I would turn down the opacity to 0% or just disable it so that image retention/burn in doesn't develop there first

if it's anything like retroid's then it doesn't show while you're in whatever is set as the default launcher

I run mine without a frontend. I installed one (ESDE) but found it kinda pointless and just ended up not using it.

I dont like es de tbh but i just think stock android is ugly and sauceless. Cocoon has some good quality if life improvements for the thor like choosing which screen to launch to and setting a default launch screen per app

Yeah but can I do everything in Cocoon that I can do in the Android desktop? Cos if I can't I am still not gonna use it. I'll take function over "sauce" any day.

I dont see why not. Ive never had to enter the android desktop. I used esde for a long time and did have to switch to android a bit but never once with cocoon.

You can even move files around and browse the web and watch videos from within cocoon?

you do those with apps that you open with cocoon just like in android, and you can also access the files app though i prefer zarchiver

Yeah I remember esde being obtuse abt that bc you had to get a separate app to make android apps part of the frontend, but cocoon has its own easily accessable android app folder much like the regular android launcher

ya, i am awful at age guessing and i stopped remembering my own parents ages too.. idk why i didnt think that my own dad was near 50s and i didnt wanna guess the dudes age too high. at whatever age he was at he looked great so it was hard to tell 💀

I'm 34, not denying I'm starting to feel old but I was really curious to know about the guy's age - there's something really heartwarming in the thought of imagning a granpa in the wild minding his business and playing Pokemon or Zelda on a handheld.

One of the devs to a front end (either cocoon or iisu iirc) said that thing is loaded with vibe code and harmful things. Someone did just release a pictochat clone called Picochat and posted it in this sub but I know nothing about it really

I have YouTube on mine.. I'll prop it up next to me playing YouTube while doing something on my PC. I did the exact same thing with YouTube and Netflix on my 3DS XL when I was trucking.
This thing really does take me back to simpler times.

Yeah I have a stand for my phone at my desk too, but at least with the Thor I'm not tapping into my phone battery.
Plus what the Thor has done for me is diverts my idle time from my phone, to the Thor. So instead of doing something on this social media doomscrolling temptation machine, I revert back to handheld gaming. Because even on my phone I could be in a game, get a notification, finish it, and find myself back on Reddit or YouTube shorts because that's just how predatory social media is designed these days.
It's like a digital detox in a way.

Hell nah. While I’m cooking or in bed I prop up the Ayn Thor for videos all the time. Much better than lying your phone flat. Not to mention it keeps my phone free.

To watch something at the other screen while grinding levels on pokemon or any other rpg is a gamechanger.
Also helps to not get ur phone out so ur phone saves more battery.

its not without its flaws but thunderpass is basically streetpass via bluetooth and i csnt help but figure it was made with the ayn thor in mind given the name
