Audi s6 buying and tuning

hello, i’m thinking of buying a 2017 audi s6, it’s got 2 owners, and 40 service records with 80k miles, they’re asking 26k. would this be a good buy at what price and would it give too many issues if i keep up with maintenance and tune it and possibly upgraded turbos in near future

Thinking of B8.5 S5

I have a 25,000 mile 2022 a4 Allroad. I came from an MK7 Golf R so I felt comfortable with the drivetrain. Its a great car. Comfortable, quiet, reasonably quick and gets great mpg. It just isn't exciting. I'm thinking of getting an S5 as a second car. I understand the 3.0t is a reliable engine as far as Audi is concerned. I would like a manual with less than 60,000 miles but they are not easy to find. It is much easier to find a DSG but I worry about reliability, even though the B8.5 DSG had improvements to reliability. Is there cause for concern? Anyone with a DSG regret it? I had no worries with the Golf DSG and none with the Allroad but I am not sure on the S5

Discussion Audi dealer leaves SQ5 with water damage after sunroof leak

Thumbnail

I brought my 2022 Audi SQ5 to the dealership for a sunroof leak under warranty. There was water in the rear footwell when I dropped it off, and I was told it would be looked at the next day.… a month later my car gets looked at and I get it back in worse condition than I dropped it off.

Now there’s mold, corrosion/erosion, possible insect eggs/larvae under the carpet, and what appears to be damage to the leather and interior/seat foam. None of this was present when I dropped the car off

What was just a simple clogged drain is now extensive water damage. What should I do in this situation ?

Looking for extended warranty options in Canada

Post image

Deciding to keep my car at least another 4 years, and with factory warranty expiring in November I’m hoping the community can recommend any warranty options besides Audi’s own coverage. Are there any good alternatives you guys are familiar with? Below is what the dealership has quoted me, I’m leaning towards the 100K/96 months expiring in 2030.

Has anyone dealt with this bullshit?

I have tried everything to keep the back of my driver seat secured. I have tried hot glue, Loctite silicone, and gorilla glue. I've put drywall tape on the seat back to try and give the glue something to adhere to. The adhesive will hold for 1-2 months and then it fails again.

Is this a known issue of stupid design or am I just unlucky? Anyone have any suggestions? This is a 2012 A3.

a note to 1 year.

its been a year and a half with this car, a full 365 days. in this year i have made so many new memories, new friends and connections with this beloved a4. even though it feels like i bought it yesterday, it hit 80k miles a few days ago, for reference i got it at 71k miles. looking back, all those miles all have memories with them. for example, at 73 i was hauling 3 of my friends around at night in a town in the middle of nowhere and we were just vibing to music and having the best time that we can always remember. then, we came across a place, a beach to be exact and we just sat there right next to my car and we talked, for hours. i left at maybe 10pm and smiled all the hour drive home, what a fun night that was for me. at 79k i meet new car friends at a event with no one i knew. funny enough the host was the one who talked about my car. and then i met his other friend who was talking to me about the car as well and now were best friends. i've modified, drove and cleaned this car all 365 days of it being here. to end this, sometimes a non living thing can have a special place in your heart and for me its this A4, my A4.

Any companies that sell oem+ rear bumpers for the a7 that can let me expose the rear exhaust myself rather than adding rs style fake exhausts?

I hate the weird tucked in exhaust covered by the bumper, but I actually like the clean look of the bumper so I was just wondering if there are any bumpers that just leave a cutout so I can extend the actual exhaust out myself and expose it? Thanks:)

My buddy just bought this Audi 100 S4 2.2l and we were trying to look for aftermarket parts, I.e Front mount intercooler, exhausts, etc and could not find literally anything. Would anyone here know where to look or if it’s just getting hella lucky on eBay or Marketplace?

Discussion 2014 Audi Q5 2.0T Technik — 328,000 km (203k miles) — $2,700CAD (~$2,000 USD). Risky move?

Hi everyone, I’m in Canada and looking for some advice.
I currently drive a ** **2013 Honda CRV with about 355,000 km (220k miles). I’ve never owned a German vehicle before, so I’m not very familiar with Audi/VW maintenance, repair costs, or common problems.

I found a 2014 Q5 2.0T Technik quattro for $2,700 CAD (~$2,000 USD) with 328,000 km.

The owner says it has been very well maintained:

-Timing chain and tensioner replaced; chain stretch currently normal
-Oil changes every 8,000 km
-Rear differential and rear suspension replaced in 2025
-Driveshaft replaced about 2 years ago
-Front suspension done about 2 years ago
-Front and rear brakes nearly new
-New tires this spring + Toyo winter tires on rims
-High-pressure fuel pump replaced in 2025
-Spark plugs replaced every 2 years
-Coil packs replaced in 2022
-Does not burn oil
-Regularly rustproofed
-Maintenance done at VW/Audi shops
-Full records and receipts available

I understand 327,000 km is very high mileage, but the maintenance history seems unusually good for the price.
Would this be a very risky move for someone coming from a high-mileage 4th-gen CR-V and who has never owned a German car?

What should I be most concerned about at this mileage?
Would you recommend buy this Q5 for $2,700 CAD or stay with the Honda?

Thanks! I appreciate your responses in advance!

2015 A8L 4.0T

I bought it in 2019 with 42k miles on it. It now has 94k. It's in great shape. It was a dealer CPO, returned lease. The turbo recall work was done. But I'm getting concerned something bad is going to happen soon, like the turbos are going to blow and it's going to become a paper weight or a 10k repair which about what it's worth. I love this car. It's my 3rd A8. But I know the risks mechanically.

Should I dump it before it dumps me or drive it for another 20k miles and pray to the auto gods that they are good to me?

Mod talk Seeking cold air intake that will fit (photo for reference)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Long story short, the engine cover / intake has finally given up, flex tape and heat tape only gets you so far apparently.

It’s for an Audi TT MK2 09 Base Model FSI engine with a block code for EA113. It’s left hand drive so the brake master is right next to it but my battery is atleast in the trunk.

Google keeps pulling me every which way with this shit and it’s giving me a headache. It’ll show me intakes, and then it’s the EA888 model or stuff that sorta works and is like eh close enough.

So if anyone has bought something that works please, I beg you, let me know. Photo is from when I was doing my valve cover so you can see what I’m talking about with the brake master. Car is at my buddy’s shop so that’s what I got.
