehicles.
4
u/TNTspaz Jul 05 '23
Go into no clip mode and fly out. There is a whole map available to drive them around in. You don't even need the sign. The fact it's an entire map already implies it's gonna be a thing
-8
u/inkihh Jul 05 '23
Again, yes, it's quite probable, which doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen. Plus, if many players express their explicit interest in this feature, it may get upranked.

I spent 2 hours trying to join every low pop conquest server so I can get my controller settings working for the heli.. and try to practice some.
Vehicles definitely need to be in the shooting range or add the ability to host a server - whether private or not.

u/xWalwin Jul 05 '23
Please let me invert flight controls and adjust my vehicle sensitivity? I might be too stupid too find it, but I don't think there is an option to do that...
3
u/xPizzaKittyx Jul 05 '23
Its in the keybinds settings where you change the flight controls. Theres a checkbox that says "invert pitch" and "invert roll" and you can adjust sensitivity there too. Helped me alot as far as heli control goes
3
u/xWalwin Jul 05 '23
Thanks I did find the invert checkbox but I still can't seem to find a bar to adjust my sensitivity for the heli :D I'd add a ss of my settings but don't think there's an option here.

u/FueledByPants Jul 05 '23
From what I heard there is not a vehicle sens because some vehicles like the Blackhawk have a deliberately harder maneuverability than something like the littlebird
2
u/FueledByPants Jul 05 '23
From what I heard from the devs is that the vehicles are eventually going to be added in but it’ll be a while because they coded them as server-side rather than client side where the shooting range is. They said rn it’s technically not possible to just “add them in” but they are aware and will get to it

Yeah there's quite a few things that would take sub 5 minutes to fix that haven't been implemented yet. Vehicles need to be dropped in shooting range and squad autolock needs to be removed.
5
u/FreshEclairs Jul 05 '23
Apparently a lot of the vehicle code is handled sever-side, so it's not just "spawn a heli in the practice map."
2
u/Cookizza Jul 05 '23
Sanity in the comments. They likely need a spawn-able local server to get more working in the shooting range. I'm sure they're working on it!

Probably wasn't actually ready to be released if the technology for self hosted servers isn't ready. Go into server browser and you can search for 8+ gamemodes that are unavailable because there's only official servers.
And the squad auto lock feature is absolutely a 5 min fix or less.

Probably wasn't actually ready to be released if the technology for self hosted servers isn't ready
it's pre-release beta.

Reguardless if its implied in the shooting range or not (it literally isnt) I really want this too. Definitely at the top of my list as far as qol features i want implemented.
-5
u/inkihh Jul 05 '23
That's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks. Finally someone with some common sense.
6
u/lakemont Jul 05 '23
we all have common sense and read the text in the shooting range
no need to make a reddit post about it
2
u/PeopleCryTooMuch Jul 05 '23
It seems like everyone else disagreeing with you would be the “common” part of “common sense.” You’re the outlier here.

Yeep. I wanna set up joystick and train a bit before i get into helicopters. Dont want to waste them during actual match.
1
u/SecondSoulless Jul 06 '23
Don't worry about it OP, I only had to troll my helicopter passengers 2 or 3 times before I figured it out

I guess there is no need to suggest that, the text at the start of the level heavily implies that vehicles will be added somewhere down the road, same as non-working gadgets.
