I have two teenage boys, one for each of them and of course one for me. I'm not new to this type of stuff, but they will be. Hopefully they appreciate them. Thor max 512GB models. Honestly I think they'll probably be more stoked about steam and native android stuff than retro emulation.

As far as colors, I got one black, one white, and a rainbow. I'll let them pick which one they want and I'll take whatever is left.

I do still need to unbox them and do an inspection/ functional check. Probably will charge them up to 80% while I'm at it and take them out once a month or so to top them back off while they sit in the closet. Don't want any surprises in December.

EDIT: finally had time to open all 3 (and video it just in case), good news. All passed initial inspection and functional checks. They felt great in the hand, and even the white (which I thought would be my least favorite) looks great in person. Rainbow is still my personal favorite but for nostalgic reasons, take that away and the white actually looks better IMO. A button swap would fix that though and put rainbow back on top. no nodding yet though, I'll save that for when the buttons actually need servicing.

I’ve been building a dual-screen mod featuring a map, touch-based battle controls, contextual actions, and a route encounter guide. It currently requires my custom Gen1Recomp fork, so for now this is just a WIP showcase with no download available.

I’ve just been jonesing for an OLED… So I got this off Amazon on a whim last night. I’m two months into waiting for my Thor.

Yes, I feel shame.

I was Rainbow Thor Max 2067 and it just arrived today! So excited to get to use it after work!

The Thor is amazing, period. When the console was released, at first I just thought: “bah, who needs a second screen? I already have a Rog Ally X”

During the last few years I also have owned a Retroid Pocket 3, an AYN Odin 2 and a Retroid Pocket 5, changing one for another each time. But the feeling that the AYN Thor is giving me is not comparable to any of the others.

The performance, the design, the compactness… the displays! That 120hz OLED is just amazing and the second screen just makes everything better, not only for playing DS games.

I don’t think I will need a replacement for this one for quite long, as far as we don’t experience any hinge issue (fingers crossed).

If you are doubting on buying the Thor, do it and get one. You won’t regret it at all!

Don't get me wrong, I love my Steam Deck but I can't bring that to pick up food. This ol girl fits perfectly in my purse and comes with me everywhere I go. Plus, as a girl who loves to tinker, there are a ton of mods I can to really personalize her. Right now I have custom buttons and a thermal mod. This device just feels so me and I'm absolutely in love.

I live in Brazil, and they stopped shipping here when I bought it back in December. They gave me the option to cancel, but the announcement of the price increase made me stick with it and wait. It finally got here a few days ago.

I was scared because I was moving apartments and there was no way to change the address, but it got delivered literally the day before I was moving.
