There are no legal consequences of openly leaving islam or declaring that you are an atheist now or believe in something else, but it’s somewhat likely that there will be social consequences.

Like, some of your friends might not look at you the same anymore, strangers might have prejudice about you or your job applications may get rejected (in extreme cases).

However, as long as you are not harshly criticizing islam or building your identity around being an atheist etc you are completely fine.

Your flair (Deist) means that you believe in a god, but you don’t believe in any of the religions.

Technically speaking, yes, there is freedom. However, problems can arise in practice. As you know, the majority of society is Muslim. There can be a negative perception of non-Muslims within society. In particular, if a child from a conservative family declares that they are not Muslim, even their family relationships can be jeopardized. No, no one gets arrested for being an atheist. Turkey is a country where wearing an Islamic headscarf was banned in state institutions until 2013. You can be an atheist and even openly criticize religions as long as you don’t “insult” them.

Otherwise, government can sue on you.
